  • This paper estimate a desired signal in a correlation wireless communication. The transmitted signal is mixed with the information signal, interference, and noise in wireless channel, and it is incident on the receiver. In this paper, we apply MUSIC algorithm and sub-array method to recover the total rank of the correlation matrix in order to estimation a desired signal among receiving signals. Through simulation, we analyze to compare the proposed method with the classical MUSIC algorithm. As a result of the simulation, the proposed method improved the resolution about 10degrees compared to the conventional MUSIC algorithm. We prove the superiority of the proposed method for the desired signal estimation in correlation channel.

  • In CDMA systems, the performance of the typical multipath searcher degrades much according as the signal to noise ratio becomes low. In this paper, multipath searcher algorithm is proposed based on sliding window to overcome this drawback. In searcher systems, correlation values between incoming and local PN sequences are used to acquire multipath components. Therefore more accurate distributions of correlation values obtained through this proposed algorithm enables to get higher detection probability. In computer simulations, it is verified that proposed algorithm has better performances in Rayleigh fading channel and Gaussian channel.

  • As a widely used way to exfiltrate information, wireless covert channel (WCC) brings a serious threat to communication security, which enables the wireless communication process to bypass the authorized access control mechanism to disclose information. Unlike the covert channel on the network layer, wireless covert channels on the physical layer (WCC-P) is a new covert communication mode to implement and improve covert wireless communication. Existing WCC-P scheme modulates the secret message bits into the Gaussian noise, which is also called covert digital communication system based on the joint normal distribution (CJND). Finding the existence of this type of covert channel remains a challenging work due to its high undetectability. In this paper, we exploit the square autocorrelation coefficient (SAC) characteristic of the CJND signal to distinguish the covert communication from legitimate communication. We study the sharp increase of the SAC value when the offset is equal to the symbol length, which is caused by embedding secret information. Then, the SAC value of the measured sample is compared with the threshold value to determine whether the measured sample is CJND sample. When the signal-to-noise ratio reaches 20db, the detection accuracy can reach more than 90%.

  • In conventional video coding, encoder complexity is much higher than that of decoder. However, investigations for lightweight encoder to eliminate motion prediction/compensation claiming most complexity in encoder have recently become an important issue. The Wyner-Ziv coding is one of the representative schemes for the problem and, in this scheme, since encoder generates only parity bits of a current frame without performing any type of processes extracting correlation information between frames, it has an extremely simple structure compared to conventional coding techniques. However, in Wyner-Ziv coding, channel decoding errors occur when noisy side information is used in channel decoding process. These channel decoding errors appear more frequently, especially, when there is not enough correlation between frames to generate accurate side information and, as a result, those errors look like Salt & Pepper type noise in the reconstructed frame. Since this noise severely deteriorates subjective video quality even though such noise rarely occurs, previously we proposed a computationally extremely light encoding method based on selective median filter that corrects such noise using spatial correlation of a frame. However, in the previous method, there is a problem that loss of texture from filtering may exceed gain from error correction by the filter for video sequences having complex torture. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an improved lightweight encoding method that minimizes loss of texture detail from filtering by allowing information of texture and that of noise in side information to be utilized by the selective median filter. Our experiments have verified average PSNR gain of up to 0.84dB compared to the previous method.

  • Recently, correlation filter based trackers have shown excellent tracking performance and computational efficiency. In order to enhance tracking performance in the correlation filter based tracker, search area which is image patch for finding target must include target. In this paper, two methods to discriminatively represent target in the search area are proposed. Firstly, search area location is estimated using pyramidal Lucas-Kanade algorithm. By estimating search area location before filtering, fast motion target can be included in the search area. Secondly, we investigate multi-channel Local Edge Pattern(LEP) which is insensitive to illumination and noise variation. Qualitative and quantitative experiments are performed with eight dataset, which includes ground truth. In comparison with method without search area estimation, our approach retain tracking for the fast motion target. Additionally, the proposed multi-channel LEP improves discriminative performance compare to existing features.

  • This paper derives and computes the detection probability of timing synchronization in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system encountered with a multipath Rayleigh fading channel and imperfect noise estimation. The timing synchronization scheme using a simple repeated constant amplitude zero auto-correlation (CAZAC) training symbol and correlation techniques is adopted. With this provision, we focus on the numerical analysis for OFDM timing synchronization scheme employing a preadvancement technique to reduce the inter-symbol interference (ISI). For measuring system performance, the detection performance derived in the considered system is presented in a multipath Rayleigh fading channel.

  • The cognitive radio communication is taking the attentions because the development of the technique came to be possible to analyze wireless signals. In the IEEE 802.22 WRAN Systems[1], how to detect a spectrum and signals is continuously studied. In this paper, we propose the efficient signal detection method using SCF (Spectral Correlation Function). It is easy to detect the signal feature when we are using the SCF. Because most modulated signals have the cyclo-stationarity which is unique for each signal. But the fading channel effected serious influence even though it detects the feature of the signal. We applied LMS(Least Mean Square) filter for the compensation of the signal which is effected the serious influence in the fading channel. And we analyze some signal patterns through the SCF. And we show the unique signal feature of each signal through the SCF method. It is robust for low SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) environment and we can distinguish it in the fading channel using LMS Filter.

  • This paper described adaptive ANC (Active Noise Control) systems for noise canacelling in multiple inputs and multiple outputs channel. Until this time, it was reported that the study of AMC for the multiple inputs and the multiple outputs had no correlation between input signals of adaptive filters. In fact, it is difficult independently to check the noise source signals and insufficient about this study. In this paper we proposed to use the adaptive filter for eliminating the correlation between input signals. The simulation results showed that the convergence rate improved about two times with this filter than that one without this filter at the rate $b_{12}=0.95$.

  • This paper proposes a speech enhancement algorithm to improve the speech intelligibility by suppressing both reverberation and background noise. The algorithm adopts a non-causal single-channel minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) filter to exploit an additional information that is included in the noisy-reverberant signals in subsequent frames. The noisy-reverberant signals are decomposed into the parts of the desired signal and the interference that is not correlated to the desired signal. Then, the filter equation is derived based on the MVDR criterion to minimize the residual interference without bringing speech distortion. The estimation of the correlation parameter, which plays an important role to determine the overall performance of the system, is mathematically derived based on the general statistical reverberation model. Furthermore, the practical implementation methods to estimate sub-parameters required to estimate the correlation parameter are developed. The efficiency of the proposed enhancement algorithm is verified by performance evaluation. From the results, the proposed algorithm achieves significant performance improvement in all studied conditions and shows the superiority especially for the severely noisy and strongly reverberant environment.

  • During a signal is being transmitted, an interference signal can be introduced through an unknown channel. In these cases, an adaptive system, so called adaptive noise canceller, can restore the original signal from the corrupted signal by first identifying the unknown interference channel on the minimum mean square error criteron, and then by cancelling the interference signal using the identified interference channel. Whereas this method is quite effective when the a priori knowledges about the characteristics of the interference signal and of the intrference channel are unknown or time-varyng, but has a drawback that the presence of the original signal has a severe effect on the optimum value of the interference channel to be identified on the miniumum mean square eror criterion In this paper an adaptive noise canceller and its algorithms are introduced that can restore the original signal more accurately especially when the correlatedness between the original signal and the interference signal is small.
