  • Vendors and consultants struggle to draw attention to their proven experience in discrete CIM in order to convince process manufacturers to adopt CIM technology. The analogy works very well at the periphery where an invoice is an invoice, but disintegrates at the core where modeling of the manufacturing "process" is required. Until recently, it has not been possible to completely and rigorously model entire process plants in real-time, and this missing core element has been called the "CIM GAP" With the recent introduction of the concurrent resolution $^{sm}$ kernel, the CIM GAP now is being closed in the process industries.ntroduction of the concurrent resolution $^{sm}$ kernel, the CIM GAP now is being closed in the process industries.

  • AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68 are two putative G group bZIP transcription factors in Arabidopsis thaliana, the other three members of G group bZIPs are GBF1-3 which can bind G-box. Members of G group have conservative protein structure: highly homological basic region and a proline-rich domain in the N-terminal region. Here, we report that AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68 could bind cis elements with ACGT core, such as G-box, Hex, C-box and As-1, but with different binding affinities which from high to low were G-box > Hex > C-box > As-1; AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68 could form homodimer and form heterodimer with other members of G group; N-terminal proline rich domain of AtbZIP16 had transactivation activity in yeast cells while that of AtbZIP68 did not; AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68 GFP fusion protein localized in the nucleus of onion epidermal cells. These results indicated that AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68 were two new members of GBFs. In Arabidopsis, AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68 may also participate in light-responsive process in which GBF1-3 are involved.

  • This paper describes a design of AES-based CCMP(Counter mode with CBC-MAC Protocol) core for IEEE 802.11i wireless LAN security. To maximize the performance of CCMP core, two AES cores are used, one is the counter mode for data confidentiality and the other is the CBC node for authentication and data integrity. The S-box that requires the largest hardware in ARS core is implemented using composite field arithmetic, and the gate count is reduced by about 27% compared with conventional LUT(Lookup Table)-based design. The CCMP core was verified using Excalibur SoC kit, and a MPW chip is fabricated using a 0.35-um CMOS standard cell technology. The test results show that all the function of the fabricated chip works correctly. The CCMP processor has 17,000 gates, and the estimated throughput is about 353-Mbps at 116-MHz@3.3V, satisfying 54-Mbps data rate of the IEEE 802.11a and 802.11g specifications.

  • Mega composite structure systems have been widely used in high rise buildings in China. Compared to other structures, this type of composite structure systems has a larger cross-section with less weight. Concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) laced column to box-beam connections are gaining popularity, in particular for the mega composite structure system in high rise buildings. To enable a better understanding of the destruction characteristics and aseismic performance of these connections, three different connection types of specimens including single-limb bracing, cross bracing and diaphragms for core area of connections were tested under low cyclic and reciprocating loading. Hysteresis curves and skeleton curves were obtained from cyclic loading tests under axial loading. Based on these tested curves, a new trilinear hysteretic restoring force model considering rigidity degradation is proposed for CFST laced column to box-beam connections in a mega composite structure system, including a trilinear skeleton model based on calculation, law of stiffness degradation and hysteresis rules. The trilinear hysteretic restoring force model is compared with the experimental results. The experimental data shows that the new hysteretic restoring force model tallies with the test curves well and can be referenced for elastic-plastic seismic analysis of CFST laced column to composite box-beam connection in a mega composite structure system.

  • Mammalian polo-like kinase 1 (Plk1) acts at various stages in early and late mitosis. Plk1 localizes at the centrosome and maintains this position through mitosis. Thereafter Plk1 moves to the kinetochore and midbody region, important sites during chromosome separation and cytokinesis. The catalytic domain of Plk1 is in the N-terminus region, whereas the non-catalytic region in the C-terminus of Plk1 has a conserved motif, named the Polobox. This motif is critical for Plk localization. EGFP proteins fused with the N-terminus and C-terminus of Plk1 localize in the nucleus and centrosomes, respectively. The core sequences of the polo-box (50 amino acids) also localize in Plk1 target organelles. To screen for domain-specific target proteins of Plk1, we constructed an N-terminal domain and a tandem repeat polo-box motif, and used them as templates in a yeast two-hybrid screen. The HeLa cell cDNA library indicated several proteins including the centrosome/kinetochore components or regulators, to be characterized as positive clones. Through in vitro protein binding analyses, we confirmed an interaction between these proteins and Plk1. The data reported from this study indicate that the N- and C- termini of Plk1 may function through recruitment and/or activation of domain-specific target proteins in dividing cells. Additionally, tandem repeats of the conserved core motif of the polo-box are sufficient for targeting and may be useful as a centrosome/kinetochore-specific targeting peptide.

  • Recently, due to adjacent excavation work such as new buildings and common tunnel expansion concentrated around the urban railway, deformation of the underground box and tunnel structure of the urban railway built underground has occurred, and as a result, repair and reinforcement work is frequently carried. In addition, the subway is responsible for large-scale transportation, so ensuring the safety and drivability of underground structures is very important. Accordingly, an automated measurement system is being introduced to manage the safety of underground box structures. However, there is no analysis of structural damage vulnerabilities caused by subsidence or uplift of underground box structures. In this study, we aim to analyze damage vulnerabilities for safety monitoring of underground box structures. In addition, we intend to analyze major core monitoring locations by modeling underground box structures through numerical analysis. Therefore, we would like to suggest sensor installation locations and damage vulnerable areas for safety monitoring of underground box structures in the future.

  • Although the long-term leakage between the box culvert and the soil contact surface is one of the main causes of the failure in the embankment of the reservoir, there is a little studies on this matter. If a leakage occurs by the structure such as the buried box culvert of reservoir embankment is partially damaged, it is difficult to observe and there is a possibility of damage caused by piping. For these reasons, more research is necessary. In this study, the embankment type of the reservoir is divided into the core type and the homogeneous type when the damaged box culvert passing through the embankment of the reservoir is leaked due to the differential behavior of materials like differential settlement. In view of the condition, the seepage analysis of 2D was performed according to the water level change. The result of the study shows that the possibility of piping increases at the upper part rather than the bottom part of the box culvert when the leakage occurs to the box culvert passing through the embankment of the reservoir. Particularly, it is considered that the presence of the core helps to maintain the seepage stability of the embankment in case where the leakage occurs at the downstream side of the embankment. Also, if there is a drastic decrease on the internal pore water pressure in the embankment of reservoir, it is necessary to consider the possibility of piping.

  • Quasi-static three-point bending tests on sandwich beams with expanded metal sheets as core were conducted. Relationships between the force and displacement at the mid-span of the sandwich beams were obtained from the experiments. Numerical simulations were carried out using ABAQUS/EXPLCIT and the results were thoroughly compared with the experimental results. A parametric analysis was performed using a Box-Behnken design (BBD) for the design of experiments (DOE) techniques and a finite element modeling. Then, the influence of the core layers number, size of the cell and, thickness of the substrates was investigated. The results showed that the increase in the size of the expanded metal cell in a reasonable range was required to improve the performance of the structure under bending collapse. It was found that core layers number and size of the cell was key factors governing the quasi-static response of the sandwich beams with lattice cores.

  • The automatic tool changer of a machining center consists of a tool magazine and a cam box, and the core components of the cam box are a roller gear cam and a turret. Recently, the roller gear cam of a cam box has been replaced by a ball gear cam. In this study, the design and machining method of ball gear cam for an automatic tool changer was studied. Additionally, an algorithm for a 4-axis post processing method was established from an instrumental formula by designing a ball gear cam, thus preventing machining at the bottom of ball end mill and enabling the ball on the turret to be driven at the entrance and exit of a curve without collision due to machining errors. In conclusion, machining using only the 4-axis method including the C-axis on a BC -Type 5-axis machine produced the desired ball gear cam.
