Thermally expanded core fiber (TEC-fiber) Bragg gratings have been fabricated and their transmission spectrums have been analyzed. The measured spectrum shows the characteristic peak splitting caused by the grating pair formed over the expanded section that has the effective index axial distribution, which could be employed for high resolution fiber sensors. An analysis on the spectrum can also give useful informations on the effective index profile of the TEC-fiber.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the transmittance differences of zirconium core due to thickness within the visible light spectrum. Methods: 36 specimens were divided into 3 groups (0.6mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm) which have each 12 specimens. The size of specimens was 10mm high and 10mm wide. The transmittance of specimens are measured by spectrophotometer Model Cary 500 that can measure infrared-ray, visible wave and ultraviolet-ray. Results: The results shows that there was no significant difference between specimen's thickness and transmittance. Conclusion: The individual's color perception is personal and there are numerous factors that influence on it. In general, human eye can perceive the color of thing only within visible light spectrum but in this experiment through spectrophotometer there was no big difference between specimen's thickness and transmittance. To sum up, The most important factors were a layed porcelain structure and its thickness rather than core thickness in the porcelain crown.

The Spectrum Sensing Technology is the core technology of the Cognitive Radio (CR) System that is one of the future wireless communication technologies. This is the technology that temporarily allocates the frequency bandwidth by scanning surrounding wireless environments to keep licensed terminals and search the unused frequency bandwidth. In this paper, we proposed the efficient Spectrum Sensing Method using the Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT). The Cosine and DVB-H signal with the 6MHz bandwidth is used as the Input Signal. And we confirm the Spectrum Sensing result using Modified Periodogram Method, Welch's Method for compared with Short Time Fourier Transform Algorithm.
This paper presents the design features and preliminary design analysis results of the Wielenga Innovation Static Salt Reactor (WISSR). The WISSR incorporates features that make it both flexible and inherently safe. It is based on innovative technology that controls a nuclear reactor by moving molten salt fuel into or out of the core. The reactor is a low-pressure, fast spectrum transuranic (TRU) burner reactor. Inherent shutdown is achieved by a large negative reactivity feedback of the liquid fuel and by the expansion of fuel out of the core. The core is made of concentric, thin annular fuel chambers containing molten fuel salt. A molten salt coolant passes between the concentric fuel chambers to cool the core. The core has both fixed and variable volume fuel chambers. Pressure, applied by helium gas to fuel reservoirs below the core, pushes fuel out of a reservoir and up into a set of variable volume chambers. A control system monitors the density and temperature of the fuel throughout the core. Using NaCl-(TRU,U)Cl3 fuel and NaCl-KCl-MgCl2 coolant, a road-transportable compact WISSR core design was developed at a power level of 1250 MWt. Preliminary neutronics and thermal-hydraulics analyses demonstrate the technical feasibility of WISSR.
The internal structure is subjected to dynamic analysis due to the structural integrity. The internal structure shall be installed in the vertical hole call IR1 of reactor core. In order to verify the deflection of the internal structure, the mode and response spectrum analysis of the internal structure was performed. The natural frequency of the internal structure is 11.6 Hz(mode 1 and 2) and deflections of the internal structure are less than values of allowable design (3.2 mm).
This embedded module measures significant wave height and zero crossing periods through spectral energy from a record of time series heave motion. An ARM7TDMI core microcontroller serves as the main control unit which performs the appropriate control and signal conditioning. Monitored wave characteristic is transmitted with satellite modem. Mathematical equations on signal conditioning and experiments procedures are documented in this paper.

This is the technology that temporarily allocates the frequency bandwidth by scanning surrounding wireless environments to keep licensed terminals and search the unused frequency bandwidth. In this paper, we implement the efficient Spectrum Sensing methods based on CR technology in an embedded board. The DVB-H signal with the 6MHz bandwidth is used as the RF input signal. And we confirm the Spectrum Sensing result using Modified Periodogram Method, Welch's Method, SCF Method. And also, We examine the execution speed of each of detailed functions and the performance of Spectrum Sensing methods on TI320C6416 DSP board inserted in an embedded board.
The Spectrum Sensing Technology is the core technology of the Cognitive Radio (CR) System that is one of the future wireless communication technologies. In this paper, we proposed the efficient Spectrum Sensing Method using the Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT) that is the algorithm for Time-Frequency analysis of the raw data. Applied window function to STFT algorithm is a Kaiser window, it is piled up its 50% range. For the simulation, the DVB-H signal with the 6MHz bandwidth is used as the Input Signal. And we confirm the Spectrum Sensing result using Modified Periodogram Method, Welch's Method for compared with Short Time Fourier Transform Algorithm. And also, Spectrum Sensing Module is implemented using embedded board.
Exposure rates due to leakage gamma-rays from operating reactors TRIGA Mark II and III were measured in a horizontal plane by means of scintillation spectrometry using a 3"$\times$3" cylindrical Nal(T1) detector associated with a 400 channel pulse height analyzer under varied conditions of reactor operation. In determining exposure rate due to the leakage gamma-rays at each point of measurement, Moriuchi's spectrum-exposure rate conversion theory was applied instead of using conventional responce matrix method which necessitates very complicated procedures to convert a spectrum into exposure rate. The results show that a basic pattern of "typical" spectrum of the reactor leakage gamma-rays is neither affected by thermal output of the reactor, nor influenced by overall attenuation in radiation intensity. It was indicated that he attenuation of the leakage gamma-rays in air in terms of exposure rate as a whole follows an exponential law, and the total exposure rate due to the leakage gamma-rays at a certain point is nearly proportional to thermal output of the reactor. The complexity in spectrum measured for a movable core reactor, TRIGA Mark III, was analyzed through spectrum resolution, and proper judgement of the leakage gamma-rays in a complex spectrum was discussed.ctrum was discussed.
A macroscopic cross section generation model was developed for the conceptual horizontal, compact high temperature gas reactor (HC-HTGR). Because there are many sources of spectral effects in the design and analysis of the core, conventional LWR methods have limitations for accurate simulation of the HC-HTGR using a neutron diffusion core neutronics simulator. Several super-cell model configurations were investigated to consider the spectral effect of neighboring cells. A new history variable was introduced for the existing library format to more accurately account for the history effect from neighboring nodes and reactivity control drums. The macroscopic cross section library was validated through comparison with cross sections generated using full core Monte Carlo models and single cell cross section for both 3D core steady-state problems and 2D and 3D depletion problems. Core calculations were then performed with the AGREE HTR neutronics and thermal-fluid core simulator using super-cell cross sections. With the new history variable, the super-cell cross sections were in good agreement with the full core cross sections even for problems with significant spectrum change during fuel shuffling and depletion.
