  • STEAM education is an effective teaching method to develop self-problem-solving skills through creative thinking. In order to revitalize STEAM education, various program models are being developed recently. The purpose of this study is to develop a STEAM education program based on the project-based learing method that includes the process of solving global environmental problems. The STEAM element was extracted by linking the zero energy house design with the middle school curriculum, and the STEAM education program was developed considering career activities. It was analyzed whether the developed program can improve STEAM core competence and job preparation ability. The education program was conducted for middle school students and the program was evaluated through questionnaires. In order to strengthen the STEAM competency, project-based learning method was applied and it was able to enhance the active problem solving ability of learners. In addition, opportunities for career experience could be provided through career exploration programs and various activities. Through this STEAM education program, it is expected to contribute to cultivating human resources with convergence knowledge and core competency.

  • This paper describes the work and results of the preliminary Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) for a research reactor in the design phase. This preliminary PSA was undertaken to assess the level of safety for the design of a research reactor and to evaluate whether it is probabilistically safe to operate and reliable to use. The scope of the PSA described here is a Level 1 PSA which addresses the risks associated with core damage. After reviewing the documents and its conceptual design, eight typical initiating events are selected regarding internal events during the normal operation of the reactor. Simple fault tree models for the PSA are developed instead of the detailed model at this conceptual design stage. A total of 32 core damage accident sequences for an internal event analysis were identified and quantified using the AIMS-PSA. LOCA-I has a dominant contribution to the total CDF by a single initiating event. The CDF from the internal events of a research reactor is estimated to be 7.38E-07/year. The CDF for the representative initiating events is less than 1.0E-6/year even though conservative assumptions are used in reliability data. The conceptual design of the research reactor is designed to be sufficiently safe from the viewpoint of safety.

  • In these days, the importance of design becomes increasing and the design aspect that customers decide to purchase products such as television, mobile phone is more important than functional one. And the progress of virtual reality technology enables us to feel the reality from the virtual prototype as the real one. In this paper, we introduce the collaboration design review system consist of MEMPHIS, CORE. We can create a realistic virtual prototype more fastly, conveniently and efficiently using MEMPHIS and carry out the design review through collaboration using CORE. As a result of this study, it would be possible that decision making can be done effectively at early stage of the design process.

  • Novel methods producing supplementary and prosthetic material by cutting or discharge processing via computer design have been proposed as alternatives for traditional casting methods and are being utilized for commercial purposes. The CAD/CAM system used in dentistry can be classified into three-dimensional input of target values, restoration design, and material processing. The marginal fidelity in production of In-Ceram core has important clinical implications and is a key consideration issue in CAD/CAM production as well. Through this research, the author arrived at the following conclusion aaer conducting comparison analysis of marginal fidelities between the In-Ceram core produced via CAD/CAM and that produced through the traditional method ; 1. In the cases of mesial, distal, and lingual margins, the core margins via CAD/CAM produced lower values than those via the traditional method, but the differences were found to be statistically insignificant. 2. In the case of labial flange, the core margins via CAD/CAM produced lower values than those via the traditional method and the differences were found to be statistically significant. (p<0.05) 3. In comparision with overall marginal fidelity, the core margins via CAD/CAM produced lower values than those via the traditional method, but the differences were found to be statistically insignificant. 4. Among the core margins produced via the traditional method did not have statistically significant differences but fir those produced via CAD/CAM had statistically significant differences between labial and lingual sides and between labial and mesial sides. (p <0.05).

  • Number of children cared by child care centers has getting up almost half of the from zero to five year age group in korea. Home care children' activities are reported more active and natural than those of center care children. So this study seek the design guidelines for the residential core model of child care centers as second home in korea. The residential core model by Anita Lui Olds was selected and ten domestic center cases were surveyed for guidelines. Firstly, daily-residential core model is learning by daily life at home, and is equiped with cooking kitchenet and group activity area in group room. Secondly, play-residental core model is learning by playing by self, and is equiped with acting, eating and reading common area clustering two or three group room. Thirdly, eco-residental core model is learning by eco-friendly activities, and is equiped with companying, cooperating and sharing area. Fourthly, project-residental core model is learning by project by self, and is equiped with drawing, experimenting and presenting common area. Fifthly, the space of residential core model is organized with three or four group room and clustering living or common area. The larger the center is, the more the cluster is vertically. Facility area and outdoor playground per child is about 7 and $3m^2$.

  • This paper realize power control embedded system with one master of Core-A 32-bit RISC processor and several slaves controling power with synchronized digital signals. Core-A platform is consisted of Core-A processor, AMBA bus, SSRAM, AC97, DMA, UART, GPIO etc. Slave is made by both digital part and analog part. The former generates various power control patterns synchronized with master signal. The latter converts 220V power proportional to 4 bit digital signals. design of Embedded system is executed in Flowrian II, in which software is cross-compiled and hardware is verified by simulation. Embedded system is implemented in FPGA board and CPLD chips as well as PCB board for analog power control.

  • Injection molding have been used for manufacturing various fields of automotive interior trims for years. The demands on the injection molding technique are grown with the further development of the automobile technique and the design presentations for cost reduction and environment-friendly. This paper shows that multi-component injection conditions are different from general injection, also shows how to optimize part design and mold design and how to manufacturing through the efficient use of multi-component injection in development process using core back system. To fulfill this purpose, all influential process parameters related to the quality of automobile parts were analyzed in terms of the correlation between them. Base on that, a innovative process will be developed by injection engineers to implement it in practice.
