A Study on Secure Contents Transer Based on Home Network (홈 네트워크 기반의 안전한 콘텐츠 전송에 관한 연구)

  • Home networks is a network composed of devices in home and is being expanded by evolving devices. Also, The number of digital contents in home network has been increasing steadily. But it is difficult to continually protect the rights of digital contents due to lack of interoperability among contents devices. Besides, a license has to be re-issued by DRM sever for contents transfer between devices. Thus, this paper proposes framework which can freely transfer the contents to another device through mutual device authentication and a system that can decrease overload of license management of the DRM server and that enable users outside home network to use contents through user authentication.

  • Bluetooth 4.0 is a technology suitable for the Internet of things that is used for communication between various devices. This technology is suitable for developing a service by combining with automobiles. In this study, a security authentication system was designed by linking Bluetooth 4.0 technology and a vehicle system as an implementation example of an object internet service. A procedure was designed for security authentication and an authentication method is proposed using a data server. When the security authentication function is provided, various additional services can be developed using the information collection function of the risk notification and user action history. In addition, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) technology, which is a wireless communication technology that enables low-power communication and low-power communication in the process of the standardization and development of Bluetooth technology and technology, improves the battery life through the use of RFID or NFC This study expanded the range possible. The security service can be extended by expanding the scope of authentication by the contactless type. Using the proposed system, a customized service can be provided while overcoming the problems of an existing radio frequency (RF)-based system, portability, and battery usage problem.

Anonymity Certification Technique of a Smart Card base for Personal Information Protection (개인정보보호를 위한 스마트카드 기반의 익명 인증 기법)

  • Regarding the official authentication method which is a strong encrypt method for financial transactions, there has recently been a concern for the problem of storage. As a solution for such problems, this study provides the anonymous authentication method based on the smart card used for such a purpose by utilizing the pseudo ID replacing the user's personal data. Such an anonymous authentication method makes it possible to prevent any inside leakage, intermediary attack, limited re-transmission attack, service-denying attack, directional safety attack and secret inspector attack in regard to the user's personal data. As a result, there would be no concern for the leakage of any personal data. In comparative analysis, after executing the comparison and analysis process through the experiment for the authentication process by using the previously-used smart card, the new one has shown about 10% a high level of efficiency for the encrypt and decrypt process together with excellent features in terms of flexibility in regard to the user's anonymity and tracking ability.

  • In this paper, we analyze vulnerabilities in a remote authentication protocol using smartcards which was proposed by Bindu et al. and propose an improved scheme. The proposed scheme can prevent from restricted replay attack and denial of service attack by replacing time stamp with random number. In addition, this protocol can guarantee user anonymity by transmitting encrypted user's ID using AES cipher algorithm. The computational load in our protocol is decreased by removing heavy exponentiation operations and user efficiency is enhanced due to addition of password change phase in which a user can freely change his password. Furthermore, we really implement the proposed authentication protocol using a STM smartcard and authentication server. Then we prove the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed remote authentication system.

  • U-City includes various information devices and network techniques, which connect among several information devices. Integrated Management Center, which is the core element of u-City, is designed to manage all services of u-City and carry out the control function for a city. Accordingly, u-City needs the methods of user authentication and security, so these methods must be implemented to integrated management center. This paper is devoted to describe some conventional authentication techniques, and authentication methods and procedures that may be available to u-City network context. Proposed u-City integrated authentication model assigns IP to only right user after authenticating information terminals and users in u-City and authorizes users according to the policy, so this model plays an important role for the security of integrated management center.

  • With the development of Internet communication and the use of a variety of online services has been greatly expanded. Therefore, the importance of authentication techniques for users of online services has increased. The most commonly used methods for user authentication is a technique that utilizes a prearranged password. However, the existing password scheme for authentication must use the same password every time. Therefore, the password being leaked by attackers, it can be used maliciously. In this paper, we proposed the Variable Password Generation Method in Internet Authentication System that generates a new password using information such as the access date, time, and IP address when user logs in. The method proposed in this paper prevents disclosure of personal information due to password exposure and improves the reliability and competitiveness in the field of security systems.

  • As mobile technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart homes and financial technologies (FinTech) are developed, authentication by smart devices is used everywhere. As a result, presence-based biometric authentication using smart devices has become a new mainstream in knowledge-based authentication methods like the existing passwords. The electrocardiogram (ECG) is less prone to forgery, and high-level personal identification is its unique feature from among various biometric authentication methods, such as the pulse, fingerprints, the face, and the iris. Biometric authentication using an ECG is receiving a great deal of attention due to its uses in healthcare and FinTech. In this study, we implemented an ECG authentication system that allows users to easily measure and authenticate their ECG waveforms using a miniaturized wearable device, rather than a large and expensive measurement device. The implemented ECG authentication system identifies ECG features through P-Q-R-S-T feature point identification, and was user-certified under the proposed authentication protocols. Finally, assessment of measurements in a majority of adult males showed a relatively low false acceptance rate of 1.73%, and a low false rejection rate of 4.14%, in a stable normal state. In a high-activity state, the false acceptance rate was 13.72%, and the false rejection rate was 21.68%. In a high-heart rate state, the false acceptance rate was 10.48%, and the false rejection rate was 11.21%.

  • In this paper, as a proper authentication method, we made it authenticate a user who has unauthorized device with using authorized device received from telecommunication company using QR code. We designed a better performance protocol which can authenticate mutually using safer and uncomplicated operations than existing user authentication system. Proposed user authentication system authenticates previously authorized mobile device without any information of client who is requesting to get access from outside, so we can basically prevent attack from hackers. In the future, we can possibly use it as user authentication method in common internet environment or we could study on user unique information instead of mobile device information.

  • As the IT industry develops, the smart-phone technology and functions which are actively being studied at the moment greatly influence the entire living environment. With the smart-phone technology and functions, people's interest for the wireless LAN which can be used to get access to the Internet anytime anywhere is gradually increasing. However, since the malicious attacker can easily carry out hacking or approach the contents due to the characteristics of the wireless radio wave, the personal information with a high level of importance for data security is easily exposed due to Spoofing, Denial of Service attack and Man in the Middle attack. Therefore, the demand for security is gradually increasing. In this paper, the safe wireless network service environment is provided by supplementing the vulnerability in regard to Spoofing, Session Hijacking and Man in the Middle attack after executing the client's authentication process, the AP authentication process and the Mobile Agency authentication process with the client's information in the USIM, the AP information and the Mobile Agency information when the client uses the wireless Internet through the Mobile Agency AP access in the smart phone environment.

  • Internet banking, electronic financial services and internet telephony service can be available on smart phone recently. In this case, more robust authentication mechanisms should be provided for enhancing security on it. In this study, a facial biometric ID based one-time password generation mechanism is designed and implemented for enhancing user authentication on smart phone. After capturing a facial biometric data using camera module on smart phone, it is sent to server to generate one-time biometric ID. Finally one-time password will be generated by client module after receiving the one time biometric ID based challenge token from the server. Using proposed biometric ID based one-time password mechanism, it is possible for us to provide more secure user authentication service on smart phone for SIP protocol.
