Networking Technologies for IPTV2.0 Service (IPTV2.0 서비스를 위한 네트워킹 기술)

  • The convergence of broadcasting and telecommunication services is being accelerated by broadband networks, digital broadcasting and Web2.0. This paper describes the definition and service characteristics of IPTV as a representative of broadcasting and telecommunication convergence services. Especially, the changes of infrastructure and technology for IPTV2.0 are addressed in terms of the service features of mobility, intelligence and participation. IPTV2.0 shall be characterized by the open IPTV service based on Web2.0 and the mobile IPTV service over the heterogeneous networks employing various wireless/wired access technologies. The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Service Delivery Platform (SDP) technologies are increasingly considered to support the personalization and openness. The mobility management technology is being evolved to provide QoS-guaranteed mobile communication services to users at anytime and anywhere. IPTV2.0 services and platforms are also anticipated to be core components to achieve knowledge-based ubiquitous society. IPTV2.0 contents are required to be integrated with the enhanced metadata to efficiently support search, selection, convergence and delivery of the contents. Moreover, those contents shall be enhanced to provide the scalable services which is adaptable to the network status and user preferences. Therefore, the networking technologies for IPTV2.0 should tightly cooperate with application services and adaptive contents. Those technologies will be developed to construct the ubiquitous content service platform considering the evolution of networks and various converged services.

  • In swarm robot systems, each robot must act by itself according to the its states and environments, and if necessary, must cooperate with other robots in order to carry out a given task. Therefore it is essential that each robot has both learning and evolution ability to adapt the dynamic environments. In this paper, reinforcement learning method with SVM based on structural risk minimization and distributed genetic algorithms is proposed for behavior learning and evolution of collective autonomous mobile robots. By distributed genetic algorithm exchanging the chromosome acquired under different environments by communication each robot can improve its behavior ability. Specially, in order to improve the performance of evolution, selective crossover using the characteristic of reinforcement learning that basis of SVM is adopted in this paper.

  • We developed a Part Information Brokering System, namely PIBS, that can inter-link part suppliers and buyers using WWW(World Wide Web). The major contribution of this paper is that the system provides a 3D collaboration environment that enables multiple users to share the same workspace where they cooperatively manipulate part features in real time. PIBS carries out two major functions: one to maintain part data in a part library, and the other to provide the means for the clients to cooperate. An object-oriented database is used for the part library which stores apart information registered by part suppliers. VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language) the ISO standard for 3D visualization on WWW, is used to represent 3D part models. Several Java programs have been implemented to support synchronous and a synchronous communication of the 3D models. Once the users are interconnected through the system, a user's manipulation of part objects is transparently and instantaneously transmitted to the others. This means that all the participants can are the same view and movement of the 3D part models. Since the system is developed using a Java applet-server architecture, it requires no additional software other than standard web browser. The prototype system has been successfully implemented, and demonstrated its applicability to virtual 3D part information sharing.

  • An Ad-hoc network will operate properly and provide smooth communication when nodes cooperate mutually with each of them having equal authority. Although it is possible to form a network conisting only of authenticated nodes in order to ensure reliability, authentication by itself is not sufficient to remove malicious nodes and their activities jeopardizing the whole network. Detection and prevention of such activities are vital for maintaining a safe and reliable network, but research on this matter is relatively lacking. Hence a suggestion is made on how to detect and prevent malicious or uncooperative ones among the nodes forming a network by a relationship of mutual trust, thereby maintaining safety and stability of the network and improving its processing abilities

  • Recently, the comparative gap of technology and product has been decreased in the global market, and the globalization has been extended rapidly. Industries try to get de facto standard as the global standard. De facto standard has become a standard not because it has been approved by a standards organization but because it is widely used and recognized by the industry as being standard. Advanced countries already have their own organizations under the government, and they cooperate tightly with companies. As a result, we also try to have the organization and build the good relationship between companies and the government to get de facto standard in the global market.

Improving Security and Privacy-Preserving in Multi-Authorities Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption

  • Most of existing privacy-preserving multi-authorities attribute-based encryption schemes (PP-MA-ABE) only considers the privacy of the user identity (ID). However, in many occasions information leakage is caused by the disclosing of his/her some sensitive attributes. In this paper, we propose a collusion-resisting ciphertext-policy PP-MA-ABE (CRPP-MACP-ABE) scheme with hiding both user's ID and attributes in the cloud storage system. We present a method to depict anonymous users and introduce a managerial role denoted by IDM for the management of user's anonymous identity certificate ($AID_{Cred}$). The scheme uses $AID_{Cred}$ to realize privacy-preserving of the user, namely, by verifying which attribute authorities (AAs) obtain the blinded public attribute keys, pseudonyms involved in the $AID_{Cred}$ and then distributes corresponding private keys for the user. We use different pseudonyms of the user to resist the collusion attack launched by viciousAAs. In addition, we utilize IDM to cooperate with multiple authorities in producing consistent private key for the user to avoid the collusion attack launched by vicious users. The proposed CRPP-MACP-ABE scheme is proved secure. Some computation and communication costs in our scheme are finished in preparation phase (i.e. user registration). Compared with the existing schemes, our scheme is more efficient.

  • With the development of techniques, robots are getting smaller, and the number of robots needed for application is greater and greater. How to coordinate large number of autonomous robots through local interactions has becoming an important research issue in robot community. Swarm Robot Systems (SRS) is a system that independent autonomous robots in the restricted environments infer their status from pre-assigned conditions and operate their jobs through the cooperation with each other. In the SRS, a robot contains sensor part to percept the situation around them, communication part to exchange information, and actuator part to do a work. Especially, in order to cooperate with other robots, communicating with other robots is one of the essential elements. Because Bluetooth has many advantages such as low power consumption, small size module package, and various standard protocols, it is rated as one of the efficient communicating technologies which can apply to small-sized robot system. In this paper, we will develop Bluetooth communicating system for autonomous robots. And we will discuss how to construct and what kind of procedure to develop the communicating system for group behavior of the SRS under intelligent space.

A Study on Development of Performance Assessment Tools for Mathematics in the Primary School (초등수학과 수행평가도구 개발 -1, 2학년 포트폴리오를 중심으로-)

  • This study aims to develop performance assessment tools for mathematics in the primary school. In order to achieve this aim, it reviews the tics in the primary school. In order to achieve this aim, it reviews the meaning and the purpose of mathematics performance assessment, and the characteristics of performance assessment tasks. Then the framework for portfolio developed in this study is introduced. This portfolio is called 'mathematical thinking and applying'. It aims at balanced assessment for improvement of mathematics instruction. It is composed of journal writhing, problem by the student, constructed task, work samples, written test, self assessment, teacher's comment and parents' comment. The criteria of performance tasks is categorized in impact, reasoning, accuracy and communication. The procedures of development of these tasks are as follows: the analysis of mathematics curriculum for the primary school, the design of performance tasks with considering teaching unit goals, designing rubrics, discussing these tasks with teachers in primary school, modifying them when is needed, observing the process of children's task performing, interviewing with teachers and final modifying. After performance assessment tasks are implemented, the answers by the students is analyzed using rubrics. Then anchor papers are selected. Also, the errors of children are analyzed. Through the process, teachers can obtain the information of children for improvement of mathematics instruction. Finally in order to generalize this study, I suggest that we need to cooperate with the field of education and to establish expert assessment groups.

  • In this paper, a total operating environment equipped with onboard wireless communication systems and ground-based mission control systems is proposed for simultaneous operation of multiple UAVs. A variety of operating structures are studied and classified systematically based on types and usages of the components. For each operating system, the strength, weakness and reliability aspects are investigated. Based on these results, a proper operating system configuration is determined and components are developed for mission formation flight. Proposed system can make a formation flight of various UAVs, execute complex missions decentralizing mission to several UAVs and cooperate several missions.

  • This research conducted empirical and comparative study following interview concerning the relationship of acceptance attitudes and expected effects of the teleworking between Korean and Canada organizations. Independent variable was acceptance attitude, and the expected effect as dependent variable. Totally, 201 responded questionnaires (Korea : 118, Canada : 83) were analyzed for multiple regression and mean difference between groups. On January 1, 2015, Canada had agreed FTA (free trade agreement) with Korea. Therefore, many organizations can have opportunities for sharing hands in social infrastructures and business area. As a result, the research found out that teleworking can positively improve employee's quality of life, efficiency of works. Moreover, respondents informed us that it may give us national and social cost saving. The BYOD (bring your own device) will be helpful to make employees do more active communication. This comparative research expects that two countries have some insights to cooperate in smart work or teleworking. In addition, several Korean companies can have chances to export IT technologies to Canada market.
