  • This paper considers an approach of secondary user selection method in cooperative spectrum sensing, which two users with the best SNR in sensing channel and in reporting channel, respectively, are selected to cooperate with each other in the spectrum sensing. The sensing results reported by two users are then combined to detect PU signal operation. A comparison between this proposed method with conventional selection technique in which only the user having the best sensing channel SNR is selected shows that the proposed method outperforms. We make an assumption that sensing channels experience identical, independent distributed (i.i.d) Rayleigh fading and the reporting channels are invariant and non-identical. Simulation results are derived for demonstration.

  • According to the Korea Robotics Industry Association, the number of robots companies, sales and production are steadily increasing until 2016, and the global robot market outlook is expected to continue to increase until 2025. We need to develop more attention to robots that can make life easier for us and can replace human tasks that we cannot do. It is predicted that robots will be more developed in the future with the above statistics, and future robots will be more activated by robots that can depend on each other, fix each other, and adapt to the changing environment without humans. Therefore, the shape of the robots in the future will be developed as a group robot(swarmbot) that cooperate with each other while the robot works. These robots have been studied for a longtime, but there are only two community robots that are applied in real life, only two of which are jailbreaking robots made in KAIST and KIVA robots made in Amazon company. In the future, as these robots develop more and more, and environment where robots can live without human intervention is created, so that a plurality of robots can collaborate and do individual work.

  • An Ad-hoc network will operate properly and provide smooth communication when nodes cooperate mutually with each of them having equal authority. Although it is possible to form a network consisting only of authenticated nodes in order to ensure reliability, authentication by itself is not sufficient to remove malicious nodes and their activities jeopardizing the whole network. Detection and prevention of such activities are vital for maintaining a safe and reliable network, but research on this matter is relatively lacking. Hence a suggestion is made on how to detect and prevent malicious or uncooperative ones among the nodes forming a network by a relationship of mutual trust, thereby maintaining safety and stability of the network and improving its processing abilities

  • With the growing usage of the networks, the world-wide Internet has become the main means to exchange data and carry out transactions. It has also become the main means to attack hosts. To solve the security problems which occur in the network such as Internet, we import software products of network security elements like an IDS (Intrusion Detection System) and a firewall. In this paper, we have designed and constructed the General Simulation Environment of Network Security model composed of multiple IDSes and a firewall which coordinate by CNP (Contract Net Protocol) for the effective detection of the intrusion. The CNP, the methodology for efficient integration of computer systems on heterogeneous environment such as distributed systems, is essentially a collection of agents, which cooperate to resolve a problem. Command console in the CNP is a manager who controls tie execution of agents or a contractee, who performs intrusion detection. In the Network Security model, each model of simulation environment is hierarchically designed by DEVS (Discrete EVent system Specification) formalism. The purpose of this simulation is to evaluate the characteristics and performance of CNP architecture with rete pattern matching algorithm and the application of rete pattern matching algorithm for the speeding up the inference cycle phases of the intrusion detection expert system.

  • EPS-TOPIK is a test of Korean proficiency which is enforced at the level of Korean government for the selection of competent foreign workers. Therefore, it must ensure validity and reliability, and practicability as a language assessment tool. For seeking a way of developing EPS-TOPIK, in this paper, the current state of EPS-TOPIK was investigated based upon the materials published by the Korean government, and the questions of EPS-TOPIK were analysed. Together with this, newspaper articles both in Korea and in foreign countries were also analyzed, and the directors of the EPS center abroad were interviewed. According to the survey results, as expected, the local environment of Korean education is poor in a number of ways to improve the Korean communication skills of foreign workers, as well as to prepare the EPS-TOPIK. To improve the efficiency of the EPS-TOPIK and to enhance the Korean communication skills of foreign workers, the Korean language institutions including the King Sejong Institute, which are in charge of the Korean language education should closely cooperate with the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, which is responsible for all of the influx of foreign workers.

  • Femtocell is an economical solution to provide high speed indoor communication instead of the conventional macro-cellular networks. Especially, OFDMA femtocell is considered in the next generation cellular network such as 3GPP LTE and mobile WiMAX system. Although the femtocell has great advantages to accommodate indoor users, interference management problem is a critical issue to operate femtocell network. Existing OFDMA resource management algorithms only consider optimizing system-centric metric, and cannot manage the co-channel interference. Moreover, it is hard to cooperate with other femtocells to control the interference, since the self-configurable characteristics of femtocell. This paper proposes a novel interference-aware resource allocation algorithm for OFDMA femtocell networks. The proposed algorithm allocates resources according to a new objective function which reflects the effect of interference, and the heuristic algorithm is also introduced to reduce the complexity of the original problem. The Monte-Carlo simulation is performed to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm compared to the existing solutions.

  • The 21st century will see the formation of a“Cyber society”that, while separate form the real world, will cooperate with it, leading to the further expansion and development of world society. Cyber society allows the formation of virtual space through the connection of multiple computers in a network. In this virtual space, multiple users can communicate with each other and can collect and exchange information while moving about freely and engaging in activities. Three main technologies are vital to the construction of the Cyber society: platform technology for converting multimedia information to optical signals and performing digital processing and communication processing on such signals; communications network technology for transferring these signals from one point to another; and application technology for configuring the Cyber society that will be formed on this network. This paper describes platform technology and network technology with an emphasis on their relationship to application technology for configuring the Cyber society, and will also discuss InterSpace, one of the cyber society platform system of the Cyber society.
