The goal of this study is finding flow-map in conversation what is going on user and embodied conversational agent by analysing that conversation. Specifically, this study not only find elements of conversation, but also draw out patterns of conversation can be exist for dialogue ability between user and Embodied conversational agent. To do this, we collect data through in-depth one to one interview, and then we analysis collected data to try to find out element of user-agent conversation based on qualitative research refer to the theory of conversation analytics and type of conversation. As a result, six flow map is deducted Especially, the irregular conversation is hard to find in human-human conversation, and the frequency is the most in data. In addition, when elements of interruption came out, be hostile to partner or correct the press conversation. This study can have positive effect to embodied conversation agent developer, user and service offerer because this study find the type of conversation through analysis that between embodied conversational agent and user.
The people who complain of pain due to voice causes such as vocal cord nodules is increasing year by year. If the voice is changed, it is possible to give to colleagues discomfort or inconvenience during conversation. In this paper, we propose a way to reduce discomfort by improving the husky voice during the conversation. A VBF (voice boosting filter) is firstly designed to improve the husky voices. This filter may further emphasize the formant frequency components than the frequency components around the formant frequency, because the value is relatively greater than the other frequency. And a fixed-point type DSP chipset, TMS320F2812 is applied to the system, the operating frequency is 150MHz. The system was implemented as a compact for use as a portable, its size is $2.5cm{\times}10cm$. Through the test using three husky voices with some type of statement, it was satisfactory in processing speed and sound quality improvement.
In order to analyze the factors influencing career maturity of general high school students, this study verified the moderated mediating effect of career exploration efficacy by the frequency of conversation with parents in the process of self-awareness and class attitude affecting career maturity. For the study of the second year of general high school, the results of verifying the moderated mediating effect using SPSS 22 and Model 7 of PROCESS macro from the results of the first year survey of the Korea Education and Employment Panel (KEEP) II are as follows. First, positive self-awareness and class attitude had a positive effect on career maturity. Second, career exploration efficacy mediates self-awareness, class attitude, and career maturity. Third, in the relationship between self-awareness and career maturity, there is no moderated mediating effect on career exploration efficacy by the frequency of conversation with parents. Fourth, in the relationship between class attitude and career maturity, a confrontation-moderated mediating effect on career exploration efficacy by conversation frequency with parents appears. Based on these studies, implications and future tasks for career maturity of general high school students were proposed.
The purpose of this study is to analyze what attitude housewives hove to the TV advertisement and how their purchasing behavior is proceeding by information acquisition. Questionaire survey method was used in this research. The sample was taken from 437 housewives living is Seoul, form 4th of Feb. to 13th of Feb, in 1991. Used statistical methods were Frequency, Percentage, Crosstabs, One-way Anova, Duncan-test, and Regression Analysis. The major findings are summarized as follows : 1) The attitude to the TV advertisement according to the socio-demographic variables : TV advertisement seeing and hearing, the necessity of TV advertisement, and the attitude to the new advertisement are all found significant difference by age and education. The feeling to the false of TV advertisement is found significant difference by age, education, and income. 2) The purchasing behavior with TV advertisement information is most influenced by utilization of TV advertisement for all four goods(home medicine, milk product, detergent, durable goods). 3) The interest to the TV advertisement according to the TV advertisement information acquired: The degree to the utilization of TV advertisement and the necessity of TV advertisement when they buy goods were most influenced by conversation about the TV advertisement. 4) The purchasing behavior to the TV advertisement information acquired : The degree of influence was more affected by conversation about the TV advertisement for four goods, The degree of confidence was influenced by conversation about the TV advertisement for four goods. The degree of confidence was influenced by conversation about the TV advertisement for house medicine and detergent. The degree of satisfaction was not significant for all four goods, and the comparative appraisement was influenced by conversation about the TV advertisement for detergent and durable goods.
The present paper aims at comparing the two modes of CMC - synchronous and asynchronous - in terms of discourse markers used in turn-initial positions. It further attempts to examine the viability and limitations of these two modes of CMC in fostering EFL learners' face-to-face conversation skills. For these purposes, the present study analyzed 33 Korean EFL learners' Web chat and E-mail exchange data. Discourse markers in the participants' Web chat transcripts and those in their E-mail transcripts were identified and then compared in terms of their frequency and functions. The analysis revealed that the participants show difference in their preference for discourse markers depending on the modes of CMC. Also, the functions of discourse markers used for Web chat showed were strikingly different from those for e-mail. Especially, e-mail discourse markers revealed greater discrepancy from the markers in face-to-face conversation. The differences were found to be attributable to the time factor involved with the turn-taking systems of the two modes of CMC, especially the degree of instantaneousness in their turn-taking. Findings suggest that the turn taking skills and discourse marker use in CMC is not applicable to face-to-face conversation contexts. Pedagogical implications are discussed.

Prosodic features of speech are known to play an important role in the transmission of linguistic information in human conversation. Their roles in the transmission of para- and non- linguistic information are even much more. In spite of their importance in human conversation, from engineering viewpoint, research focuses are mainly placed on segmental features, and not so much on prosodic features. With the aim of promoting research works on prosody, a research project 'Prosody and Speech Processing' is now going on. A rough sketch of the project is first given in the paper. Then, the paper introduces several prosody-related research works, which are going on in our laboratory. They include, corpus-based fundamental frequency contour generation, speech rate control for dialogue-like speech synthesis, analysis of prosodic features of emotional speech, reply speech generation in spoken dialogue systems, and language modeling with prosodic boundaries.
The purpose of this research is to examine the characteristics of team interaction according to the creativity of team members. Research subjects to achieve this purpose included 28 students who are in engineering education in the College of Education at A University in Daejeon and have taken robot-related courses. Through first and second MBTI, and TTCT tests, the final homogeneous and heterogeneous teams were formed, and an experimental study was conducted by developing team design activity assignment. The major research results were as follows. In terms of a comprehensive view on interaction frequency, both homogeneous team and heterogeneous team suggested had the highest frequency in suggesting opinions. However, each of the team members in the homogeneous team had different communication frequency among each other while each team member in the heterogeneous team had almost similar frequency. A microscopic analysis of the communication process of homogeneous team showed that the team members' roles were divided among each other in communication. Next, according to the microscopic analysis of the heterogeneous team's communication process, the team members exchanged opinions in the beginning, talked to themselves in words that were hard to understand the meanings, and they stopped having conversations in the end. Due to such decrease in communication, two team members could not solve the confusing state of being unable to understand each other's opinions and failed to complete their assignments. The microscopic analysis demonstrated that the homogeneous team had a smooth interaction, because when one team member suggested an opinion during a conversation, other team members agreed with it through a discussion. However, the members in the heterogeneous team experienced confusion as they could not understand each other's conversation and could not overcome this problem, leading to lack of conversations.
Objectives: This study observes how providing family support - financial, emotional, and instrumental - is related to depression in babyboom women. Method: I analysed data from the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families 5th wave, collected by the Korean Women's Development Institute. The analysis was conducted using regression, t-test, Chi-square test, frequency analysis, and Pearson's correlation analysis. Results: Financial support for grown-up children, either married or unmarried, increases depression in babyboom women. In the dimension of instrumental support, caring for grandchildren reduces babyboom women's depression. It implies that contact with grandchildren is perceived as an emotional support rather than a physical burden. The results of this study also show that babyboom women are comforted by living with their own parents, but not by living with parents-in-law. The most impressive observation, however, is in the dimension of emotional support, which showed that the conversation with elderly parents reduces baby-boom women's depression, but that the conversation with married children increases it. The opposite directions in the effects seem to be related to the subjects of the conversations. The subjects of the conversation with children are mostly about problems and agenda of the children, while those with elderly parents are mainly about parents' health and care for each other. Conclusions: The results of the analyses suggest that babyboom women should become less involved with their grown-up children's lives. It also calls for the societal efforts to be put into building up the support system, especially for eco-boom generation, to reduce babyboomer's burden of supporting the children.

The purpose of this study is twofold: (i) to develop a teaching and learning plan and practical performance assessment tools for the improvement of teenager-parent communication and relationships as well as explore their effects on the communication in the everyday family life; and (ii) to find the underlying problems of teenager- parent communication through conversation analysis and to provide a improved dialogue model. We provided the experimental group with a performance task of communication training between teenagers and their parents in the real family situation while the control group practiced communication skills in a learning situation. However for both classes, before and after performance tasks were equally provided. The experimental group exhibited a longer conversation time with their parents, better communication skills, and higher degrees of relational satisfaction than the control group. Conversation analysis revealed that the experimental group reduced the use of blocking techniques in the teenager-parent conversations more than the control group, and all so raised the frequency of functional communications more than the control group. In both areas of communication in the experimental group was significantly improved, Most notably, a problem-solving case through no-lose conflict resolution methods was effective, succeeding by 70% in the e experimental group and 43.3% in the control group. Parents use blocking techniques like admonition, lecturing, blaming. sarcastic remarking, ordering and so forth, while teenagers use dispute, avoidance, blaming, and teasing in this order. The communication problems during the conversation process, teenagers' evasive and rebellious way of speaking instigates adverse communication responses from parents, so their conversation tends to unfold as ambiguous evasion opposed to: inquiring or evasion by short answers vs. ordering-preaching, or disputing vs. criticizing-making sarcastic, disputing vs. disputing-teaching, and criticizing vs. criticizing.

Background and Objectives : Electrolarynx has been used as one of the methods of rehabilitation for the laryngectomees. Previous electrolarynx could not alter frequency and intensity simultaneously. This institute developed an electrolarynx named "Evada" using FSR(force sensing resistor) sensor, which can control the frequency(and/or intensity) simultaneously. This study was performed for the normal control and laryngectomees with three types of electrolarynx (Evada, Servox-inton, Nu-vois) to reveal functional characteristics of Evada Materials and Methods : five laryngectomees and five normal adults were made to express there sentences(discriptive sentence, "You stay here" ; question sentence, "You stay here?" ; exclamation sentence, "You!! stay here!"), using three types of electrolarynx. Frequency change and intensity change from first and last vowel was calculated in three sentences and analyzed statistically by paired T-test. Results : The frequency change in the question sentence and exclamation sentence was more prominent in Evada than in Servox-inton and Nu-vois. The intensity change in the question sentence and exclamation sentence was also more prominent in Evada than in Servox-inton and Nu-vois. Conclusions : Evada could control frequency and intensity simultaneously and control degree of frequency(and/or intensity) according to the pressing force into the button. Evada could adjust continuously frequency and intensity during conversation. So, Evada is better in producing intonation and contrastive stress than Nu-vois and Servox-inton.
