  • The Government provides a financial assistance to stimulate firm R&D and innovation activities. Previous papers on the impact of public subsidies on firm R&D investments mainly had a focus on an individual policy tool regardless of potential impacts of other policy instruments. This study addresses this gap by examining the effects of policy mix regarding a subsidy and a tax credit. The empirical analyses from fixed effect model using Survey on Technology of SMEs 2015-2017 revealed valuable points. First, policy mix induces more R&D investment of SMEs, which in turn, shows a complementary relationship between two instruments. Second, even if impact of tax credit controlled, subsidy is positively associated with SMEs R&D investment. These findings justify policy mix interventions to promote SME R&D activity. Moreover, grants can be applied as a more useful policy tool for SMEs that are constrained by resources and capabilities.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to measure and evaluate changes of visual responses in viewing a 2D and 3D (three-dimensional) image. Methods: The subjects were 44 college students aged 19 to 25 years with normal binocular vision. The visual responses measured were CA/C (convergence accommodation/convergence) ratio, convergence-induced PD(interpupillary distance), accommodative responses, perceived distance in viewing a 3D image. Results: Convergence and accommodative responses in viewing the 3D image were significantly larger (p<0.05) than in 2D. A moderate positive correction was found between CA/C ratio and accommodative response (r = 0.477, p = 0.001). It was indicated that smaller PD had larger depth perception. Convergence in viewing the 3D image was significantly larger (p<0.05) than that at cognitive distance. Conclusions: The visual fatigue may be more intense in larger CA/C ratio and smaller PD when viewing 3D images.

  • In this paper, IT and sports services, a study on the R&D strategy for convergence. The sports industry is based on the consumption of the population continues to increase participation in sport has increased due to the increase in leisure time and increase the income of the people. Differentiated and national income is expected to be $ 20,000 per period is the expansion of high-tech sports consumption in developing countries than developed countries and is active in a variety of sports goods of high consumption, you can feel the satisfaction of the convergence of high value enemy Sports Consumption the situation in and growing rapidly. In this paper, we conduct R&D Strategies for the integration of IT technology and services for the development of sports industry, sports. We hope that this helps the sport policy development and national sports industry overseas markets such as the development of the domestic sports industry achieve in this study was small.

  • This study aims to make suggestions for more effective budget utilization and R&D project investment through verification of the efficiency of research results for the government's R&D projects. Efficiency was analyzed using Data Envelope Analysis(DEA) and 'Malmquist Index analysis' for the research results of convergence research projects organized by the National Science and Technology Research Association. The analysis targets were convergence research projects organized by the National Science and Technology Research Association and general entrusted research projects by government-funded research institutes, and dynamic analysis was conducted using DEA and Malmquist Index analysis. As a result of the analysis, the convergence research project showed high efficiency from the static perspective of DEA. On the other hand, from a dynamic perspective through the Malmquist Index analysis method, the efficiency of the general consignment project gradually declined, while the efficiency of the convergence research project improved every year. This suggests that convergence studies have higher results than general studies. Through the results of this study, we intend to present objective standards for performance evaluation of government R&D investment and provide objective implications for rational investment policies and research project planning of research personnel and research funds to improve efficiency for government-funded research institutes.

  • In this work, the effects of maleic anhydride (MA) content on mechanical properties of chopped carbon fibers (CFs)-reinforced MA-grafted-polypropylene (MAPP) matrix composites. A direct oxyfluorination on CF surfaces was applied to increase the interfacial strength between the CFs and MAPP matrix. The mechanical properties of the CFs/MAPP composites are likely to be different in terms of MA content. Surface characteristics were observed by scanning electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and single fiber contact angle method. The mechanical properties of the composites were also measured by a critical stress intensity factor (KIC). From the KIC test results, the KIC values were increased to a maximum value of 3.4 MPa with the 0.1 % of MA in the PP, and then decreased with higher MA content.

  • In this study, carbonized fibers were prepared by using acidically cross-linked LDPE fibers. The surface morphologies of the carbonized fibers were observed by SEM. The effects of cross-linking process temperatures were studied using thermal analyses such as DSC and TGA. The melting and heating enthalpy of the fibers decreased as the cross-linking temperature increased. The cross-linked fibers had a carbonization yield of over 50%. From SEM results the highest yield of carbonized LDPE-based fibers was obtained by cross-linking at a sulfate temperature ($170^{\circ}C$). As a result, carbonation yield of the carbonized fibers was found to depend on the functions of the cross-linking ratio of the LDPE precursors.

  • This paper presents development of the transponder system which provides an accurate train position, especially for supporting 400km/h high speed train. Here, we analyzed an operating frequency band of the transponder system which can be interoperable with the Eurobalise system already installed in Korea railroad as to be used for the automatic train protection (ATP). By investigating the power frequency band and its data frequency band of the transponder system, we presents the adoptable frequency band for the developed transponder system. Additionally, through the real testbed using HEMU-430X, we evaluate its performance requirement and shows interoperable operation with the Eurobalise system.

  • This study presents the development of a lifetime test bench for the strain wave reducer which is a precision gear reducer of the robot to realize fault diagnosis and failure prognostics. To this end, the lifetime test bench was designed to detect the vertical forward/reverse direction rotation load. Through the lifetime test bench, it is possible to apply the same load spectrum from robot working scenarios. We developed a data integration gateway for fault data collection. Through the development of dedicated software for fault diagnosis and failure prognostics, these data from vibration, noise and temperature sensors were collected and analyzed along with the operation of the lifetime evaluation.

  • When burying underwater cables using robots, heading control is one of the key functions for the robots to improve task efficiency. This paper addresses the heading control issue for URI-T, an ROV for underwater construction tasks, including the burial and maintenance of cables or small diameter pipelines. Through modeling and identifying the heading motion of URI-T, the dynamic characteristics and input limitation are analyzed. Based on the identification results, a PD type controller with appropriate input treatment is designed for the heading control of URI-T. The performance of the heading controller was verified in water tank experiments. The field applicability of the proposed controller was also evaluated through the sea trial of URI-T at the East Sea, with a water depth of 500 m.
