  • Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets have been utilized on various industrial fields such as electric vehicles, generator, robots with actuator, etc, due to their outstanding magnetic properties even 10 times better than conventional magnets. Recently, there are many researches that report magnetic properties improved by controlling microstructure through adjusting alloying elements or conducting various processing. Especially, post-sintering annealing (PSA) can significantly improve the coercivity by modifying the distribution and morphology of Nd-rich phase which formed at grain boundaries. In this study, Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets were subjected to primary heat treatment followed by secondary heat treatment at 460℃, 500℃, and 540℃ to investigate the changes in microstructure and magnetic properties with the secondary heat treatment temperature. EBSD analysis was conducted to compare anisotropic characteristics. Through the SEM and TEM observation for analyzing the morphology and distribution of Nd-rich phase, we investigated the relationship between microstructure and magnetic properties of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets.

  • Macroporous pellets were prepared from industrial waste flyash by foaming method. The surface and inside of flyash pellets, the shape was almost spherical and the average size was about 3 mm, were composed of the spherical pores interconnected through windows. The controlling of pellet size was conducted with solid loading. The flyash pellets with different relative density were characterized for porosity, average pore size, and specific surface area. As results, most physical properties had a tendency to increase as relative density decreased - extension ratio increased. The correlation between relative density and other properties was inspected through microstructural features evaluated by SEM. As a result, high porosity and high specific surface area were estimated to result from the superior connectivity between pores.

  • It is well known that surface texturing improves the tribological properties of mechanical components for enhancing hydro-dynamic effect or serving as a micro reservoir. There are not, however, enough researches to reveal the effects of surface texturing on the tribological properties under grease lubrication which is used in lubricating many mechanical elements. In the present study, therefore, the effects of surface texturing on the tribological properties are investigated under grease lubrication based on an experimental approach. The results show that surface texturing decreases friction coefficient. It is found that the friction coefficient can be decreased by controlling the diameter and density of micro-dimple. The diameter of dimple is more effective under high load and low speed than otherwise. And, the density of dimple is effective under low load and high speed.

  • Atomic layer deposition (ALD) and molecular layer deposition (MLD) are based on sequential, self-limiting surface reactions that produce atomic layer controlled and conformal thin film growth. ALD can deposit inorganic films and MLD can deposit films containing organics. ALD and MLD can be used together to fabricate a wide range of hybrid organic-inorganic alloy films. The relative fraction of inorganic and organic constituents can be defined by controlling the ratio of the ALD and MLD reaction cycles used to grow the film. These hybrid films can be tuned to obtain desirable mechanical, electrical and optical properties. This talk will focus on the growth and properties of metal alkoxide films grown using metal precursors and various organic alcohols that are known as "metalcones". The talk will highlight the tunable mechanical properties of alucone alloys grown using Al2O3 ALD and alucone MLD and the tunable electrical conductivity of zincone alloys grown using ZnO ALD and zincone MLD with DEZ and hydroquinone as the reactants.

  • The effect of processing parameters such as milling, additives and sintering atmoshpere on the magnetic properties of Mn-Zn ferrite was investigated. The experiment was followed by general ceramic fabrication process and added additives were $CaCO_{3}$, $SiO_{2}$, $V_{2}O_{5}$, $ZrO_{2}$, and $Nb_{2}O_{5}$. The effects of additives could be divided into three categories which were formation ofliquid phase, substitution in lattice and inducing stress. Core loss smong the magnetic properties was dependent mainly on the additives and also correlated with processing parameters. As a result, an optimum condition of preparing process for a high quality Mn-Zn ferrite was suggested by controlling the correlation of each processing parameters.

  • In the hot press forming process (HPF), a martensitic structure is obtained by controlling the cooling rate when cooling a boron sheet that is heated up to over $900^{\circ}C$. The HPF process has various advantages such as the improvement in formability and material properties and minimal spring back of the deformed materials. The factors related to the cooling rate depend on the heat transfer characteristics between heated materials and dies. Therefore, in this study, the cooling rate is controlled by adjusting the heat transfer coefficient of the material at the pressing process. And, the mechanical properties and microstructure of the deformed material is demonstrated during the HPF process where cold dies are used to form the heated steel plate. This is achieved by varying the major forming conditions that control the cooling rate regarded as the most important process parameter.

  • Ti-6Al-4V has low specific gravity, high corrosion resistance and superior mechanical properties but it is very difficult to control oxygen content in MIM process. It is necessary to use powders with coarse particle size to decrease oxygen content of powders, so feedstocks with poor fluidity and sintered bodies with lower density are obtained in such cases. Fine titanium hydride-dehydride powders were blended with atomized powders to accomplish higher fluidity and sintered density. Sintered bodies had higher sintered density and mechanical properties equivalent to those of wrought materials by controlling oxygen content less than 0.35mass%.

  • In this paper, $TiO_2$ thin films were fabricated by Sol-Gel method and their electrical conductivity and humidity sensing properties have been investigated. The structure of Sol can be changed by controlling for hydrolysis condition. The uniform surface of thin films was confirmed by SEM. The electrical conductivity of thin films decreased with increasing heat treatment temperature. The humidity sensing properties of thin films were good in high humidity and low frequency regions.

  • The luminescence of bismuth and cerium doped yttrium aluminum based Phosphors $Y_{3}$/Al$_{5}$/O$_{12}$ and (Y$_{0.8}$/Gd$_{0.2}$)$_3$Al$_{5}$/O$_{12}$ prepared by a solid-state reaction method were studied. These samples which were fired at 1, 20$0^{\circ}C$ show the characteristic X-ray diffraction patters for the main phase(420) of YAG. This study indicates that the both flux and remained bismuth after the firing phosphor materials give rise to affect the photoluminescence properties. Therefore, it was investigated that both the XRD patterns arid the PL properties were affected by the controlling experimental process variables.riables.les.

  • Objectives : The aim of this study is to investigate the properties of Meridian Gi in $\ulcorner$Huangdineijing(黃帝內經)$\lrcorner$, specially one of the movement properties like that comings and goings of Gi. Methods : Through searching concepts and properties of Meridian Gi in several chapters of $\ulcorner$Huangdineijing(黃帝內經)$\lrcorner$, many phrases concerned with that properties could be explained and reconstructed into new motional shape of Meridian Gi. Results : The basic characters of comings and goings of Meridian Gi or genuine Gi originate from food essence, and that are like a kind of waves. The most important moments of acupuncture treatment is such time of it's short passing the acupoints, carrying out tonifying and purging methods by controlling the spirit. Conclusions : The Meridian Gi consists of anti-pathogenic Gi so called genuine Gi and pathogenic Gi. Medical doctor must correctly knows the flow of Meridian Gi to operate tonifying and purging method of acupuncture treatments in order to get the desired results. Also maintaining very sensitive state in diagnostic process, the most important key points is to control the spirit and adjust mental activities of both doctors and patients. The motional properties of Meridian Gi are actually concerned with the arrival of Gi and reinforcement-reduction along and against Meridian Gi.
