We developed a SIFG (Slice-based Information Graph), which modelled the information flow on program on the basis of the information flow of data tokens on data slices. Then we defied a SCM (Slice-based complexity measure), which measured the program complexity by measuring the complexity of information flow on SIFG. SCM satisfied the necessary properties for complexity measure proposed by Briand et al. SCM could measure not only the control and data flow on program but also the physical size of program unlike the existing measures.

This paper analytically derives the variance of service time of a station in the symmetric IEEE 802.4 token bus network with single access class and finite buffer capacity. This performance measure is represented in terms of the total number of stations, the token hold time, the arrival rate of frames, the service rate, and other parameters. Using computer simulations, presented performance measure is validated.

In this article we have applied Schweizer & Sklars t-norm based similarity measures to classification task. We will compare results to fuzzy similarity measure based classification and show that sometimes better results can be found by using these measures than fuzzy similarity measure. We will also show that classification results are not so sensitive to p values with Schweizer & Sklars measures than when fuzzy similarity is used. This is quite important when one does not have luxury of tuning these kind of parameters but needs good classification results fast.

In this paper, a new approach for finding the approximate solution of the Stokes problem is introduced. In this method the problem is transformed to an equivalent optimization problem. Then, by considering it as a distributed parameter control system, the theory of measure is used to approximate values of pressure are obtained by a finite difference scheme.

In parameter design introduced by Taguchi, we analyze a performance measure, so called SN ratio. The SN ratio is a function of the expected loss due to the variation of quality characteristic. In this paper, an easy way for developing performance measures is presented, which can be used to control several quality characteristics simultaneously in parameter design. To develop such multivariate performance measures, the transformation method of the expected loss and combining techniques are employed. And the analysis of real empirical data for an application of the proposed method is also presented.

This article describes the useful way to measure the torque and RPM of the geared motor. For this, we have made the planetary geared reduction motor including the torque sensor unit which consists of hall effects sensor and permanent magnet. Our monitoring system displays the sensing values (torque, rpm) and the calculated value (power) and it also has the network capability using the Bluetooth protocol. We will show that our solution is much more inexpensive and simple method to measure torque and rpm than before.

A sensor system was developed to measure displacement of civil structure at a long distance. A He-Ne Laser tube and photodiodes ware used for non-contact measurement. This system allows real time vibration displacement measurement of bridges. The measured displacement data is displayed on computer monitor graphically and also in digit. The accuracy of the displacement measurement shows 2mm in vertical vibration. It shows remote inspection of the vibration of long bridges and buildings.

A lot of localization algorithms have been developed in order to achieve autonomous navigation. However, most of localization algorithms are restricted to certain conditions. In this paper, Monte Carlo localization scheme with a map-matching algorithm is suggested as a robust localization method for the Public Service Robot to accomplish its tasks autonomously. Monte Carlo localization can be applied to local, global and kidnapping localization problems. A range image based measure function and a geometric pattern matching measure function are applied for map matching algorithm. Association rule mining searches for interesting relationships among items in a given database. Association rules are frequently used by retail stores to assist in marketing, advertising, floor placement, and inventory control. There are three primary quality measures for association rule, support and confidence and lift. In this paper we present the relation between the measure of association based on chi square statistic and the criteria of association rule for nominal database and propose the objective criteria for association.
