Concurrency and synchronization problems are often caused by database applications concurrently accessing databases managed by DBMS. Most commercial DBMSs support isolation levels to resolve these problems. Verification of isolation levels are most important because consistency and integrity constraints of the database can be violated according to isolation levels of transactions that consists of database applications. We propose a test tool set to verify and reveal faulty settings of isolation levels and implement a prototype of the test tool set. The proposed tool set analyzes the SQL statements of ESQL/C programs, attaches the test codes to verify isolation levels, runs the test transactions and detects errors.

In the previous work, we presented HDTS for locating logical errors in Java programs. The HDTS locates an erroneous method at an execution tree using an algorithmic program debugging technique and locates a statement with errors in the erroneous method using a step-wise program debugging. The technique can remove the unnecessary statements and nodes in debugging using a program slicing technique at the execution tree. So HDTS reduces the number of program debugging. In this paper, we design HDTS system for debugging java programs. We define small subset of Java language and design the translator that translates java source codes and the virtual machine that runs java programs. We design GUI(Graphical User Interface) for debugging.

In the previous work, we presented HDT for locating logical errors in Java programs. The HDT locates an erroneous method at an execution tree using an algorithmic program debugging technique and locates a statement with errors in the erroneous method using a step-wise program debugging. It reduced the number of programmer debugging in Java programs. But the HDT still increases the number of debugging because the size of the recent programs increases than the past programs and the number of methods is increasing. This paper proposes HDTS using a program slicing technique (PST) at the MDT. HDTS can reduce the number of programmer debugging. Specially, the more the number of methods and statements increases, the more HDTS has effects.

With the advance of the Internet and computing technologies, e-learning is now a hot issue worldwide for providing the effective learning on the cyber-space. However, most of existing e-learning contents have been developed mainly based on text, including simple multimedia elements such as images, animations, and voices. This paper suggests a method effective for the computer programming e-learning. The method is based on program visualization using flowcharts. It features the stepwise hierarchical program visualization on the level of statements, the flowchart based visualization for control constructs of languages, visualization over whole programs, visualization compared with source codes, and interaction with users. Finally, we implement a system to realize the suggested method, and execute it for an example program.

Traditionally, there are many inherent restrictions in highschool mathematics textbooks. They are restricted in its contents and inevitably resorted to reader's ability of intuition. So they are usually lacked logical precisions and have various differences in expressions. We are mainly concerned with the definite integral and its applications in current highschool mathematics II textbooks according to 6th curriculum. We choose 6 of them arbitrarily and survey by comparison to deduce some controversial topics among them as follows. 1) absurd metaphors in formula process 2) confusions in important notations and too much choices in terms and statements. 3) lack of precisions in - teaching hierarchy (between some contents of Physics and the applications of definite integral) - introducing a proof of theorem (fundamental theorem of Calculus I) - introducing the methods (integral substitutions 1, ll) 4) adopting small topics such as - mean value theorem of integral - integrals with variable limits. In coming 7th curriculum, highschool students in Korea are supposed to choose calculus as a whole, independent course. So we hope that the suggested controversial topics are to be referred by authors to improve the preceding Mathematics ll textbooks and for teachers to use them for better mathematics education.

Due to the rapid proliferation of the web in recent years, many educators seek to improve the effectiveness of their instruction by providing innovative web-based course material to their students. Lots of web-based education contents are developed especially. They help to teach and train students. They expand widely due to repetition learning any time, any where. In this paper we implemented usage of C functions, quizes for checking comprehension of statements in C programming lecture and developed scenario helping concepts, algorithm comprehension. We made them web-based visual representation. They were implemented as FLASH animations or Java applets. They were well received by students.

The purpose of this study is to deeply understand the college life experiences of older nursing students. We interviewed 7 older nursing students, and analyzed the data through Colaizzi's method which is one of the phenomenological research methods. There were 108 meaningful statements derived from the original data. It was composed of 20 themes, confirming the relationship with the original data. The 8 theme clusters and the five categories were organized. The five categories are: 'hardship of study', 'a solitary drifting ship', 'confront prejudice', 'weapons for only me', and 'a flower of hope'. As results of this study, it can be suggested that the development of an adaptive program for older nursing students.

This study aimed at examining the characteristics of the Korean home economics achievement standards at secondary education level, and comparing with those of U.S. home economics national standards. The specific research questions were as follows. First, the characteristics of Korean and U.S. achievement standards were examined respectively. Second, the standards of the two countries were examined in terms of the grades involved, development areas, specification level, sequence of courses, and format of statements, adopting the analysis framework of Lee, Jang, and Park(2012). Third, the achievement standards of the two countries for specific content areas, i.e. 'understanding adolescents' and 'understanding family' were compared in terms of the styles and format of statements. The findings suggest that in developing the Korean achievement standards, integration with the curriculum and detailed and specific statements are important to facilitate adoption at schools. The results of the comparison with the U.S. national standards indicates that it is important to emphasize academic rationale to home economics as a subject by clearly presenting the concepts, contents, and categories. Also, the standards will need to be stated in specific terms to allow practices and evaluations, rather than in terms that reflect value judgments.

We have implemented an interactive multimedia education system for C programming. The system consists of two pars. One is multimedia contents to help students better understand C language syntax, programming style, and program logic and the other is a web-based compilation support system that compiles C programs at the server side which are submitted trough Web by students and returns their execution results to the students' PC. Although there are currently some restrictions that students should replace the inputs functions such as scanf(), getc() and getch() with assignment statements or fscanf(fp, , ), since the system has been implemented using general web technologies and shareware C compiler, the education system could be one solution that education institutions seek to reduce annual immense expenditure of money on C complier.

Purpose: Internet addiction is a newly recognized problem in the adolescents. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the educational needs for Internet addiction in middle school students of Korea. Method: The subjects of this study were 450 middle school students. The data were collected from open and structured questionnaire about the educational needs for Internet addiction. Result: As a result of content analysis of educational needs for Internet addiction, 9 domains and 19 themes were categorized from 542 statements. 9 Domains are : Definition, Etiology, Status, Process, Diagnosis, Influence, Coping and Prevention of Internet Addiction and General Information of Internet Use. These results were revealed that middle school students had comprehensive education needs for Internet Addiction. Also, there were the difference of need contents and frequency between school boy and girl students. Most of students had high educational needs for Internet addiction based on school health care program. Conclusion: It would be necessary to develop on Internet addiction prevention program for adolescents concerning these findings. In the future, there should be study to identify the psychological characteristics of adolescent associated with Internet addiction.
