The Effect of Brand Reputation on Stock Price: Focused on Game Firms (브랜드 평판이 주가에 미치는 영향: 게임 기업을 중심으로)

  • Recently, the importance of not only financial factors from financial statements but also non-financial factors such as consumers' evaluation and loyalty to game content is more emphasized when assessing the value of game companies. In this study, we suggest the brand reputation index as an appropriate measure of a game company's valuation and examine the effect of the brand reputation on game companies' stock price using the observations of Korean major 30 game companies. From the empirical results, we find that there is a significantly positive association between the brand reputation index and the game companies' stock price. This explains that the brand reputation of game companies can directly affect their firm value. The findings are expected to contribute to capital markets and academia as they have presented empirical evidence of the importance of brand reputation as a non-financial measure for the valuation of game companies.

  • The characters' voices in the movie, Rashomon mean the absence of memories created by self-consciousness in order to avoid the crisis. The varying statements of the characters and the three spaces: the space of Nakanimon (th e ruins), the representation space as polyphony (the forest), the egoistic space of truth (the guardian), show the social ills of doubtfulness and mistrust among the Japanese at that time due to the defeat from the war. This matches with the polyphony theory of Mr. Bakhtin, a Russian cultural critic. The key concept of polyphony theory is that the voices that do not accord each other are not harmonized but each voice builds their own world and participates in the novel without being influenced by the creator. This study's aim is to discuss two aspects; Bakhtin's polypony theory allows polyphony film s to function as cinematic composition and spatial characteristics of polyphony films in the movie, Rashomon.

Newly graduated Nurse's Resilience Experience (신규간호사의 극복력 경험)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the resilience experience and to identify in-depth the meaning of the resilience of newly graduated nurses. Methods: This study was a qualitative study using phenomenological research method and used data obtained from semi-structured in-depth interviews with 9 newly graduated nurses under 12 months of employment in tertiary general hospitals. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi's method. Results: As a result of analyzing the experiences of newly graduated nurses' resilience, there were totally 86 meaningful statements, 13 themes were derived from them, and they were integrated into 4 theme clusters. The four theme clusters were 'Acknowledging shortcomings and developing oneself', 'Enduring and tolerating', 'Support from people around oneself', and 'Freshening and sublimating oneself'. Conclusion: Understanding and enhancing the resilience of new nurses will help them improve nursing professionalism and reduce turnover due to reduced work stress.

Exploring Subjectivity Concerning Occupational Achievements of KBS Journalists (KBS 기자의 직업적 성취에 관한 주관성 탐색)

  • It is common to say that Korean journalists' professionalism including the public broadcaster KBS is immature. This study used the Q methodology to explore the subjectivity that KBS reporters and citizens have formed about reporters' occupational achievements. we tried to find out the background and reasons of the subjective dimensions of journalists regarding the immature state of Korean journalists' professionalism. Under a condition for sorting of 'a reporter most likely to be promoted', using 95 statements related to the reporter's occupational achievements, 30 KBS reporters, 10 university students who were eager to be a journalist, and 40 ordinary people of various ages, a total of 80 participants took part in the Q sorting. A total of 3 Q factors were extracted, then analyzed in detail into a total of 6 reporter types divided into (+) and (-) sub types for each factor. As a result, six types of perceptions and attitudes were named as 'a professional reporter','a schemer reporter','an organizational loyalty reporter', 'a passionate reporter','a careerist reporter', and 'a reliable worker'. This study can be meaningful in that it further deepened and expanded the existing researches concerning Korean journalist's professional identity.

Evaluating and Categorizing Brand Assets of Full-Service Carriers and Low-Cost Carriers (대형항공사와 저비용항공사의 브랜드 자산 평가와 유형화)

  • Many domestic and international airlines that experienced dramatic recession due to COVID-19 pandemic are carefully being ready to normalise operations as a number of governments has begun to vaccinate for COVID-19. So with the same market share from domestic to short distant international services, the competition between Full Service Carriers (FSC) and low cost carriers (LCC) is anticipated to be more intensive. To explore the concepts such as the perception, value, attitude and faith of the object, this study implements Q methodology proposed to complement the limitations of quantitative and qualitative research methodology. As a result, the consumers of airlines' brand are divided into three types - the type of utility seeking, value-oriented and task-related. Using Q samples which consist of 25 statements, this study specifically approached the traits of each type by observing the subjectivity with the comparative P sample group that is made up for 20 participants. By discovering the type of FSC and LCC's brand asset and comparing the recognition of consumers, not only does this study evoke the need for a strategic direction of the effective management of Airlines' Brand asset but also have a signification in the way that especially provide hypotheses for follow up studies.

Mixed Methods Research on the Characteristics and Factors of Faith in Early Childhood (유아기 신앙 특성 및 요인에 관한 혼합연구)

  • In this study, a mixed research method that collects and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data together was used to broaden the understanding of young children's faith. First of all, the contents of interviews with 18 research participants were divided into categories, and the frequency of each category was calculated. From 75 statements made in the interview, the importance of each was evaluated with a 5-point Likert scale. The means and standard deviations of the evaluation score were calculated, and sub-factors were identified through exploratory factor analysis. The frequency of categories mentioned in the qualitative interview was in the following order: faith manifested in difficulties, religious activities, Christian education at home, Christian education in the church, love and faith in God, and the formation of a Christian worldview (identity). The statement on the perception of God, theological concepts, religious activities, and Christian education at home and in the church received high scores. On the other hand, statements on developmentally difficult or abstract content, value judgment or conflict resolution based on the Word, and evangelism showed low scores. The sub-factors extracted through factor analysis were faith education through home and church, awareness of God and religious activities, identity based on the gospel, character based on the gospel, and overcoming a crisis through faith. In conclusion, the results of each of the mixed methods of looking at young children's faith were very similar-relationships with God, religious activities, Christian worldview (identity), Christian education at home and church were highlighted, even though various methods were used. This study is meaningful in that it suggests what and how to teach in early childhood Christian education.

Effect-Evaluation on Nutrition Education in Related Curriculums for Elementary School Children -Focused on Change of Dietary Habits- (초등학생의 올바른 식습관 형성을 위한 연관교과 내 식생활교육의 효과판정 -식습관 변화를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop of nutritional education activities and effect evaluation in related curriculums for all Dongbu Elementary School children in Jinhae by the teacher in charge. This educational purpose was to build a desirable dietary behavior for optimal growth and health in elementary school children. The educational program contents were developed according to 1) selection of content related curriculums 2) analysis of contents related on dietary habits by grade 3) preparation teaching plans to build desirable dietary habits 4) development of teaching manual by turns. Twelve hours of nutrition education at all school classes were done from March 2 to December 10 2004 in Dongbu Elementary School in Jinhae, Gyeongnam. The education effects were evaluated through the questionnaire surveys before and after the education and their comparative analysis. The results of this study were summarized as follows : Forty percent of the underweight group, $22.8\%$ of the normal group, $42.2\%$ of the obese group had the wrong perceptions on their body figures, but after nutrition education $80.5\%$ of the underweight group, $94.3\%$ of the normal group, $97.9\%$ of the obese group gleaned the correct perceptions on their body figures (p < 0.001). As the effects of the education, the subjects who exercise more than 3 times in a week increased in all groups (p < 0.01-0.001), notably in the obese group. Meal regularity (p < 0.001) , skipping meals (p < 0.001), eating rate and snack selection patterns (p < 0.01-p < 0.001) also improved by nutrition education. We could also observe the effects of the nutrition education through the affirmative statements which appeared in their dietary records. These results showed a possibility of nutrition education activities in related curriculums to improve in dietary habits of school children. Next year, we will start with the system of nutrition teachers in elementary school, but nutrition teacher cannot undertake the task of teaching and food service management alone. The Comparison of the 7th Science Curriculum of Korea and the New Science Curriculum of Japan in Elementary School Levels (한국의 제7차 과학과 교육과정과 일본의 이과 신교육과정 비교 - 초등학교 교육과정을 중심으로 -)

  • The 7th Science Curriculum of Korea is applied in elementary schools from 2000, and the New Science Curriculum of Japan is applied in schools from 2002. In this study, we made a comparison between the 7th Science Curriculum of Korea and the New Science Curriculum of Japan in relation to Elementary school in aspects of construction, aim, and contents. The major findings of this study are as follows. 1. The New Science Curriculum of Japan presents a specific aim, treatment of content, and process skills according to grade, but the 7th Science Curriculum of Korea does not classify them according to grade. Hence the 7th Science Curriculum of Korea emphasize on the sequence between grades. 2. In aim of Science Curriculum, the 7th Science Curriculum of Korea show more emphasis on the practical application than the New Science Curriculum of Japan. 3. In construction of content, a area of science content is handled with gradual advance in several grades and several areas of content are treated in a grade in the 7th Science Curriculum of Korea. On the contrary, a area of content is treated intensively in a grade in the New Science Curriculum of Japan. Therefore, the 7th Science Curriculum of Korea shows more reflection of connection and hierarchy between grades. 4. The statements of the 7th Science Curriculum of Korea are centering around specific matters and include specific activities, but the New Science Curriculum of Japan focuses on concepts to team and does not state specific activities.

The Development and Implementation of PBL(Problem-Based Learning) Module in Maternity Nursing Based on Clinical Cases (임상사례중심 모성간호학 PBL (Problem Based Learning)-모듈개발 및 시범적용)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a PBL module in maternity nursing based on the clinical cases. A PBL module applied to maternity nursing class to test the effects on improving the learning ability of students. And it would be used for developing further PBL module even more perfectly. Method: We selected the concept of the PBL module which is based on the purpose of the contents of maternity nursing class and national test held by Korean Nursing Association. The module scenario was composed up of the cases of clinical practices and was also checked by clinical practice professionals as well as the nursing professionals in other colleges. We used this PBL module for the 20 second grade student nurses in K college for 6 weeks. Besides, we checked self-analyses on the PBL class, assessments done by students on the PBL class itself and on the academic adviser and analyzed the students' subjective statements on the PBL class . Results: The achievements of the experimental students given a PBL class, are better than those of the control group statistically. And the experimental group do their almost all learning planned actively for themselves and show their positive responses on the PBL class being helpful in practicing clinical cases. Conclusion: PBL class could be considered the method to fortify student nurses' abilities on adjusting themselves to clinical real situations through the learning planned by themselves. Afterwards it is necessary to activate PBL class in nurse education. Most of all, it is more important that nurse educators should recognize the values of this PBL class and try to apply it in reality.

A Study on the Environmental Assessment Criteria for Designation of Conservation Zones in Urban Area (환경성 평가시 도시보전용도지역 확보기준에 관한 연구)

  • The environmental conservation-targeted zoning in urban planning process has been functioned as securing a ecological core in urban green spaces management. Hence, the designation of conservation zones in land use planning is considered as a key task to achieve the sustainability of urban planning. The recently introduced pre-environmental review system for the proposed urban plan, by which the conservative measures for urban ecosystem and landscape are suggested in aspect of environmental impact mitigation, has played an active role in enhancing the environmental performance degraded by wide range of development pressure. This study is aimed at drawing out of objective criteria for designation of environmental conservation zones, which can be applied to urban planning establishment and also to environmental assessment process. To achieve this goal, the study adopted the following methods; pre-study review, analysis of existing official opinion statements released by the Ministry of Environment, contents analysis of related laws, and experts' panel discussions on the finally arranged criteria. The results of this research can be summarized as follows: First, the total criteria of 48 are drown out with categorizing into environment-ecological and socio-cultural sectosr. Second, the environment-ecological part is composed of 33 criteria such as vegetation, animal, geomorphology, watershed, environmental land suitability, and etc. Here, the Degree of Ecological Function, Degree of Environmental Land Suitability, and Vegetation Map are mainly utilized. Third, the 15 socio-cultural criteria relating to the history, social ecology and landscape have such components as forest around relics, Seo-won(school), castle, tomb, landmark, skyline, natural landscape, and etc. Forth, these individual criteria can be applied to designation of each conservation zones among total of 11 conservation areas(or districts).
