  • Recently, various monitoring systems are implemented actively by using wireless sensor networks(WSN). When implementing WSN-based monitoring system, there are three important issues to consider. At First, we need to consider a sensor node failure detection method to support the ongoing monitoring. Secondly, because sensor nodes use limited battery power, we need an efficient data filtering method to reduce energy consumption. At Last, a reducing processing overhead method is necessary. The existing Kalman filtering scheme has good performance on data filtering, but it causes too much processing overhead to estimate sensed data. To solve these problems, we, in this paper, propose a new data filtering scheme based on data statical analysis. First, the proposed scheme periodically aggregates node survival massages to support a node failure detection. Secondly, to reduce energy consumption, it sends the sample data with a node survival massage and do data filtering based on those messages. Finally, it analyzes the sample data to estimate filtering range in a server. As a result, each sensor node can use only simple compare operation for filtering data. In addition, we show from our performance analysis that the proposed scheme outperforms the Kalman filtering scheme in terms of the number of sending messages.

  • Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) technology is set to play an essential role in object tracking or supply chain management systems. New challenges for RFID data management are needed in the RFID applications. RFID data are generated quickly and automatically, and can be used for object tracking, or for real-time monitoring. These applications are mostly associated with the timestamps when the events happen. In this paper, we propose a temporal RFID data model to maintain the history of events and state changes and to monitor the states of RFID objects. Also we propose data filtering method of non active data based on temporal RFID data model. This data model involves essential basic operations for RFID data. We show increased query performance through the data filtering method of non active data.

  • In this paper, we propose a method of generating theme, background amd signal music usage monitoring information based on a blockchain, in which the music usage informations are recorded by the monitoring tool using feature-based filtering of monitoring organizations. Theme, background and signal music are music inserted into the broadcasting contents of broadcaster. Since they are recognized as created contents just like normal music, there are lyricists and composers who have the right for those music and all copyright holders of them have to receive the corresponding copyright fees, once the music was used in the broadcast. However, there are problems with inaccurate monitoring results for music usage, due to the omission of usage details and non-transparent settlement method. In order to solve these problems, If the information generation method proposed in this paper, accurate music usage history can be created, the details are stored in the blockchain without changes or omissions, and transparent settlement and distribution are possible by smart contract, avoiding the current non-transparent settlement method.

  • An auto sampling and filtering unit was developed for monitoring automation of a fermentation process and its performance was evaluated. The automatic sampling and filtering unit was constructed with a glass filter, a diaphragm suction pump, and a flow direction change valve. To evaluate operating stability, delivery volumes of the suction pump were measured according to the experimental conditions of cellulose powder, pore size of the glass filter and suction head of the pump. The developed unit could deliver the sample solution under any experimental conditions except the filter pore size of $16{\mu}m$ and the suction head of 20cm. In case of the suction head of 30cm, the pump could not deliver the sample solution at all. Concentrations of the sample solutions were converged on those of the standard glucose solution after 8 minutes from the initial sampling time. The relative error of concentration between the sample and the standard solution showed 3.8, 4.8, 7.0% for the 1, 3, 5% contents of cellulose powder, respectively.

  • In this paper, an adaptive MEMD based modal identification technique for linear time-invariant systems is proposed employing multiple vibration measurements. Traditional empirical mode decomposition (EMD) suffers from mode-mixing during sifting operations to identify intrinsic mode functions (IMF). MEMD performs better in this context as it considers multi-channel data and projects them into a n-dimensional hypercube to evaluate the IMFs. Using this technique, modal parameters of the structural system are identified. It is observed that MEMD has superior performance compared to its traditional counterpart. However, it still suffers from mild mode-mixing in higher modes where the energy contents are low. To avoid this problem, an adaptive filtering scheme is proposed to decompose the interfering modes. The Proposed modified scheme is then applied to vibrations of a reinforced concrete road bridge. Results presented in this study show that the proposed MEMD based approach coupled with the filtering technique can effectively identify the parameters of the dominant modes present in the structural response with a significant level of accuracy.

  • In this paper, we propose a new skyline query processing scheme to enhance accuracy of query processing and communication cost in mobile P2P environments. The proposed scheme consists of three stages such as the pre-skyline processing, the query transmission range extension policy, and the continuous skyline query processing. In the pre-skyline processing, a peer selects the candidate filtering objects who have the potential to be selected. By doing so, the proposed scheme reduces the filtering cost when processing the query. In the query transmission range extension policy, we have improved the accuracy by extending the query transmission range. In addition, it can handle continuous skyline query by performing the monitoring after the first skyline query processing. In order to show the superiority of the proposed method, we compare it with the existing schemes through performance evaluation. As a result, it was shown that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing schemes.

  • This study was performed to analyze the content of 6 different fusel oils in 9 types of liquor distributed in domestic market. GC-FID method was employed for quantifying fusel oil (1-propanol, iso-butanol, 1-butanol, 2-butanol, iso-amyl alcohol, active amyl alcohol) levels in 260 liquor samples of liquor. Relative standard deviations (%) of intra-and interday measurements were under 1.56 and 2.44%, respectively, while recovery rates (%) were 98.22-105.26% and 98.53-107.15%, respectively. Pretreatment method (filtering and centrifugation) of Takju did not affect analytic results. The average of total fusel oil contents in Yakju (39 types) and fruit wines (30 types) were 497.6 and 151.9 mg/L, showing Yakju contains more fusel oils than Takju or fruit wines. In fruit wines, iso-amyl alcohol was the major fusel oil component (at 6.8-249.0 mg/L). The highest content of fusel oil was found in foreign brandy, whereas the diluted Soju did not contain fusel oils. However, the average of total fusel oil contents was high at 764.5 mg/L in the three types of distilled Soju and iso-amyl alcohol content ranged from 114.2 to 421.0 mg/L. Domestic and foreign beers were similar in terms of their fusel oil compositions and contents. In conclusion, excluding the diluted Soju, the contents of total fusel oils ranged from 114.8 to 1447.3 mg/L in the monitored liquors.

  • Airlines can employ a variety of quality monitoring procedures. In this study, we employ a content analysis of 8 years of online reviews for Korean airlines in contrast to other international airlines. Online airline reviews are infrequent, relative to the total number of passengers - the number of reviews is multiple orders of magnitude lower than passenger volumes - and online airline reviews are, therefore, not representative of passenger attitudes overall. Nevertheless, online reviews may be indicative of specific service issues, and draw attention to aspects that require further study by airline operators. Furthermore, significant words and phrases used in these airline reviews may help airline operators to rapidly automate filtering, partitioning, and analysis of incoming passenger comments via other channels, including email, social media posts, and call center transcripts. The current study provides insights into the contents of online reviews of Korean vs Other-International airlines, and opportunities for service enhancement. Further, we provide a set of marker words and phrases that may be helpful for management dashboards that require automated partitioning of passenger comments.

  • As UCI (Universal Content Identifier) identification system becomes a national standard for content distribution, many digital contents are distributed through UCI identification system. However, problems associated with copyright infringement and copyright contracts occur due to lack of copyright information. ICN (Integrated Copyright Number), a code system developed for copyright management, includes copyright-related information for the purposes of usage settlement and accounting, illegal usage monitoring, and content filtering. ICN, however, has no information about distribution and content properties. Therefore, the linkage and integration between UCI and ICN can be a basis for the transparent and effective distribution of digital contents. In this paper, we propose a model for linking and integrating UCI and ICN, developing the efficiency in the value chain of each identified system by analyzing political factors and key technical elements between the two identification systems.
