  • The existing content-based spam mail filtering algorithms have difficulties in filtering spam mails when e-mails contain images but little text. In this thesis we propose an efficient spam mail classification algorithm that utilizes the link structure of e-mails. We compute the number of hyperlinks in an e-mail and the in-link frequencies of the web pages hyperlinked in the e-mail. Using these two features we classify spam mails and legitimate mails based on the decision tree trained for spam mail classification. We also suggest a hybrid system combining three different algorithms by majority voting: the link structure analysis algorithm, a modified link structure analysis algorithm, in which only the host part of the hyperlinked pages of an e-mail is used for link structure analysis, and the content-based method using SVM (support vector machines). The experimental results show that the link structure analysis algorithm slightly outperforms the existing content-based method with the accuracy of 94.8%. Moreover, the hybrid system achieves the accuracy of 97.0%, which is a significant performance improvement over the existing method.

  • The rapid development of the Internet has led to a significant increase in multimedia content in social networks. How to better analyze and improve video classification models has become an important task. Deep learning models have typical "black box" characteristics. The model requires explainable analysis. This article uses two classification models: ConvLSTM and VGG16+LSTM models. And combined with the explainable method of LRP, generate visualized explainable results. Finally, based on the experimental results, the accuracy of the classification model is: ConvLSTM: 75.94%, VGG16+LSTM: 92.50%. We conducted explainable analysis on the VGG16+LSTM model combined with the LRP method. We found VGG16+LSTM classification model tends to use the frames biased towards the latter half of the video and the last frame as the basis for classification.

  • P2P Systems have grown dramatically in recent years. Now many P2P systems have developed and been confronted by P2P technical challenges. We should consider how to efficiently locate desired resources. In this paper we integrated the existing pure P2P and hybrid P2P model. We try to keep roles of super peer in hybrid and concurrently use pure P2P model for searching resource. In order to improve the existing search mechanism, we present contents-based classification mechanism. Proposed system have the following features. This can forward only query to best peer using RI. Second, it is self-organization. A peer can reconfigure network that it can communicate directly with based on best peer. Third, peers can cluster each other through contents-based classification.

  • So far, many researches have been done to retrieve music information using static classification descriptors such as genre and mood. Since static classification descriptors are based on diverse content-based musical features, they are effective in retrieving similar music in terms of such features. However, human emotion or mood transition triggered by music enables more effective and sophisticated query in music retrieval. So far, few works have been done to evaluate the effect of human mood transition by music. Using formal representation of such mood transitions, we can provide personalized service more effectively in the new applications such as music recommendation. In this paper, we first propose our Emotion State Transition Model (ESTM) for describing human mood transition by music and then describe a music classification and recommendation scheme based on the ESTM. In the experiment, diverse content-based features were extracted from music clips, dimensionally reduced by NMF (Non-negative Matrix Factorization, and classified by SVM (Support Vector Machine). In the performance analysis, we achieved average accuracy 67.54% and maximum accuracy 87.78%.

  • A conventional environment adaptation for robust speech recognition is usually conducted using transform-based techniques. Here, we present a discriminative adaptation strategy based on a multi-condition-trained model, and propose a new method to provide universal application to a new environment using the environment's specific conditions. Experimental results show that a speech recognition system adapted using the proposed method works successfully for other conditions as well as for those of the new environment.

  • According to the recent advances in multimedia computing, storage and searching technology have made large volume of music contents become prevalent. Also there has been increasing needs for the study on efficient categorization and searching technique for music contents management. In this paper, a new classifying method using the local information of music content and music tone feature is proposed. While the conventional classifying algorithms are based on entire information of music content, the algorithm proposed in this paper focuses on only the specific local information, which can drastically reduce the computing time without losing classifying accuracy. In order to improve the classifying accuracy, it uses a new classification feature based on music tone. The proposed method has been implemented as a part of MuSE (Music Search/Classification Engine) which was installed on various systems including commercial PDAs and PCs.

  • In this paper, we research the content-based analysis and classification according to the composition of the feature parameters pool for the auditory signals to implement the auditory indexing and searching system. Auditory data is classified to the primitive various auditory types. we described the analysis and feature extraction method for the feature parameters available to the auditory data classification. And we compose the feature parameters pool in the indexing group unit, then compare and analysis the auditory data centering around the including level and indexing criterion into the audio categories. Based on this result, we composit feature vectors of audio data according to the classification categories, then experiment the classification using discrimination function.

  • We propose a new content-based image retrieval using a representative color histogram and directional pattern histogram that is adaptive to the classification characteristics of the image blocks. In the proposed method the color and pattern feature vectors are extracted according to the characteristics o: the block classification after dividing the image into blocks with a fixed size. First, the divided blocks are classified as either luminance or color blocks depending on the saturation of the block. Thereafter, the color feature vectors are extracted by calculating histograms of the block average luminance co-occurrence for the luminance block and the block average colors for the color blocks. In addition, block directional pattern feature vectors are extracted by calculating histograms after performing the directional gradient classification of the luminance. Experimental results show that the proposed method can outperform the conventional methods as regards the precision and the size of the feature vector dimension.

  • With the explosive growth n the numbers and sizes of imaging technologies, Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) has been attacked the interests of researchers in the fields of digital libraries, image processing, and database systems. In general, in the case of query-by-image, in user has to select an image from database to query, even though it is not his completely desired one. However, since query-by-sketch approach draws a query shape according to the user´s desire it can provide more high-level searching interface to the user compared to the query-b-image. As a result, query-by-sketch has been widely used. In this paper, we propose a Java-based image retrieval system that consists of sketch query and image classification. We use two features such as color histogram and Haar wavelets coefficients to search similar images. Then the Leave-One-Out method is used to classify database images. The categories of classification are photo & painting, city & nature, and sub-classification of nature image. By using the sketch query and image classification, w can offer convenient image retrieval interface to user and we can also reduce the searching time.
