  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that influence the pre-use expectation and the continuous usage intention of the OTT services. Methods: For empirical analysis, the survey for this study was administered with many anonymous people who had previously used any of the OTT services and valid 192 data were analyzed by SPSS and PLS-SEM. Results: The results of this study are as follows. Personalization and understandability in the information quality didn't significantly affect confirmation. Ease of use and search of the system quality significantly affected confirmation. Also, it was found that content diversity, content recency, and content playfulness as the characteristics of the content quality significantly affected the expectation confirmation. OTT service fees also significantly affected the expectation confirmation. It also significantly affected perceived usefulness and satisfaction. Finally, satisfaction positively influenced the continuouse intention to use. Conclusion: The findings of this empirical analysis shows that the specific characteristics related to the relationship of expectation confirmation, perceived usefulness, satisfaction, and continuous usage intention with respect to OTT services through the Post Acceptance Model (PAM). Because system quality, content quality, and service fees meeted users' expectations, OTT services need a strategy that can boost the users' positive perceptions or experiences by reinforcing these three factors.

  • This study investigated the feasibility and effectiveness of incorporating oral corrective feedback into the content-based business English writing class. Two types of oral corrective feedback, recasts and metalinguistic feedback, were integrated into business English writing classes to help low intermediate-proficiency Korean university students improve the ability to use the simple past, present progressive, and present perfect tenses correctly in their written production. Prior to the treatments, the subjects had basic grammatical knowledge of the target verb tenses, but they had only limited control over them in their written production. Three groups were formed: recast group that received corrective recasting, metalinguistic group that received metalinguistic clues, and control group that received no oral corrective feedback. The study demonstrated that it was feasible to incorporate recasts and metalinguistic feedback into content-based business English writing classes and that metalinguistic feedback had greater and more endurable effects than recasts on promoting the correct use of the target verb tenses in written production. It can be concluded that oral corrective feedback, metalinguistic feedback in particular, can be used in the business English writing classroom to help students gain greater control over already partially acquired forms and therefore improve their writing accuracy.

  • With the widespread use of social media, online social platforms like Twitter have become a place of rapid dissemination of information-both accurate and inaccurate. After the COVID-19 outbreak, the overabundance of fake information and rumours on online social platforms about the COVID-19 pandemic has spread over society as quickly as the virus itself. As a result, fake news poses a significant threat to effective virus response by negatively affecting people's willingness to follow the proper public health guidelines and protocols, which makes it important to identify fake information from online platforms for the public interest. In this research, we introduce an approach to detect fake news using deep learning techniques, which outperform traditional machine learning techniques with a 93.1% accuracy. We then investigate the content differences between real and fake news by applying topic modeling and linguistic analysis. Our results show that topics on Politics and Government services are most common in fake news. In addition, we found that fake news has lower analytic and authenticity scores than real news. With the findings, we discuss important academic and practical implications of the study.

  • This study presented a personalization system that adopted a methodology which is applicable for digital content recommendation and executed by the Internet service providers. The system made a recommendation to the users on the basis of their preferences, while most techniques for recommending digital content have focused on considering the similarity of content. In addition, it developed a method of evaluation to determine the priority of recommendations and adopted measures when selecting a set of recommendations. To experiment the feasibility and effectiveness of the presented methodology, a prototype system was developed and was applied to an English newspaper on the Internet.

  • This paper examines the features that make a YouTube channel attractive to users. Considering that drawing users' attention is challenging on this platform, where voluminous amounts of videos are available, it is crucial to identify the factors that make users intend to subscribe to a YouTube channel. In this study, we used an online survey to collect data from 1125 respondents and an SEM model using Smart PLS 3.2.8 to analyze it. The results show that integrity and familiarity with a YouTube channel are positively correlated with trust in its creator, which leads to subscribing to the YouTube channel; value and accuracy also positively affect intention to subscribe to a YouTube channel via trust in content. This study enriches the field of research about trust in the creator and trust in content.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of different types of simultaneous presentation (i.e., reviewer information, textual and visual content, and similarity between textual-visual contents) on review usefulness and review enjoyment in online restaurant reviews (ORRs), as they are interrelated yet have rarely been examined together in previous research. By using Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic modeling and state-of-the-art machine learning (ML) methodologies, we found that review readability in textual content and salient objects in images in visual content have a significant impact on both review usefulness and review enjoyment. Moreover, similarity between textual-visual contents was found to be a major factor in determining review usefulness but not review enjoyment. As for reviewer information, reputation, expertise, and location of residence, these were found to be significantly related to review enjoyment. This study contributes to the body of knowledge on ORRs and provides valuable implications for general users and managers in the hospitality and tourism industries.
