  • In smart grid, privacy implications to individuals and their families are an important issue because of the fine-grained usage data collection. Wireless communications are utilized by many utility companies to obtain information. Network coding is exploited in smart grids, to enhance network performance in terms of throughput, delay, robustness, and energy consumption. However, random linear network coding introduces a new challenge for privacy preserving due to the encoding of data and updating of coefficients in forwarder nodes. We propose a distributed privacy preserving scheme for random linear network coding in smart grid that considers the converged flows character of the smart grid and exploits a homomorphic encryption function to decrease the complexities in the forwarder node. It offers a data confidentiality privacy preserving feature, which can efficiently thwart traffic analysis. The data of the packet is encrypted and the tag of the packet is encrypted by a homomorphic encryption function. The forwarder node random linearly codes the encrypted data and directly processes the cryptotext tags based on the homomorphism feature. Extensive security analysis and performance evaluations demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the proposed scheme.

  • The purpose of the study is to microscopically re-clarify the reality of renovation and conflicts that females faced within their families since the modernization period. The research method is the literature review. Families have been considered based on the formation of individual spaces for housing by husband and wife. The study will analyze changes in daily lives and housing consciousness to understand how such housing areas are transforming. The results of the study are as follows. From the perspective of symbolic interaction, in a traditional society, Korean females have been experiencing alienation and isolation in private areas in their daily lives due to family centrism and male chauvinism. Since industrialization, the female's role as the major consumer has been emphasized. Also, in terms of housing space, the symbol of family interaction was influenced more by utility, rationality, and equality than spatial hierarchy. From the perspective of the dailiness of phenomenological traditions, the modern girl's housing consciousness, which appeared during modernization under colonial rule, is considered as revolutionary from traditional society. Soon after in industrialized society, females appeared as leaders of 'sweet home'. They also became the main body to create the space for living by giving meaning to the interior of housing. Considering dailiness from the Marxist perspective, under the colonial social system, females became the subject of colonization through education, socialization, and the labor market. The modern public system presents the female as 'a wise mom and good wife' or laborer causing the colonization of her life. After industrialization, the socialization of housing and prioritization of spending caused the daily lives of females to become colonized by the consumption market.

  • In third world countries like Pakistan, the production of electricity has been quickly reduced in past years due to rely on the fossil fuel. According to a survey conducted in 2017, the overall electrical energy capacity was 22,797MW, since the electrical grids have gone too old, therefore the efficiency of grids, goes down to nearly 17000MW. Significant addition of fossil fuel, hydro and nuclear is 64.2%, 29% and 5.8% respectively in the total electricity production in Pakistan. In 2018, the demand crossed 20,223MW, compared to peak generation of 15,400 to 15,700MW as by the Ministry of Water and Power. Country faces a deficit of almost 4000MW to 5000MW for the duration of 2019 hot summer term. Focus on one aspect considering Demand Side Management (DSM) cannot oversea the reduction of gap between power demand and customer supply, which eventually leads to the issue of load shedding. Hence, a scheduling scheme is proposed in this paper called RPSMDSM that is based on selection of those appliances that need to be only Turned-On, on priority during peak hours consuming minimum energy. The Home Energy Management (HEM) system is integrated between consumer and utility and bidirectional flow is presented in the scheme. During peak hours of electricity, the RPSMDSM is capable to persuade less power consumption and accomplish productivity in load management. Simulations show that RPSMDSM scheme helps in scheduling the electricity loads from peak price to off-peak price hours. As a result, minimization in electricity cost as well as (Peak-to-Average Ratio) PAR are accomplished with sensible waiting time.

  • In this experimental research, it was studied to compare with pure gasoline and the fuels of RM50 (reformulated methanol fuel) for performance and exhaust emissions without reconstruction of engine systems. RM50 has a wider range of combustion limitation, which is one of the methanol's characteristics. This causes a stable driving state of RM50 in the experimental condition of unstable state and a low cycle by cycle variation which is used to determine the driving state. It is determined that fuel stability is better because cycle by cycle variation varies within 10%, therefore, driving characteristics is relatively good. In all conditions, RM50 has lower exhaust emissions of CO, HC, NOx than gasoline fuel, however, RM50's noise characteristics are 0.5~2dB higher at all condition, and in the result of the experiments of rubber fusion, it increases the utility possibility of RM50.

  • The objective of this paper is to compare the applicability of assimilable organic carbon (AOC) or biodegradable dissolved organic carbon (BDOC) for quantifying biodegradable organic material (BOM) and bio-stability in distribution systems for a variety of finished waters. The study the data is derived from was part of an AWWARF and Tampa Bay Water tailored collaboration project to determine the effect of blending different waters on distribution system water quality. Seven different finished waters were produced from surface, ground, or brackish water on site and fed 18 independent pilot distribution systems (PDSs), either as single finished water or as a blend of several finished waters. AOC and BDOC have often been used as indicators of bacterial regrowth potential in distribution systems. In this study, AOC was the more useful assay of the two for the BOM concentrations observed in the PDSs. BDOC did not distinguish BOM while AOC did at the low BOM levels from many of the advanced treatments (e.g. RO, $O^3/BAC$). AOC in contrast allowed much more meaningful calculations of the consumption or production of AOC as the blends passed through the PDSs even for very low BOM blends. In addition, meaningful trends corresponding to changes in heterophic plate count (HPC) were observed for AOC but not for BDOC. Moreover, AOC stability was associated with waters produced from advanced membrane treatment.

  • The purposes of this study were to determine what factors influence risk perceptions of females and males for milk produced using food-related biotechnology, to test whether risk perceptions or other factors influence self-protection actions and to estimate milk demand response in light of self-protection actions and other economic and demographic factors. The expected utility model was applied to explain the way consumers would take self-protection actions regarding risk perceptions and to drive milk demand. Telephone interviews were conducted and the data were collected from households(females=1,029, males=437) nationwide in the U.S. And the data were analyzed by Heckman two-step method using the software package LIMDEP. Risk perceptions were found to be influenced not by demographic factors but by outrage factors as well as attitudinal factors in both females and males, although some factors were different. In addition, risk perceptions and labeling availability were found to significantly influence self-protection actions in both groups. Furthermore, as an important concern in this study, self-protection action was found to significantly influence milk demand in only male group, implying a consistent behavior of males. Also milk price and household size were found to significantly influence milk demand in both groups. In fact, the results did demonstrate that labeling availability significantly influenced self-protection actions. That is, in markets where labeled laternatives were present, concerned consumers were more likely to self protect by substituting to these products. A policy implication of this result is that labeling food products produced using biotechnology enhances consumer choice. Hence, consumer could express a more accurate demand response and reduce the perceived food safety risk. Furthermore, education for females might be necessary to have a consistent behavior because self-protection action did not significantly influence female's milk demand, though they have greater risk perceptions than males have.

  • In recent, the various electric & electronic machines are newly developed everyday and the electricity supply system & environment on the process from generation to consumption of electricity also is being changed. In other words, both supplier and consumer of electricity are required to be responsible for their interruption costs. So, it is very important and meaningful work for evaluating the interruption costs in quantitative. Additionally, since the restructuring of electric industry is on going in world wide, after restructuring, most of all electric utilities and consumer have to consider the supply reliability and quality as a important element of the calculating the related costs and contract because it takes costs to keep the supply reliability and quality highly. Especially, the interruption or the supply reliability will have influence on the bilateral contract between supplier and customer as a key point to determine the once in competitive electric market. Therefore, it has very important moaning to calculate the interruption costs in the present that it is prepared to open the competitive electric market. In this paper, international standards, i.e. IEC, IEEE, are applied to the analysis on the interruption costs used in the questionnaires which are newly designed including short duration interruption by the authors instead of traditional interruption criteria. Firstly, using the questionnaires, the authors got related data from industries according to the standard industry classification which are being used in electric utility and other national statistics in Korea. However, analysis results are hard to say typical value because of the not so many samples. So, the authors are going to survey and focus on not all kinds of industry but a few kinds of them that their facilities are effected or stop by short duration interruptions, so there are large economical damages. Finally, the authors hope to find the reliable and meaningful model in interruption costs of industrial customer.

  • Cognitive radio (CR) technology is an effective solution to the spectrum scarcity issue. Collaborative spectrum sensing is known as a promising technique to improve the performance of spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks (CRNs). However, collaborative spectrum sensing is vulnerable to spectrum data falsification (SSDF) attack, where malicious users (MUs) may send false sensing data to mislead other secondary users (SUs) to make an incorrect decision about primary user (PUs) activity, which is one of the key adversaries to the performance of CRNs. In this paper, we propose a coalition based malicious users detection (CMD) algorithm to detect the malicious user in CRNs. The proposed CMD algorithm can efficiently detect MUs base on the Geary'C theory and be modeled as a coalition formation game. Specifically, SSDF attack is one of the key issues to affect the resource allocation process. Focusing on the security issues, in this paper, we analyze the power allocation problem with MUs, and propose MUs detection based power allocation (MPA) algorithm. The MPA algorithm is divided into two steps: the MUs detection step and the optimal power allocation step. Firstly, in the MUs detection step, by the CMD algorithm we can obtain the MUs detection probability and the energy consumption of MUs detection. Secondly, in the optimal power allocation step, we use the Lagrange dual decomposition method to obtain the optimal transmission power of each SU and achieve the maximum utility of the whole CRN. Numerical simulation results show that the proposed CMD and MPA scheme can achieve a considerable performance improvement in MUs detection and power allocation.

  • The incorporation of Shiitake culture into sawdust is a widely utilized technique that can assist in reducing the cost and time consumption associated with oak cultivation. In sawdust cultivation, browning of the surface mycelia is an important stage with respect to the utility and longevity of the sawdust media. Surface browning forms a protective coating on the substrate, which can inhibit the invasion of pathogens and suppress water evaporation. Several different light sources (red LED, white LED, blue LED, and fluorescent light) were used and the intensity of illumination was carefully controlled (1.5, 10.5, $20.5{\mu}mol/m^2s$ for LEDs and 10, 100, 300 lux for the fluorescent light) to induce browning. The light sources were regulated via a 1 h on/off cycle in a controlled room environment at a temperature of $20^{\circ}C$, 60% humidity, and 1200 ppm $CO_2$ concentration for 60days. The browning effect varied depending on the source and the intensity of illumination. This effect was most effectively induced at $1.5{\mu}mol/m^2s$ for the red and blue LEDs. All light sources induced less browning at the highest intensity of illumination. This indicates that intensity values higher than $20.5{\mu}mol/m^2s$ in the case of the LEDs and 300 lux for the fluorescent light are not effective. After harvesting of the fruit bodies, we measured the weight, length, and width of the pileus and stipe in addition to their chromaticity and hardness. Treatment with $1.5{\mu}mol/m^2s$ blue LED produced the best harvest with the highest average chromaticity, weight (21.2 g), stipe length (30.8 mm), and hardness (377.9 g), with a fine length and width of the pileus.

  • As the consumption paradigm shifts from 'possession' to 'subscription', the subscription economy market is growing rapidly. The subscription economy is characterized by the fact that consumers can pay for and purchase products and services and use them limitedly for a limited time. Therefore, this study examined the effect of subjective perception of the time (duration) of consumers' subscription service use on subscription intention according to the time presentation method (duration/date) of subscription service use. In addition, the effect of differences in time presentation methods according to the type of subscription service (utility/hedonic) on subscription intention was examined. As a result of the study, the willingness to subscribe was higher when offering by date than when offering by date. In addition, for subscription services consumed for practical purposes, there was no difference in the effect on subscription intention according to the time presentation method. appeared to be Based on these results, the theoretical significance and practical implications of this study were presented.
