The purposes of this study are to segment female X-generation consumers by the types of conspicuous clothing consumption behavior and to examine the differences among consumer groups with self-respect, the influence of reference group, materialism, and demographic characteristics. A questionnaire was developed and 18-35 year female living in Seoul responded to a questionnaire. The 499 subjects were analyzed. The results can be summarized as follows : Respondents divided into five consumption groups. such as non-conspicuous clothing consumption group, fashion-oriented clothing consumption group, well-known brand and expensive clothing consumption group, imitation c1othing in well-known brand consumption group and imported clothing consumption group. Imitation clothing in well-known brand consumption group. Imported clothing consumption group are the highest average mark in education and family income. Non-conspicuous clothing consumption group is the lowest average mark in education and family Income of five groups. Well-known brand & expensive clothing consumption group is the highest average mark in the influence of reference group, materialism of five groups. Non-conspicuous clothing consumption group is the lowist average mark in the influence of reference group. materialism of five groups.
This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of the levels of dietary Zn and alcohol consumption on lipid metabolism in Sprague-Dawley male rats weighing 80 to 90g for eight weeks. Ninety rats were divided into nine groups according to Zn levels and alcohol consumption such as no alcohol group[low Zn diet group(<1ppm. LZ) control Zn diet group(30ppm. CZ) high Zn diet group(60ppm, HZ)] 10% alcohol consumption group[the same Zn levels as no alcohol group LZLA, CZLA, HZLA] 20% alcohol consumption group[the same Zn levels as no alcohol group, LZHA, CZHA, HZHA] The results obtained were summarized as following : 1) In the serum total cholesterol increased with increasing dietary Zn levels but decreased with alcohol consumption. HDL-cholesterol decreased with alcohol consumption. Triglyce-ride in alcohol group was higher than no alcohol group. In alcohol group triglyceride increased with decreasing dietary Zn levels. 2) In the liver total lipid in alcohol group was higher than no alcohol group HA group showed a significant increase. Triglyceride increased with alcohol consumption. 3) In the serum and liver Zn content increased with increasing dietary Zn levels but decreased with alcohol consumption.
Purpose: Current research aimed at exploring whether group entitativity and satisfaction to becoming the member of group have positive effects on group identification, and whether group identification has positive effects on within-in-group domain consumption. This research focused on the mediation role of group identification in the effects of the group entitativity and the satisfaction to becoming the member of group on the within-in-group domain consumption. Research design, data, and methodology: We selected Shandong Province as our experimental target group and people living in Shandong province as our respondents. 316 questionnaire data were collected. The structural equation model in AMOS 26 were used to verify hypotheses. Results: First, group entitativity affected group identification positively. Second, satisfaction to becoming the member of group affected group identification positively. Third, group identification positively influenced on the within-in-group domain consumption. Fourth, the group identification played the full mediation roles in the effects of both the group entitativity and the satisfaction on the within-in-group domain consumption. Conclusions: marketers should highlight the group identification with their target group by stimulating the perception of the consumer's group entitativity and satisfied feelings about the group to induce the intent to purchase their brand as within-in-group domain consumption object.
The purpose of this study was to find out the clothing-consumption propensity(CCP) and to classify consumption types in CCP and to classify consumption types in CCP and to compare the classfied groups on their consumer characteristics among Korean female X-generation. The survey method was conducted for this study. The subjects are 477 Koran femal X-generation whose age ranges from 18 to 29 and who reside in Seoul and its adjoined areas. The span of the survey was February through March in 1998. the results were analyzed by using of SPSS/PC+package. 1. The clothing consumption motives among the female X-generation were the sensuous satisfaction for posession motive the were practical necessity of the purcahse successively in order. The clothing consumption attitude were the practical electicism the effective value the favorable attitude on low price goods toward sale items and the self-control over their consumption. 2. According to the CCP consumers were classified into five groups: electice and practical group ostentatious and extravagant group passive and economical group sensuous and practical group and sale-fond group. The respective group showed significant difference in the nine factors of the CCP. 3. Consumtion type group had significantly difference in lifestyle among consumer factor and materialistic propensity influence of economic recession follow consumption among social influence factors.
This study examines the differences in store service quality and relationship benefits according to clothing consumption values. This study has collected data from adult consumers in their 20s to 60s via offline and online surveys. A total of 459 survey responses were used for the final analysis. The results of this study were as follows. First, clothing consumption values were composed of 4 factors: emotional, conspicuous, individuality, and practical value. In light of the tendency of consumers' clothing consumption values, consumers have been grouped into 3 consumption groups: hedonic, practical, and practical symbolic. Second, consumers considered price policy product quality, salesperson, product assortment promotion, and convenience of store service quality in the order of importance. Regarding the relationship benefit, consumers considered psychological benefit, economic benefit, informative benefit and social benefit in the order of importance. Third, regarding the importance in service quality for clothing consumption value group, practical symbolic consumption group and practical consumption group considered price policy quality service more important than hedonic consumption group, and practical symbolic consumption group considered product assortment quality, promotion service, salesperson service, convenience of store service more important than other groups. Fourth, regarding the importance of relationship benefits for the clothing consumption value groups, practical symbolic consumption group considered informative benefit and social benefit more important than other groups. The practical symbolic consumption group and practical consumption group considered psychological benefit more important than the hedonic consumption group.
The purpose of this research is to explore the levels of luxury-frugality consumption of the female consumers and classify their types on luxury-frugality consumption behaviors. Total of 479 on-line questionnaires were surveyed nationwide for this research in February, 2012. Statistical analysis was achieved by using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, ${\chi}^2$, and Ward' hierarchical cluster analysis with a total of 479 questionnaires. The research results are summarized as follows: First, the overall luxury-frugality consumption average mark of female consumers was 2.44. Second, all surveyed female consumers were classified into four types based on the means scores of two dimension luxury-frugality consumption behaviors. A total 26.51% of female consumers belonged to Type 1 (named as luxury consumption group) where females scored high points on two dimension luxury consumption behaviors. Type 2 (named as excessive consumption group) occupied 32.78% and this group scored low on the luxurious consumption but high on the overconsumption. Type 3 (named as prefer prestige group) occupied 28.39% and this group scored low on the overconsumption but high on the luxurious consumption. Type 4 (named as frugal consumption group) had 12.32% of females whose scores of two dimension luxury-frugality consumption behaviors were low.

This study classifies conspicuous consumption groups and the difference of fashion involvement and selfsatisfaction by each group. It also examined the effect of fashion involvement on self-satisfaction by each group. A questionnaire method was used for the study method and the subjects of the study were females in their 20s-50s. A total of 580 sets of questionnaires were distributed and 554 sets were used for the final analysis. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA, factor analysis, cluster analysis, Cronbach's alpha coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: First, this study classified 4 groups of active conspicuous consumption, the group of passive conspicuous consumption, the group of syntonic conspicuous consumption and the group pursuing individuality & frugal consumption. Second, as a result of the examination of the impact of fashion involvement for each group with a propensity for conspicuous consumption on their self-satisfaction, it was found that the sex appeal of fashion involvement had no significant impact on the economic satisfaction in the group of active conspicuous consumption, and had no significant impact on all elements of self-satisfaction in the group of passive conspicuous consumption. It was also found that social symbolism had a negative impact on satisfaction with looks in the group of syntonic conspicuous consumption, and the physical complementation and directions of looks had a negative impact on satisfaction with living, the social symbolism on satisfaction with looks and the syntone on satisfaction with looks in the group of pursuing individuality & frugal consumption.
The purpose of this research was to explore the levels of ethical consumption of the college students and classify their types on ethical consumption behaviors. This research was conducted with university students living in Gwangju. Statistical analysis was achieved by using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, $X^2$, and Ward' hierarchical cluster analysis with a total of 761 questionnaires. The research results are summarized as follows: First, the overall ethical consumption average mark of college students was 3.14. Second, all surveyed college students were classified into five types based on the means scores of three dimension ethical consumption behaviors. A total 16.7% of students belonged to Type 1 (named as entire region active group) where students scored high points on three dimension ethical consumption behaviors. Type 2 (named as entire region average group) had about 41.6% of students whose scores were the average mark level in three dimension ethical consumption behaviors. Type 3 (named as future-oriented group) occupied 13.9% and this group scored low on the ethical consumption in commercial transaction but high on the ethical consumption for the future generation. Type 4 (named as commercial transaction oriented group) occupied 9.1% and this group scored low on the ethical consumption for contemporary humankind and the ethical consumption for the future generation but high on the ethical consumption in commercial transaction. Type 5 (named as entire region passive group) had 18.7% of students whose scores of three dimension ethical consumption behaviors were low.
The objective of this study was to find variables related to propensity of compensatory consumption of university students in Korean and Japan. Questionnaires research method was conducted and 477 samples were selected. Korean undergraduates have higher propensity of compensatory consumption for negative feelings than Japan undergraduates. Japan undergraduates have higher propensity of compensatory consumption for positive feelings than Korean undergraduates. Korean undergraduates have a tendency to compensate positive and negative feelings by drinking. Japan undergraduates have a tendency to compensate positive feelings by eating out, and to compensate negative feelings by buying books. In compensatory consumption for positive feelings, Korean undergraduates is influenced by group identity, but Japan undergraduates is influenced by reference group. Propensity of compensatory consumption of Korean undergraduates is mostly influenced by consumption tendency, materialism, group identity, and self-concept. Propensity of compensatory consumption of Japan undergraduates is influenced by consumption tendency, materialism, reference group, and their family income. The strongest predictor of propensity of compensatory consumption of Korean and Japan undergraduates is consumption tendency, followed by materialism.
The major findings are(were) as follows: 1) The Eco-friendly consumption behavior was divided into three(3) clusters, namely "The Middle Group" of eco-friendly consumption behavior(cluster I), "The Inferior group" of eco-friendly consumption behavior(cluster II), and "The Excellent Group" of eco-friendly consumption behavior(cluster III). 2) The differences in the general characteristics among the three clusters were founded on the experience of green consumption information and sources of information. 3) The characteristics of cluster I(The Middle Group) were(are) found to be eco-conscious, and aware of the consequences of behaviors, green market conditions and environmental issues. This cluster was the middle-average group. The characteristics of cluster III(The Excellent Group) were(are) found to have the willingness to pay additional costs, being aware of the social norms of the reference group, having an awareness of eco-institutional conditions, being knowledgeable about environmental policy, and finally, being personally involved in green consumption behavior. This cluster was the high-average group, whereas cluster II(The Inferior Group) was the low-average group.
