MCS/IEI and Personal Exposures of VOCs in Office Worker (사무직 종사자가 일상생활에서 노출되는 VOCs 농도와 화학물질과민증 자각증상에 관한 연구)

  • In our previous research, office workers are relatively frequent in self-reported symptoms suggestive of MCS/IEI compare to construction worker who highly exposed to VOCs compounds. However in that research, the subjects were too small to say it clearly. Based on that research results, self reported symptom surveys to 110 office workers and personal exposure concentration measurement were conducted to 13 of people. VOCs exposure levels were measured within office, house and other places during a week by Passive Sampling Method. In this study, it was found that the number of office workers who met the operational criteria of MCS/IEI was 23.6% similar to 24.5% of previous result, and average of TVOC concentration was appeared high state by order of office, house, and personal exposure.

  • It is predicted the mass retirement of the post-war generation and the lack of young people according to reduces the recruitment. Therefore, industry fields are concerned by the low level of occupational safety and health from issued problem in a variety of industries; the charge of expanding business range/multi-functional, black box of technology, difficulty of systematic training, relative decrease in the skill of workers, loss of know-how in the field of information followed restricted site information. In response to these problems, it is necessary to establish the long-termly and actively based on for the adoption of a safety and health management techniques utilizing IT, which is digital assistant(tablet PC, PDA, etc.), RFID/USN/ICT, database systems, and etc. In this study, we developed and evaluated a worker's safety sensing apparatus using smart phone. The apparatus may be useful to prevent accidents in the construction industry as well as confined space work.

  • For last decade, the number of foreign workers in all industries has been increased continuously. In the construction industry, the number of foreign workers has also increased as 80,000 persons in 2010. According to the increase of foreign workers at domestic construction sites, the frequency of construction disasters has increased as well. The safety education can be a effective solution to decrease the construction disaster. So, it is necessary to develop the appropriate education system for foreign workers. Therefore, the objective of this study is to propose a safety education model for foreign workers and to develop the prototype system. In a result of that, a new safety education model and prototype system was constructed based on the method of E-learning. The system can support for foreign workers in domestic construction sites to understand the safety education easily. And, it can also assist the safety manager to educate and manage the foreign workers efficiently.

  • Safety accidents, which are called industrial accidents in construction work, are often caused by unstable physical and personal conditions combined during preparation and execution of work. It is difficult to manage all the construction works, but especially in the field of apartment construction work, complex and many kinds of works are being carried out at the same time. In the current construction, safety regulations such as safety management guidelines are generally well maintained, but the execution of manpower resources that can fulfill them is limited, and it is difficult to reduce the accident rate and loss cost. Therefore, in this study, it is a reality that most of the types of construction work are under contruction by subcontracting contract, so they are limit by methods of manual maintenance and safety education. Currently, the subcontractor is also allowed to perform safety management through the composition of the safety management review body, but it is operated formally. So alternatives to this were studied. As a result, safety accidents occur in the subcontractor's worker due to vertical integration, which is characteristic of the construction industry, together to the contractor, the safety management system is based on a safety construction system in which a worker who has a certain qualification condition such as career experience of the work type, work understanding of the work type, and management experience of the work type among the subcontractor, when we manage based on mutual personality which is the personality of interpersonal relationship that can communicate with each other by work type, process and grouping, it is concluded that effective and practical safety management can be achieved to reduce the accident rate and loss cost.

In this study, the characteristic of production system and the present condition of construction management were investigated with the help of survey. Thus, the new method of construction management which can clear the previous problems was proposed.

  • In other side the recent construction industry is a skyscraper, a large scale and a sophistication, a construct site have many problems that an aging of worker and shortage of work force. The purpose of this study was to develop the location of tower crane and the simulation technology of tover crane. The automation of tower carne is a important component in skyscrapers. Specially, this study suggested that it was to develop the exact location system through GPS(Global Positioning System) better than former times.
