The Effect of Construction on Ambient PM-10 in the Surrounding Area - Focusing on the Field Case Research - (건설공사가 주변지역 대기 중의 PM-10에 미치는 영향 - 현장사례 연구를 중심으로 -)

  • Objectives: This study evaluated the effect of construction on ambient PM-10 in the surrounding area. Methods: Four study sites were selected from total AAQMN 11 points in Daegu city. All the four study sites were located near under or completed construction. Mean monthly PM-10 in 2007 to 2013 were analyzed. Results: Impact of residential construction on PM-10 was more obvious than industrial area. PM-10 was positively associated with number of construction near the study site. When there were 2 or 3 construction sites, PM-10 level was higher. Wind direction and the surrounding terrain affected PM-10. Conclusions: Construction has a strong influence on PM-10 in the surrounding Area. Reduce PM-10 there is the need for special construction site management. Proper management is required to minimize fugitive dust in construction sites.

But construction process itself has an bad effect on environment: air Pollution, water Pollution, soil Pollution ,etc. These day, Air-environment management becomes very important part in Construction because Construction duration delay which is caused by civil petitions related air-environment occurs frequently. For developing the management-guideline of environment management, This study suggests an executive management-guideline based on surveying air-environmental related laws, regulations and literatures, making out important factors. With the management guideline, The Purpose of this study is to make an air-environmental management system through that Process.

  • The deaths caused by industrial accidents during the construction of the mortality rate is considerably higher than in other industries. To prevent such a disaster workers and to minimize unsafe behavior measures to be drawn, and construction companies recently to stimulate the emotions of the workers to participate in voluntary activities are safe. In this study, the construction workers can stimulate emotions and activities on the environment by examining the preferences of the workers on-site management will want to take advantage. This study revealed that the construction workers prefer the incentive most and then working environment.

  • Chinese construction industry has been enjoying a good opportunity for development which appeals to lots of foreign investment. However, the difference in socioeconomic environment and legal environment brings difficulties to foreign enterprises. This paper analyses the institution environment in Chinese construction market. The main objective is to form an insight of Chinese construction environment, and to identify critical factors that may block the way of foreign enterprises.

  • This research evaluated the construction market and project environment of nine nations within the ASEAN members. Quantitative data from global consulting firms and international organizations were identified and normalized for evaluation. The result of the analysis was that Indonesia was ranked highest for construction market growth while Singapore was ranked highest for stability of project environment. The research results can be utilized by construction companies that are planning on entering the construction market within the ASEAN members.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate total $CO_2$ amount of steel and reinforced concrete construction, and compare and analyze $CO_2$ amount on construction-material. And then it was studied about new element that environment compatibility of architecture structure design based on paradigm of environment age. Architecture action should have proceeded course that reduce burden of the earth environment in relation between architecture and environment and increase contact of human and nature. As environment compatibility development is emphasized with architecture development, architecture structure design give improvement of one important element that environment compatibility except stability, function, economy and necessary propriety of environment compatability of construction design.

  • Many cut slopes are situated on national highways. In this study, we chose rock slopes of moderated weathering grade to analyze general strength parameters of cut slopes. We analyzed the strength parameters of selected rock slopes by the experience method. Also, we arranged the strength parameters by area and rock types.
