  • This paper describes the development of integrated simulator with GUI(Graphic User Interface) for traction power supply system. This simulator consists of a lot of calculation modules such as TPS, train time schedule, line constant, and power supply system analysis. Each module has input and output structure respectively. The algorithms of all modules have confirmed the validity to comparison with field test that is performed on both high speed railway line and conventional line.

  • The emission line objects such as planetary nebulae, symbiotics, gaseous nebulae, HII regions, novae, supernovae, SNRs, nearby spiral galaxies, dIrr, dE, and nearby active galactic nuclei, would be goldmines for us to dig with the 1.8m bohyunsan optical (BOAO) telescope. We discussed the importance of strategically important diagnostic lines and atomic constant calculation for a study of Galactic and extragalactic emission objects. The scientific background on a spectrometer development history is briefly presented and spectroscopic research areas other than the emission objects are also summarized.

  • This paper describes design for dual-linear polarization antenna using EMC(electromagnetic-coupled) dipole. EMC dipole has a simple element structure and it is fed by microstrip line. Vortical and horizontal polarization are determined by structure of dipole fed by microstrip line. FDTD Method is used for an analysis of antenna element. Length, width, height and offset of dipole are designed for 1-element antenna. Resonant length of diploe differs from the calculated value by a formula because of coupling effect of dipole and feed line. Radiation Power is controlled by the offset of dipole. In prectical fabrication of antenna array, a constant height of dipoles is required. Therefore, the teflon plate with height of 0.8 mm is considered in antenna element design for the vertical polarization.

  • Mammalian cell based biosensor kits are expected to be in assessment of samples toxicity more sensitive and accurate. A recombinant fluorescent Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell line was known to be responsive to the various toxicants Specially. KFC- AlO cell line. which contain the c-fos SRE::GFP plasmid (pKFG). was found to be able to detect toxicants sensitively. A biosensor kit was developed by using an immobilized KFC-A10 cell line. Immobilized recombinant fluorescent cells within agarose, known as a representative hydrogel matrix, have been maintained in the matrix viably and have shown constant fluorescent levels for long time. Immobilized cells have shown the ability to detect the chemical toxicity in the keep of fluorescent level as the metabolism is inhibited under toxic conditions.

  • The line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor has a high efficiency and an advantage in constant speed operation regardless of the effect of load variation. However it is difficult to predict the performance of characteristics accurately, because of the unbalanced starting torque with the initial starting position of the rotor and the generation of a break torque. In this paper the dynamic characteristics of the line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor are described and compared with those of the squirrel-cage induction motor through the simulation to find the characteristics of the permanent magnets and the rotor bars in the line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor.

  • In this paper, we propose a microstrip line tunable phase shifter. If we vary the applied bias voltage, the relative dielectric constant of ferroelectrics also changes and we designed tunable phase shifter using Au/BSTO/MgO/Au structure. We also used a coupling structure to increase the amount of phase shift at certain frequency in a limited size and we could reduce the loss by reducing the line width.

  • Underwater acoustic noise measurement is an essential element for vulnerability assessment of modern naval platforms. But during the last few decades environmental conditions have drastically changed due to the gradually increasing sea ambient noise level and decreasing submarine radiated noise level. A real-time underwater acoustic measurement system with vertical line array is designed for the quiet submarine radiated noise assessment in challenging environment. This system has a constant directivity index in measurement frequency range and accurate tracking capability for the transmission loss compensation and navigation aids inside the submarine. This system has been validated at sea and used several times for the submarine noise measurement.

  • Analysis and design procedures for the symmetrical and non-symmetrical interdigitated four-port microstrip couplers conssiting of symmetrical three lines is presented. The configuration is simple and a lesser number of bond wires are requires as compared to the four-line couplers which are used. Physical dimensions of 3. 6 and 10dB couplers with substrates having typical dielectric constant values of 2.55 and 10 can be found by using the tables and charts.

  • The construction conditions of transmission line in Korea are very hard. Actually, the construction project is processed inefficiently with constant civil appeal and interference by local residents of a region and environment organization, not to speak of landlord, because it is regarded as antipathy facility and passes through a lot of regions. Especially, it is concluded that effective practice of a construction project is serious in the future because transmission power voltage was upgraded to 765kV according to a sharp increase of electric power demand. Therefore, with the background of the experience of the past, this paper is aimed to study and establish a reasonable improvement plan which enables to eliminate wasteful factors for effective construction work of transmission line.

  • Multilayer microstrip lines are an integral part of an MMIC. This paper presents an analysis of multilayer GaAs-MMIC microstrip line using a spectral domain method(SDM) taking into account the effect of the variation in the thickness of various layers of substrates on the characteristic impedance and the effective dielectric constant of the line. This work is expected to be useful in GaAs foundries for accurate CAD modelling of the microstrip lines up to 40GHz.
