남강의 수질예측을 위한 QUAL2E 모델 적용 (Application of QUAL2E Model to Water Quality Prediction of the Nam river)

  • 하천 수질관리 모델인 QUAL2E를 남강에 적용한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 모델변수의 민감도 분석 결과는 BOD, DO의 경우 BOD decay rate constant, 영양염류인 경우 Org-N oxidation rate constant, $NH_3-N$ oxidation rate constant, Org-P decay rate constant가 각 수질인자에 중요한 변수로 작용하였다. 2. 모델보정 결과를 보면 실측치와 예측치의 상관성은 DO, BOD의 경우 r=0.93, 0.94로 높은 상관성을 보였으며 영양염류인 경우는 질산성 질소가 r=0.61이었으나, 그 외는 r=0.90 이상으로 나타났다. 3. 모델검증 결과는 보정시보다 상관성이 떨어졌으나 DO, $NO_3-N$의 경우 r=0.68, 0.45로 낮고 그 외는 r=0.75이상으로 높은 편으로 나타났다. 4. 유량과 부하량의 변화에 대하여 하류 40.5 Km 이후의 BOD 농도변화는 적었으나, 하수종말처리장 건설이후 유량과 부하량을 변화시켜 수질농도를 예측한 결과 하류 40.5 Km 이후는 함안천의 영향을 받을 것으로 예측되었다.

시추공 수리전도도 상수를 결정하기 위한 전기전도도검층 기법을 이용한 예비모형실험 (A Preliminary Conductivity Model Experiment for Determining Hydraulic Constants in Physical Model Borehole)

  • 간단한 모형시추공을 이용한 전기전도도 측정실험을 실시하고 이로부터 시추공에서의 수리상수 결정에 관련된 제반기초 환경을 검증하고 실험에 의한 모델방정식을 유도하였다. 실험은 상대적으로 높은 염도를 공내수로 하고 증류수를 지하수를 사용하여, 지하수의 유입과 유출되는 유량을 일정하게 유지한 상태에서 전기전도도를 측정하는 것으로 이루어졌다. 관찰의 주 대상은 지하수의 유량, 공내수와 지하수 사이의 염도차 및 밀도차에 따른 공내에서의 전기전도도 변화 양상에 있었다. 실험결과, 공내에서의 시간에 따른 전기전도도 변화가 매우 일정한 양상으로 나타남을 보였으며, 유량과 전기전도도 변화율 사이에 양호한 상관관계가 얻어졌다. 이 결과는 향후 추가될 일반적인 수리상수와 검층수리 상수들의 비교연구로 모델방정식에 대한 검증이 이루어진다면, 희석모델에 근거한 전기전도도검층 기법이 수리 상수 결정을 위한 효과적인 방법이 될 수 있음을 보여 주었다.

도시지역 공사 시 발파 소음·진동 예측식 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development for Prediction Model of Blasting Noise and Vibration During Construction in Urban Area)

  • 본 연구는 인천, 수원, 원주, 양산 지역에서 발파작업 동안 취득한 320개의 발파 진동 및 발파 소음 데이터를 사용하여, 발파 진동 및 발파 소음 추정에 적용가능한 예측식을 개발하였다. 발파진동 예측식은 회귀분석결과, SRSD 및 CRSD에 의한 상관계수가 각각 0.879, 0.890이며 두 경우 모두 R2 ≥ 0.7로 나타났다. 발파소음 예측식은 단계적 회귀분석을 수행한 결과, 상관계수는 0.911, R2 ≥ 0.7로 유의미하게 높은 상관관계를 보였다. 상수값 결정을 위한 추가 회귀분석 결과 상관계수는 0.881, R2 ≥ 0.7로 나타났다. 상기의 결과, 개발된 예측식이 다른 도시지역의 재건축사업이나 공동주택 건설에 따른 환경영향평가나 교육환경평가의 소음·진동분야 보고서 작성 시 정합성이 높은 발파소음·진동 예측값을 도출할 수 있을것으로 기대한다.

Two-dimensional near-infrared correlation spectroscopy, principal component analysis and water structure

  • The structure of water molecules in the pure liquid state has been subjected to extensive research for several decades. Questions still remain unanswered, however, and no single model has been found capable of explaining all the anomalies of water. In the present study near-infrared spectra of water in the temperature region 6-$80^{\circ}C$ have been analysed by use of principal component analysis (PCA) and two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy in order to study the dynamic behaviour of the water band centred at 1440 nm, which is due to the combination of symmetric and antisymmetric O-H stretching modes. It has been found that the wavelengths 1412 and 1491 nm account for more than 99% of the spectral variation, representing two major water species with weaker and stronger hydrogen bonds, respectively. A third species located at 1438 nm, whose concentration was relatively constant as a function of temperature, is also indicated. A somewhat distorted two-state structural model for water is suggested.

연속류도로 합류영향구간 속도-밀도 상관관계 분석 (Analysis of Speed-Density Correlation on a Merge Influence Section in Uninterrupted Facility)

  • A연속류도로는 교통량-속도-밀도 간에 상호 밀접한 관계가 있기 때문에 연결로교통류가 본선에 합류하게 되면 속도나 밀도가 변할 뿐만 아니라 이들 간의 상관관계를 나타내는 모형식도 달라진다. 따라서, 본 연구는 합류영향권역에서 시공간적으로 연속된 교통자료를 이용하여 속도-밀도 변수간의 상관관계 변화구간을 파악하고, 구간별 변화내용을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 상류 및 합류구간에서는 "Underwood"모형의 지수형태를 보이며, 합류구간을 통과한 하류구간에서는 "Greenshields"모형의 직선형태를 나타내었다. 속도-밀도 상관관계가 변화된 하류변화구간은 연결로와 접속한 3차로의 합류 종점부를 기점으로 하류 100m~500m 범위에서 내측차로로 갈수록 점차 하류방향으로 이동하는 현상을 보였다. 또한, 상류구간, 합류구간, 하류변화구간은 속도-밀도 모형에서 자유속도(상수)와 혼잡밀도에 대한 자유속도비(기울기)가 통계적으로 서로 다른 이질적인 교통류로 나타났다.

Influence of Diet Induced Changes in Rumen Microbial Characteristics on Gas Production Kinetics of Straw Substrates In vitro

  • The effect of diets varying in level and source of nitrogen (N) and fermentable organic matter on dynamic characteristics of microbial populations in rumen liquor and their impact on substrate fermentation in vitro was studied. The diets tested were straw alone, straw+concentrate mixture and straw+urea molasses mineral block (UMMB) lick. The same diets were taken as substrates and tested on each inoculum collected from the diets. Diet had no effect on the amino acid (AA) composition of either bacteria or protozoa. Differences among the diets in intake, source of N and OM affected bacterial and protozoal characteristics in the rumen. Upper asymptote of gas production (Y$\alpha$) had a higher correlation with bacterial pool size and production rate than with protozoal pool size and production rate. Among the parameters of the gas production model, Y$\alpha$ and lag time in total gas has showed significant (p<0.01) correlation with bacterial characteristics. Though the rate constant of gas production significantly differed (p<0.01) between diet and type of straw, it was least influenced by the microbial characteristics. The regression coefficient of diet and type of straw for Y$\alpha$ indicated that the effect of diet on Y$\alpha$ was threefold higher than that of the straw. As microbial characteristics showed higher correlation with Y$\alpha$, and diet had more influence on the microbial characteristics, gas production on a straw diet could be used effectively to understand the microbial characteristics.

열간 마무리압연 설정의 정도향상을 위한 동적 설정법 (A Dynamic Set-up Technique for High Accuracy set-up of Continuous Hot Strip Finishing Mill)

  • A dynamic mill set-up technique was developed to achieva a more precise roll gap set-up of the finishing mill stands for steel strip rolling. In the conventional mill set-up model the set-up values such as roll gap and roll speed are determined before the sheet bar reached the entry side of the finishing mill train and maintained constant until the strip top end passes through the last stand. In the way however a dynamic set-up logic that gives a way to adjust the roll gap value of the final mill stand for the strip ingoing from the ahead of the front stand was developed and attached to the existing set-up model. The roll gap modification is based on the analysis of the observation in the third stand of the finishing mill train. The dynamic set-up model was proved very effective for the more precise mill set-up and for operational stability in the hot strip finishing mill train.

Cu(II)를 이용하여 표면개질된 활성탄의 인산염 제거효율 향상 (Enhancement of phosphate removal using copper impregnated activated carbon(GAC-Cu))

  • The adsorption process using GAC is one of the most secured methods to remove of phosphate from solution. This study was conducted by impregnating Cu(II) to GAC(GAC-Cu) to enhance phosphate adsorption for GAC. In the preparation of GAC-Cu, increasing the concentration of Cu(II) increased the phosphate uptake, confirming the effect of Cu(II) on phosphate uptake. A pH experiment was conducted at pH 4-8 to investigate the effect of the solution pH. Decrease of phosphate removal efficiency was found with increase of pH for both adsorbents, but the reduction rate of GAC-Cu slowed, indicating electrostatic interaction and coordinating bonding were simultaneously involved in phosphate removal. The adsorption was analyzed by Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm to determine the maximum phosphate uptake(qm) and adsorption mechanism. According to correlation of determination(R2), Freundlich isotherm model showed a better fit than Langmuir isotherm model. Based on the negative values of qm, Langmuir adsorption constant(b), and the value of 1/n, phosphate adsorption was shown to be unfavorable and favorable for GAC and GAC-Cu, respectively. The attempt of the linearization of each isotherm obtained very poor R2. Batch kinetic tests verified that ~30% and ~90 phosphate adsorptions were completed within 1h and 24 h, respectively. Pseudo second order(PSO) model showed more suitable than pseudo first order(PFO) because of higher R2. Regardless of type of kinetic model, GAC-Cu obtained higher constant of reaction(K) than GAC.

고온 고압에서 혼합연료의 층류화염속도 예측 모델에 대한 연구 (Laminar Flame Speed Model of Fuel Blends at Elevated Temperatures and Pressures)

  • Iso-octane, n-heptane and their blends were tested in a constant volume combustion chamber to measure laminar flame speeds. The experimental apparatus was automatically controlled to enhance the accuracy and data acquisition speed. A large database of laminar flame speeds at elevated temperatures and pressures was established. From this database, laminar flame speeds of iso-octane, n-heptane and their blends were investigated and analysed to derive new correlation to predict laminar flame speeds at any blending ratio. The new flame speed model was successfully applied to these fuels with limited range of errors.

Thermal-hydraulic simulation and evaluation of a natural circulation thermosyphon loop for a reactor cavity cooling system of a high-temperature reactor

  • The investigation into a full-scale 27 m high, by 6 m wide, thermosyphon loop. The simulation model is based on a one-dimensional axially-symmetrical control volume approach, where the loop is divided into a series of discreet control volumes. The three conservation equations, namely, mass, momentum and energy, were applied to these control volumes and solved with an explicit numerical method. The flow is assumed to be quasi-static, implying that the mass-flow rate changes over time. However, at any instant in time the mass-flow rate is constant around the loop. The boussinesq approximation was invoked, and a reasonable correlation between the experimental and theoretical results was obtained. Experimental results are presented and the flow regimes of the working fluid inside the loop identified. The results indicate that a series of such thermosyphon loops can be used as a cavity cooling system and that the one-dimensional theoretical model can predict the internal temperature and mass-flow rate of the thermosyphon loop.
