  • Visible Light Communication (VLC) using Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) within the existing lighting infrastructure can reduce the implementation cost and may gain higher throughput than radio frequency (RF) or Infrared (IR) based wireless systems. Current indoor VLC systems may suffer from poor downlink resource allocation problems and small system throughput. To address these two issues, we propose an algorithm called a conflict graph scheduling (CGS) algorithm, including a conflict graph and a scheme that is based on the conflict graph. The conflict graph can ensure that users are able to transmit data without interference. The scheme considers the user fairness and system throughput, so that they both can get optimum values. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can guarantee significant improvement of system throughput under the premise of fairness.

  • In this paper, we present a technique for obtaining conflict-free schedules for real-time automation protocol for industrial Ethernet (RAPIEnet) switches. Mathematical model of the switch is obtained using graph theory. Initially network traffic entry and exit parts in a single RAPIEnet switch are identified, so that a bipartite conflict graph can be constructed. The obtained conflict graph is transformed to three kinds of matrices to be used as inputs for our simulation model, and selection of any of the matrix forms is application-specific. A greedy edge-coloring algorithm is used to schedule the network traffic and to solve the minimum coloring problem. After scheduling, empty slots are identified for forwarding the non real-time traffic of asynchronous devices. Finally, an algorithm for synchronizing the schedules of adjacent switches is proposed using edge-contraction and minors. All simulations were carried out using Matlab.

  • Power line communication (PLC) is one of the major communication technologies in smart grid since it combines good communication capability with easy and simple deployment. As a power network can be modeled as a graph, we propose a vertex coloring based slot reuse scheduling in the time division multiple access (TDMA) period for PLCs. Our objective is to minimize the number of assigned time slots, while satisfying the quality of service (QoS) requirement of each station. Since the scheduling problem is NP-hard, we propose an efficient heuristic scheduling, which consists of repeated vertex coloring and slot reuse improvement algorithms. The simulation results confirm that the proposed algorithm significantly reduces the total number of time slots.

  • In this work, we consider the optimization problem of minimizing energy consumption for real-time multicast over wireless multi-hop networks. Previously, a distributed primal-dual subgradient algorithm was used for finding a solution to the optimization problem. However, the traditional subgradient algorithms have drawbacks in terms of i) sensitivity to iteration parameters; ii) need for saving previous iteration results for computing the optimization results at the current iteration. To overcome these drawbacks, using a joint network coding and scheduling optimization framework, we propose a novel distributed primal-dual Random Deflected Subgradient (RDS) algorithm for solving the optimization problem. Furthermore, we derive the corresponding recursive formulas for the proposed RDS algorithm, which are useful for practical applications. In comparison with the traditional subgradient algorithms, the illustrated performance results show that the proposed RDS algorithm can achieve an improved optimal solution. Moreover, the proposed algorithm is stable and robust against the choice of parameter values used in the algorithm.

  • This paper proposes the high speed LDPC decoder structure base on the DVB-S2. Firstly, We study the solution to avoid the memory conflict. For the high speed decoding process the decoder adapts the HSS(Horizontal Shuffle Scheduling) scheme. Secondly, for the high speed decoding algorithm normalized Min-Sum algorithm is adapted instead of Sum-Product algorithm. And the self corrected is a variant of the LDPC decoding that sets the reliability of a Mc${\rightarrow}$v message to 0 if there is an inconsistency between the signs of the current incoming messages Mv'${\rightarrow}$c and the sign of the previous incoming messages Moldv'${\rightarrow}$c This self-corrected algorithm avoids the propagation on unreliable information in the Tanner graph and thus, helps the convergence of the decoder.Start after striking space key 2 times. Lastly, and this paper propose the optimal hardware architecture supporting the high speed throughput.

  • Industrial WSNs need great performance and reliable communication. In industrial WSNs, cluster structure reduces the cost to form a network, and the reservation-based MAC is a more powerful and reliable protocol than the contention-based MAC. Depth-based TDMA assigns time slots to each sensor node in a cluster-based network and it works in a distributed manner. DB-TDMA is a type of depth-based TDMA and guarantees scalability and energy efficiency. However, it cannot allocate time slots in parallel and cannot perfectly avoid a collision because each node does not know the total network information. In this paper, we suggest an improved distributed algorithm to reduce the end-to-end delay of DB-TDMA, and the proposed algorithm is compared with DRAND and DB-TDMA.
