  • For systematic and effective achievement of Military R&D(Research and Development) processes and activities, information system which supports the concept of Systems Engineering is necessary. WISEMAN(Weapon System Information Integration for System Engineering and Management) is an information integration system, which can provide various kinds of interrelated application functions and assist the collaboration and concurrent engineering activities for weapon system R&D processes and activities. WISEMAN can manage the design information and configuration data of the target development products. It takes charge of the processes and histories about the product data, makes to share all the design information, and provides important application functions for R&D processes such as requirement management, product structure management, parts Management, documents and CAD drawing management, design change management, TDP(Technical Data Package) management etc., and in conjunction with these functions WISEMAN controls various effectivities of system configurations based on baselines and model information. WISEMAN has been used by ADD and Rotem Co. since developed.

  • Recently, the rapid evolution of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has enabled its key role in industries and predictive sciences. From diverse research disciplines, however, are there strong needs for integrated analytical tools for multi-phenomena beyond simple flow simulation. Based on the concurrent simulation of multi-dynamics, multi-phenomena beyond simple flow simulation. Based on the concurrent simulation of multi-dynamics, multi-physics and multi-scale phenomena, the multi-phenomena CFD technology enables us to perform the flow simulation for integrated and complex systems. From the multi-phenomena CFD analysis, the high-precision analytical and predictive capacity can enhance the fast development of industrial technologies. It is also expected to further enhance the applicability of the simulation technique to medical and bio technology, new and renewable energy, nanotechnology, and scientific computing, among others.

  • In recent years, many robotics researches have been focused on developing human-friendly robots, that is, humanoid biped robots. The researches of humanoid robots include various areas such as hardware development, control of biped locomotion, artificial intelligence, human interaction, etc. The present work concerns the hardware development of a mid-size humanoid robot, BONOBO, focusing on rapid development of outer body parts with integrated application if CAD/CAM/CAE/RP. Most parts are three-dimensionally designed using 3D CAD, and effectively connected with CAE analyses using both kinematic simulation and structural analysis. In order to reduce lead time and investment cost for parts developments, Rapid Prototyping (RP) and CAM are selectively utilized for manufacturing body parts. These master parts are then replicated using the vacuum casting process, from which we can obtain plastic parts repeatedly. Through this integrated approach, the first prototype of BONOBO can be successfully developed with relatively low time and investment costs.

Virtual Standards Development Environments for Concurrent Standardization Process

  • Recently, the increased handling of on-line standards information has emerged as an important feature of information and communications technology (ICT) standardization. In order to meet market needs for on-time standards deployment, most standards organizations are actively seeking more efficient ways of standardization using electronic means in order to accelerate the standards making process. This paper suggests a virtual standard development environment designed for standards developers to carry out their standards-related activities on-line. In this paper, we outline a conceptual model of a concurrent standardization process and describe the design and implementation of an Extranet-based network system called standards information cooperative network (SICN). The system was created with a view to fostering faster standards development with functionalities such as a virtual management of networked standards developers, collaboration support tools, a workflow-based electronic signature system, and dynamic links for ready retrieval of standards information stored in a database. We conclude this paper with an introduction to the concept of a virtual standards development organization (VSDO) that supports all the features needed by the relevant standards making bodies to carry out their activities in a dynamic on-line environment.

순환식 병류형 곡물건조기 개발(II) - 시뮬레이션모델의 검증 - (Development of a Rice Circulating Concurrent-flow Dryer(II) - Validation of Drying Simulation Model -)

  • This study was performed to develop a simulation model of circulating concurrent-flow rice dryer. The simulation model consists of drying model, tempering model and crack prediction model. The drying and tempering models were developed based on mathematical analysis, and the crack prediction model was developed by thin layer drying tests. Rice drying tests were done with three replications by use of a pilot scale dryer of holding capacity of 700 kg. Experimental values for moisture content, rice temperature, rice crack, and drying energy were compared with predicted values by simulation model. The RMSEs of predicted moisture contents were ranged from 0.5807% (d.b.) to 1.1951% (d.b.). and the coefficients of determination were 0.9688 to 0.9812. The RMSEs of predicted rice temperatures at the exit of the drying chamber were 1.83 to $3.81^{\circ}C$ and the coefficients of determination were 0.8834 to 0.9482. The results for moisture contents and rice temperatures showed very good relationships between predicted values and experimental values. The RMSEs of predicted value of crack ratio were 0.4082 to 0.7967% and the coefficients of determination were 0.8742 to 0.9547.

  • 이른 시스템 개발 단계에서 요구사항 에러를 찾기 위해서는 시스템의 행위가 정형 언어로 표현되어야 하고, 도달성 분석이나 싸이클 탐색과 같은 분석 기술로 분석해야 한다. 하지만 이 기술들은 시스템의 상태 공간 순회를 기반으로 하기 때문에 시스템이 복잡해지면 상태 폭발 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 즉, 순회를 위한 메모리와 수행 시간이 큰 상태 공간 때문에 기하 급수적으로 증가한다. 본 논문에서는 병행 시스템에서 이러한 문제가 나타나는 원인을 지적하고 순회에 필요한 메모리를 줄이기 위해서 병행적 상태 공간을 합성하지 않고 순회한다. 또한 수행 시간을 줄이기 위해서 방문 기록을 최소한으로 유지하는 새로운 기술을 제시한다. 마지막으로 이 기법이 효과적임을 실험 결과를 통해 보인다.

  • 컴포넌트 기반 플랫폼이 갖는 주 한계점은 컴포넌트 기반 시스템이 갖는 컴포넌트간 상호작용과 관련된 행위에 대한 기술과 추론에 대한 적당한 수단을 제대로 제공하지 못한다는 것이다. 현 컴포넌트 기반 플래폼이 CORBA의 IDL과 같은 컴포넌트에 대한 시그네쳐 수준에서의 기술을 위한 방법을 제공하기는 하지만, 이는 컴포넌트들간 상호작용과 같은 행위 기술을 저 수준에서 제공하는 것에 불과하다 컴포넌트 기반 시스템에서 중요한 과제 중 하나는 바로 컴포넌트들간 상호작용과 같은 행위를 기술하는 것과 이를 바탕으로 행위에 대한 검증이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 프로세스 대수를 이용하여 컴포넌트 인터페이스의 명세 정의와 추상화된 소프트웨어 아키텍처를 어떻게 만족시킬 것인가를 보장받기위한 role의 결합방법, 생성된 아키텍처에 대한 전개규칙, 시각화방법을 연구한다. 또한 사례연구를 통해 본 논문에서 제안한 명세기법 및 정의의 타당함을 보였다.

인터넷 기반의 선박 기본계획 지원시스템 개발 (Development of Internet-based Basic Planning System for Ships)

  • The industrial environment for shipbuilding in 21st century requires increase in few type of ships and marine structures, international cooperation and globalization, while virtual enterprise environment is rapidly establishing. On the other hand, more and more efforts will be spent on internet based distributed and collaborative environment rather than being spent on unit level automations such as CAD, CAM and CAE, and the link between them. Recent internet technology and information technology in heterogeneous environment are being applied in shipbuilding industry as well as in other industries. While these technology are rapidly adopted in major shipyards, many small and medium-sized shipyards does not have enough resources to introduce system designed for large enterprise. In this paper, a prototype of Internet technology based basic planning system is implemented for the small and medium sized shipyards based on the internet technology and concurrent engineering concept. First, the system is designed from the user requirements. Then standardized development environment and tools are selected. These tools are used for defining and evaluating core application technologies for the system development. This can guarantee the survival of small and medium-sized shipyards in 21st century industrial environment.

  • Concurrent Engineering (CE) has presented new possibilities for successful product development by incorporating various product life-cycle functions from the earlier stage of design. In the product design, geometric representation is vital not only in its traditional role as a means of communicating design information but also in its role as a means of externalizing designer's thought process by visualizing the design product. During the last dozens of years, there has been extraordinary development of computer-aided tools intended to generate, present or communicate 3D models. However, there has not been comparable progress in the development of 3D-CAD systems intended to represent and manipulate a variety of product life-cycle information in a consistent manner. In the previous research, the authors proposed a novel concept called Minus Volume (MV) to incorporate various design information relevant to product life-cycle functions. This paper proposes the use of the MV concept for the collaborative design environment, where many team members are geographically distributed over the networked environment, including Internet, Intranet, WWW, etc. A prototype 3D-CAD system is implemented based on the MV concept and illustrated with the successful implementation of collaborative design example.

중첩-동시개발 소프트웨어의 생명주기 모델 (Life Cycle Model of Over lapped-Concur rent Software)

  • 소프트웨어 프로젝트에 대해 12개의 다른 소프트웨어 생명주기 모델들이 제안되었지만 모든 소프트웨어의 특성을 만족시킬 수 있는 일반화된 모델이 없는 실정이다. 개발조직은 여러 모델들을 적절히 혼합하여 개발될 시스템과 능력에 맞도록 새로운 모델을 개발하여야만 한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 소프트웨어 개발 상황에 보다 적합할 것으로 판단되는 중첩-동시개발 생명주기 모델을 제안하였다. 먼저, 개발 과정을 추상화와 구현으로 구분하여 추상화는 개념정립단계부터 상세설계단계 시작시점까지로, 구현은 상세설계단계부터 시스템 시험단계로 분류하였다. 다음으로, 추상화는 파레토 법칙을 적용하여 하나의 단계에서 개발될 기능이 20% 진행된 시점에서 다음 단계를 시작하는 중첩된 단계 개념을 도입하였다. 구현은 하나의 UC가 완료되면 바로 다음 단계 수행 팀에게 전달하여 여러 단계가 동시 수행되어 개발하는 형태를 도입하였다. 제안된 모델은 개발자원 활용의 비효율성을 크게 줄일 수 있는 장점이 있다. 제안된 모델을 적용시 보다 빠른 시간에 보다 저렴한 비용으로 보다 좋은 품질의 소프트웨어를 개발하여 고객에게 납품할 수 있어 고객을 만족도를 향상시킬 수 있으며, 더불어 소프트웨어 개발 성공률을 높이는데도 기여할 것으로 판단된다.
