  • Ultra high strength concrete (UHSC) originally proposed by Richards and Cheyrezy (1995) composed of cement, silica fume, quartz sand, quartz powder, steel fibers, superplasticizer etc. Later, other ingredients such as fly ash, GGBS, metakaoline, copper slag, fine aggregate of different sizes have been added to original UHSC. In the present investigation, the combined effect of coarse aggregate (6mm - 10mm) and steel fibers (0.50%, 1.0% and 1.5%) has been studied on UHSC mixes to evaluate mechanical and fracture properties. Compressive strength, split tensile strength and modulus of elasticity were determined for the three UHSC mixes. Size dependent fracture energy was evaluated by using RILEM work of fracture and size independent fracture energy was evaluated by using (i) RILEM work of fracture with tail correction to load - deflection plot (ii) boundary effect method. The constitutive relationship between the residual stress carrying capacity (σ) and the corresponding crack opening (w) has been constructed in an inverse manner based on the concept of a non-linear hinge from the load-crack mouth opening plots of notched three-point bend beams. It was found that (i) the size independent fracture energy obtained by using above two approaches yielded similar value and (ii) tensile stress increases with the increase of % of fibers. These two fracture properties will be very much useful for the analysis of cracked concrete structural components.

  • The work is intended to demonstrate that the loss of bond between concrete and flexural steel which led in recent years a number of flat-slab structures to punching collapse under service loading conditions is also relevant to ultimate limit-state design. It is based on a comparative study of the results obtained from numerical experiments on flat slab-column sub-assemblages. The slabs were designed for punching either in compliance with the EC2 code requirements, which do not allow for such loss of bond, or in accordance with the compressive force-path method which considers the loss of bond between concrete and the flexural reinforcement in tension as the primary cause of punching. The numerical experiments are carried out through the use of a nonlinear finite element analysis package for which, although ample published evidence of its validity exists, additional proof of its suitability for the purposes of the present work is presented.

  • The behavior of stocky concrete-filled glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP) tubes was studied experimentally and analytically The behavior is focused on the confining action of GRFP tube against concrete. In the experimental work, extensive tensile tests for GFRP tubes which have various fiber lay-out were conducted. And, also short length concrete filled GFRP tubes which have various tube thickness, diameter, and length were tested. In the analytical work, equations to describe the compressive stresses and strains at failure, as well as the entire stress-strain curve of the GFRP tubes were developed. A comparison between the experimental results and those of analytical results indicate that the proposed model provides satisfactory predictions for the compressive strengths, strains at failure, and stress-strain responses.

  • Recently, the concern for mechanical properties at early age concrete are increasing because of the importance of the thermal stress and the determination of removal time of form work and prestressing work. In this study, an estimation for the development of compressive strength and elastic modulus with age in concretes isothermally cured $(10^{\circ}C,\;20^{\circ}C)$ and having W/C ratio of 30, 40, and $50\%$ were investigated. According to experiment results, the development of compressive strength and elastic modulus shows higher values at early ages as the W/C ratio decreases and curing temperature increases. When the maturity concept, for estimation of the strength, is adopted, a modification for W/C ratio is required at early ages.

  • There are a lot of problem about waterproofing membrane coating for concrete deck of bridge and waterproofing sheets for concrete of deck of bridge because it couldn't confirm waterproofing's defeat after construction. These problems make a waterproofing material damage and condrete deck of bridge damage. So It needs a lot of money for repair work and reinforcement work. Therefor the structure slab of using waterproofing material protect invasion of water. Also, Concrete deck of bridge need a endurance permeability for the reduction repair payment. In this study, An experimental study on the quality standardization test method waterproofing layer on working of live load.

  • The 3D simulations of the shielding concrete and the Rotary Specimen Rack(RSR) in the Korea Research Reactor-1&2(KRR-1&2) were carried out in present work. Four main dismantling processes, which are the removal of the RSR, reactor core region, beam tube, and thermal column and activated concrete, were selected for the graphic simulation by the consideration of the activation, worker training, work difficulty and so on. On the basis of these, we constructed their 3D CAD models and then drawn and reviewed their dismantling processes. In this study, the 3D simulation results of the shielding concrete and the RSR among main components are also presented and discussed.

  • Substantial experimental and theoretical work exists on the bond characteristics of FRP-concrete adhesive joints. Analytic solutions based on fracture mechanics are most commonly accepted for theoretical work on joint. The solutions may be derived for the simple form of the shear strees-slip curve. And it is difficult to determine the model parameters consisting the curve. In this study, the bilinear curve with softening branch is introduced. The model parameters are determined by the method described by the companion paper with comparison of test results. There are many uncertainties in the test results of CFRP sheet adhesive joints, so that test results used for the construction of the regression problem should be reasonably selected.

  • The work aims at the comparison among commonly used research programs concerning moment-curvature ($M-{\chi}$) diagrams of confined R.C. members. The software considered in this work are Sap2000, SeismoStruct and Opensees. The curves provided by these software, given the same modelling, have been compared to those provided by a theoretical fiber model. A parametric analysis has been led on rectangular column sections with different level of axial load and different stirrups spacing. The accuracy of the modelling of the considered structural programs has been investigated by comparing their results with those obtained by applying the theoretical fiber model.
