정전위법에 의한 해상풍력 타워 구조물용 강재의 음극방식을 위한 최적방식전위 결정 (Determination of optimum protection potential for cathodic protection of offshore wind-turbine-tower steel substructure by using potentiostatic method)

  • 본 연구에서는 해상풍력 타워 지지구조물용 강재인 S355ML 강에 대하여 전기화학적 기법으로 전기방식 설계에 필요한 최적 방식전위를 규명하고자 하였다. 동전위분극 실험 결과, 양극분극 곡선 상에서는 부동태 구간은 존재하지 않으며, 음극분극 곡선 상에는 용존산소환원반응에 의한 농도분극 구간과 수소가스 발생에 의한 활성화분극 구간이 관찰되었다. 음극방식 시 방식전위에 해당하는 농도분극 구간은 약 - 0.72 V ~ - 1.0 V의 전위 구간인 것으로 확인되었다. 다양한 전위에서 정전위 실험을 실시한 결과 전류밀도 변화는 시간에 따라 안정화되는 경향을 나타냈다. 1200초 동안 정전위 실험 후 주사전자현미경과 3D 분석 현미경을 이용한 시험편 표면 분석 결과, 양극분극 전위에 해당하는 0 V ~ - 0.50 V의 전위구간에서는 양극용해반응에 의한 부식손상이 관찰되었다. 이에 반해 음극분극 전위 영역에서는 대체적으로 손상이 없는 양호한 표면을 유지하였으며 석회질 피막 형성을 확인할 수 있었다. 연구결과, 농도분극 영역에 해당하는 - 0.8 V ~ - 1.0 V의 전위영역이 S355ML 강의 외부전원법에 의한 음극방식 적용 시 최적 방식 전위 구간으로 사료된다.

Investigation of Sweet and Sour Corrosion of Mild Steel in Oilfield Environment by Polarization, Impedance, XRD and SEM Studies

  • Metallic structures in the oil and gas production undergo severe degradation due to sweet and sour corrosion caused by the presence of $CO_2$ and $H_2S$ in the fluid environment. The corrosion behavior of 304 austenitic stainless was investigated in the presence of varying concentrations of $CO_2$ or $H_2S$ and $CO_2+H_2S$ to understand the effect of the parameters either individually or in combination. Potentiodynamic polarization study revealed that a small amount of $CO_2$ aided in the formation of calcareous deposit of protective layer on passive film of 304 steel, while increase in $CO_2$ concentration ruptured the layer resulting in sweet corrosion. The presence of $S^{2-}$ damaged the passive and protective layer of the steel and higher levels increased the degradation rate. Electrochemical impedance studies revealed lower polarization resistance and impedance at higher concentration of $CO_2$ or $H_2S$, supporting the outcomes of polarization study. XRD analysis revealed different types of iron carbides and iron sulphides corresponding to sweet and sour corrosion as the corrosion products, respectively. SEM analysis revealed the presence of uniform, localized and sulphide cracking in sour corrosion and general corrosion with protective carbide layer amid for sweet corrosion.

  • The cause of Scond Harmonic Generation (SHG) in thermally poled silica glass is suggested basedon the electrical and dielectric relaxation measurements. The absorption currents as functions of time were measured for various types of silica glasses and analyzed by the theory of Space Charge Polarization. Space charge polarization occurs when an ionic conducting material is subjected to dc electric field with blocking electrode. Thermal poling performed to induce SHG in silica glass is basically identical to the process generating space charge polarization. Hence it was found that gene-ration removal reproduction and temperature dependence of SHG in poled silica is directly related to those of space charge polarization. It turned out that the fundamental parameters governing the SHG in poled silica are charge carrier concentration and mobility. Based on the theory of space charge polarization and experimental results of electrical rela-xation the method to increase the intensity of SHG is proposed.

  • This paper was studied on the characteristics of crevice corrosion prevention of SS 400 in marine environment. In NaCl solution, polarization behavior under the crevice corrosion was investigated. And Weight loss rate of SS 400 applied cathodic protection and non cathodic protection was measured according to the NaCl concentration. The main results obtained are as follows : The weight loss rate of Al-alloy galvanic anode was increased as the concentration of NaCl solution increased by 3.5% but the concentration increased over 3.5%, that of Al-alloy galvanic anode become decreased. The protective potential of SS 400 used Al-alloy galvanic anode becomes more cathodic polarization with increasing concentration of NaCl solution. Effects of oxygen on the weight loss rate of Al-alloy sacrificial anode for cathodic protection as the concentration of 3.5% NaCl solution become sensitive than that of 0% NaCl solution.

폴리비닐알코올 편광필름 제조에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Preparation of Poly(vinyl alcohol) Polarizing Film)

  • Both poly(vinyl alcohol)$(PVA)-I_2$ and PVA-dye polarizing film were prepared using PVA with number-average degree of polymerization of 1,700, 2,300, 2,600. The optical property of used dye in this study closed to the that of iodine. The PVA-dye polarizing film was prepared through the dyeing process. In comparison of the result of the measurement of the heat and humidity resistance of two types polarizing films, it of PVA-dye polarizing film was higher than that of a conventional $PVA-I_2$polarizing film. The transmittance and the polarization efficiency of PVA-dye polarizing film was significantly influenced by dye concentration, dipping time, salt concentration, and temperature of dye bath. The PVA-dye polarizing film exhibited a high polarization efficiency of 99.3% and a good transmittance of 42.4%.

Zn-Co 합금도금의 조성에 미치는 전해조건의 영향 (Effect of Electrolytic Condition on Composition of Zn-Co Alloy Plating)

  • 자동차 부품에 Zn의 전기도금이 적용되고 있다. Zn 도금은 내식성을 증가시키기 위해 두께를 증가시키고 있다. 도금층의 두께가 증가함에 따라 전기도금 층이 파괴되는 문제가 제기되고 있다. Zn계 합금의 전기도금은 내부식성 향상 및 도금 두께 감소를 위해 연구되어 있다. 여러 합금 도금 중에 Zn-Co 합금 도금은 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 온도, 전류 밀도 및 전해용액 속 Co 함량과 같은 다양한 제조 조건에서 Zn-Co 전착의 조성을 조사하여 시료의 Co 함량에 대한 전기도금 조건의 영향을 파악하였다. 그 결과는 음극 과전압 및 확산 계수에 의해 설명하였다. 전류 밀도가 증가하고, 전해액 온도가 감소하고, 전해액 농도가 감소함에 따라 음극의 과전압이 증가한다. 음극의 과전압이 증가함에 따라 활성화분극보다 농도분극이 중요하게 된다. 농도분극은 확산 층 내에서 물질 전달은 확산에 의해 결정된다. 일정한 농도분극에서는 확산계수가 큰 원소가 다량 확산하게 된다. 즉 음극의 과전압이 증가함에 따라 확산계수가 큰 Zn 함량이 증가한다.

트리에탄올아민을 錯化劑로 사용한 無電解니켈鍍金浴의 析出速度에 관한 硏究 (Depositing Rate of Electroless Nickel Plating Bath Contained Triethanolamine as a Complexing Agent)

  • In the electroless nickel plating bath which contained nickel sulfate, sodium hypophosphite, boric acid and triethanolamine, effect of their concentration on the rate of deposition was tested by gravimetric method and polarization method. The polarization method that polarize small range of voltage anodicaly and cathodicaly at the mixed potential in the electroless plating bath can calculate mixed current (depositing rate) from $i_{mp}=\frac {i}{\eta}\;\frac{RT}{nF}\;or\;i_{mp}=\frac{i}{\eta}\;\frac{1}{2.3}(\frac{b_a\;\;b_c}{b_c+b_a})$ Where $i_{mp}$ is the depositing current, i is the polarized current, ${\eta}$ is the polarized voltage, $b_a\;and\;b_c$ are the Tafel slop of anodic and cathodic polarization curves respectively. The calculated mixed current ($i_{mp}$) is proportional to the depositing rate obtained by gravimetric method and corresponded mostly to the real depositing rate by multifying supplementary constant. The polarization method can be used for founding inclination of reaction on various concentration of each composition. Decreasing or increasing concentration of triethanolaminc as a complexing agent , the depositing rate is decreased and when the bath contained 25-50mL/L of triethanoloamine, the depositing rate is increased. The depositing rate is increased with increasing the concentration of boric acid, and when the bath contained 0.5M of boric acid, the depositing rate is increased abruptly. The optimum composition of the electroless nickel bath was estimated 0.1M of nickel sulfate, 0.25M of sodium hypophosphite, 0.5M of boric acid, and 25-50mL/L of triethanalamine.

  • 실리콘고무 (polydimethylsiloxane, PDMS)막에 의한 trichloroethylene (TCE)과 chlorobenzene (CB)수용액의 투과증발실험을 수행하고 농도분극이 분리특성에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 경계층저항은 직렬저항모델을 사용하여 설명하였으며, 수용액으로부터 미량의 유기염화물을 제거하는 투과증발에서는 농도분극현상이 투과거동에 중요한 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 같은 막두께에서, 막에 대한 친화력이나 선택투과성이 더 큰 TCE가 CB수용액보다 경계층저항의 영향이 더 크게 나타났다. 막두께가 증가할수록 경계층저항의 영향은 감소하고 막저항이 지배적이 되며, 겉보기분리계수는 증가하여 막의 고유분리계수에 가까워졌다.

  • CMP(chemical mechanical polishing) process has been attracted as an essential technology of multi-level interconnection. Also CMP process got into key process for global planarization in the chip manufacturing process. In this study, potentiodynamic polarization was carried out to investigate the influences of $H_2O_2$ concentration and metal oxide formation through the passivation on tungsten and titanium. Fortunately, the electrochemical behaviors of tungsten and titanium are similar, an one may expect. As an experimental result, electrochemical corrosion of the $5\;vol\%\;H_2O_2$ concentration of tungsten and titanium films was higher than the other concentrations. According to the analysis, the oxidation state and microstructure of surface layer were strongly influenced by different oxidizer concentration. Moreover, the oxidation kinetics and resulting chemical state of oxide layer played critical roles in determining the overall CMP performance. Therefore, we conclude that the CMP characteristics tungsten and titanium metal layer including surface roughness were strongly dependent on the amounts of hydrogen peroxide oxidizer.
