Adversarial Machine Learning: A Survey on the Influence Axis

  • After the everyday use of systems and applications of artificial intelligence in our world. Consequently, machine learning technologies have become characterized by exceptional capabilities and unique and distinguished performance in many areas. However, these applications and systems are vulnerable to adversaries who can be a reason to confer the wrong classification by introducing distorted samples. Precisely, it has been perceived that adversarial examples designed throughout the training and test phases can include industrious Ruin the performance of the machine learning. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the recent research on adversarial machine learning. It's also worth noting that the paper only examines recent techniques that were released between 2018 and 2021. The diverse systems models have been investigated and discussed regarding the type of attacks, and some possible security suggestions for these attacks to highlight the risks of adversarial machine learning.

CORBA 기반 멀티미디어 응용을 위한 공동작업 서비스 설계 (Design of Collaboration Service for CORBA Based Multimedia Applications)

  • Information superhighway and improvement of computing power result in increase of the requirements for distributed multimedia applications. But, developer of applications needs much time and efforts because of the difficulties of development, enhancement and maintenance of distributed applications. To solve this problem, CORBA is used widely. But, the definitions of CORBA services are required for the brief developments of distributed multimedia applications. Especially, collaboration service is required because multiple users use distributed multimedia service. Collaboration service manages user and group information of applications and makes the interoperability between of multi users. In this paper, we designed collaboration service for CORBA based distributed multimedia applications. Collaboration service is able to maintain group information and to present the ability for collaborative works between of multi users. Application developers can develop the applications easily because the ability of collaborative works is offered by collaboration service.

GIS 응용을 위한 바다-III의 다단계 사전인출과 지연쓰기의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of the Multi-level Pre-fetch and Deferred-flush in BADA-III for GIS Applications)

  • 대부분의 GIS 응용 프로그램은 다수의 공간객체에 대하여 주로 읽기 연산을 수행하며 접근하는 공간객체가 복합 객체인 경우 그 복합객체와 그 복합객체가 포함하는 공간객체에 모두 접근하게 된다. GIS 응용 프로그램에서 공간객체의 생성, 삭제, 변경연산은 매우 드물게 일어나지만 다수의 공간객체에 대하여 수행된다. 본 논문은 GIS 응용 프로그램의 이러한 특성을 고려하여 다수의 공간객체들을 신속히 탐색하기 위한 다단계 사전인출 질의의 개념을 제시하고 생성하는 영속객체들을 최적의 성능으로 데이타베이스에 반영하기 위한 지연쓰기 기능을 객체지향 데이타베이스 시스템인 바다-III에 설계하고 구현한 내용을 제시한다. 다단계 사전인출 질의는 그 질의를 만족하는 객체들뿐만 아니라 그 객체들이 포함하는 객체들을 사용자가 명시한 단계만큼 데이타베이스로부터 인출하여 클라이언트 캐쉬에 등록하는 기능이다. 지연쓰기 기능은 응용 프로그램이 생성한 객체들에 대하여 서버의 부담을 최소화하고 클라이언트와 서버간의 통신을 최소화하면서 데이타베이스에 반영하는 기법이다. 이들 두 기능은 GIS 응용과 같이 다수의 복합객체를 탐색하고 생성하는 응용에 적합하다.

스마트폰의 구성 변수에 따른 전력 효율성 분석 (Analysis on the Power Efficiency of Smartphone According to Parameters)

  • 스마트폰의 등장과 함께 사용자들은 다양한 애플리케이션을 통해 보다 효율적으로 모바일폰을 구성할 수 있게 되었다. 하지만, 스마트폰의 발전에도 불구하고 스마트폰의 배터리는 휴대성을 제한하고 있다. 스마트폰의 전력 효율성은 컴퓨터 시스템 연구 분야에서 아주 중요한 이슈이다. 본 논문에서는 스마트폰의 전력 효율성을 알아보기 위해 여러 구성 변수를 선택하여 실험을 수행하였다. 구성 변수로는 프로세서, 디스플레이, 운영체제를 고려하였고 각 구성 변수에 따라 여러 개의 애플리케이션을 활용하여 실험하였다. 실험 결과, 프로세서의 복잡도에 따라서도 전력 소비량이 증가하였고, 디스플레이크기 증가에 따라 전력소비량 또한 증가하였다. 하지만, 운영체제에서는 다른 전력 소비 패턴을 보였다. Android 운영체제의 경우 인터넷과 영상처리 애플리케이션에서 높은 전력 소비량을 보이며 음악 감상, 카메라 애플리케이션에서 낮은 전력 소비량을 보였다. iOS의 경우에는 게임과 인터넷 애플리케이션에서 높은 전력 소비량을 보이며 카메라와 영상처리에서 낮은 전력 소비량을 보였다. 전체적으로 Android 운영체제보다 iOS 운영체제에서 전력 효율성이 높음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 iOS는 하드웨어와 운영체제를 병행하여 개발하기 때문에 Android보다 최적화가 잘 이뤄진 것으로 판단된다. 또한, Android는 하드웨어에 최적화된 운영체제 수정이 필요함을 실험을 통해 알 수 있었다.

LDBAS: Location-aware Data Block Allocation Strategy for HDFS-based Applications in the Cloud

  • Big data processing applications have been migrated into cloud gradually, due to the advantages of cloud computing. Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) is one of the fundamental support systems for big data processing on MapReduce-like frameworks, such as Hadoop and Spark. Since HDFS is not aware of the co-location of virtual machines in the cloud, the default scheme of block allocation in HDFS does not fit well in the cloud environments behaving in two aspects: data reliability loss and performance degradation. In this paper, we present a novel location-aware data block allocation strategy (LDBAS). LDBAS jointly optimizes data reliability and performance for upper-layer applications by allocating data blocks according to the locations and different processing capacities of virtual nodes in the cloud. We apply LDBAS to two stages of data allocation of HDFS in the cloud (the initial data allocation and data recovery), and design the corresponding algorithms. Finally, we implement LDBAS into an actual Hadoop cluster and evaluate the performance with the benchmark suite BigDataBench. The experimental results show that LDBAS can guarantee the designed data reliability while reducing the job execution time of the I/O-intensive applications in Hadoop by 8.9% on average and up to 11.2% compared with the original Hadoop in the cloud.

Mobility-Aware Ad Hoc Routing Protocols for Networking Mobile Robot Teams

  • Mobile multi-robot teams are useful in many critical applications such as search and rescue. Explicit communication among robots in such mobile multi-robot teams is useful for the coordination of such teams as well as exchanging data. Since many applications for mobile robots involve scenarios in which communication infrastructure may be damaged or unavailable, mobile robot teams frequently need to communicate with each other via ad hoc networking. In such scenarios, low-overhead and energy-efficient routing protocols for delivering messages among robots are a key requirement. Two important primitives for communication are essential for enabling a wide variety of mobile robot applications. First, unicast communication (between two robots) needs to be provided to enable coordination and data exchange. Second, in many applications, group communication is required for flexible control, organization, and management of the mobile robots. Multicast provides a bandwidth-efficient communication method between a source and a group of robots. In this paper, we first propose and evaluate two unicast routing protocols tailored for use in ad hoc networks formed by mobile multi-robot teams: Mobile robot distance vector (MRDV) and mobile robot source routing (MRSR). Both protocols exploit the unique mobility characteristics of mobile robot networks to perform efficient routing. Our simulation study show that both MRDV and MRSR incur lower overhead while operating in mobile robot networks when compared to traditional mobile ad hoc network routing protocols such as DSR and AODV. We then propose and evaluate an efficient multicast protocol mobile robot mesh multicast (MRMM) for deployment in mobile robot networks. MRMM exploits the fact that mobile robots know what velocity they are instructed to move at and for what distance in building a long lifetime sparse mesh for group communication that is more efficient. Our results show that MRMM provides an efficient group communication mechanism that can potentially be used in many mobile robot application scenarios.
