  • In this paper, we study the calculation for the fracture area of the composite material specimens using digital image processing techniques. This study was able to calculate the area of the fracture region through the main operation step 7 on the basis of improved image. To extract the area in the original image, we have to use opening operation, close operation, the Hit-or-Miss operation and Bottom hat filter, Top hat filter, etc. In particular, to extract the area of the composite specimen discussed in this study, we have to use the combination of the operations and filters because it is non-isotropic material, or should develop a new algorithm based on it.

  • This paper proposes a composite filter for noise reduction of image. To improve the image quality by reducing the noise in the liver ultrasound image, we tried to help the accurate image analysis. In the experiment, the top seven composite filters were selected by combining the Gaussian blur filter, the sharpening filter, and the median filter using the ATS-539 ultrasonic phantom, and applied to the ultrasound image in which this was done. As a result, it was found that the values of SNR, CNR and MSR all increased when the top seven composite filters were applied. In addition, PSNR of more than 30 dB, close to SSIM 1 showed that the image loss rate is small. Therefore, the appropriate application of the proposed composite filter in this research will be useful for accurate video reading and analysis.

  • Purpose: Raynaud scan is divided to flow, blood pool and local-delay image. Usually, we evaluate comparison through blood pool and local-delay image. We will evaluate about usability when comparative observe blood image and local-delay image in Raynaud scan that used $^{201}Tl$ as making flow image to one sheet of images. Materials and Methods: We have selected 29 Raynaud phenomenon patients aged 14~68 years who visited department of vascular surgery between Feb. 2008 and Aug. 2009. An intravenous injection $^{201}Tl$ of 111 MBq (3 mCi) to opposite side diagonal line limbs above an internal auditing department. Equipment used Philips gamma camera forte A-Z, and collimator used LEHR. Matrix size set up to each $64{\times}64$, $128{\times}128$, $256{\times}256$ and zoom factor used to full field. Protocol of dynamic is 2 second to 155 frames. Blood pool and delay count to 300 second. We set up ROI by a foundation to data acquired in PEGASYS processing program. Each results were analyzed with the SPSS 12.0 statistical software. Results: Each averages of count ratio (Rt / Lt) to have been given at composite image, a blood pool image, delay images analyzed at Raynaud phenomenon patients is $1.25{\pm}0.39$, $1.20{\pm}0.33$, $1.11{\pm}0.17$. The sample analysis results of blood pool image and delay image contented itself with p<0.029. Also, there don't have been each difference, and blood pool image, delay image regarding composite image was able to know. Conclusion: We were able to give help for comparison to evaluate a blood pool image and a local delay image at the Raynaud scan which used $^{201}Tl$ while making a flow image to one sheet image. Identification to be visual too was possible. If you are proceeded a researcher that there was further depth, you are more appropriate for, and you may get useful information.

  • In this study, we want to composite the source image and the target image when the environment includes water surface in the target image such as lake, sea, etc. The water surface is different from other common environment. On the water surface, the object must be reflected or refract and sometimes is deformed by the wave of water. In order to composite the object in the source image onto the water image, we analyze the water surface of the target image and let the object be synthesized realistically based on the wave of water. Our composite process consists of three steps. First. we use Shape-from-Shading technique to extract the normal vector of the water surface in the target image. Next, the source image is deformed according to the normal vector map. Finally, we composite the deformed object onto the target image.

  • In this paper, we design and implement E-COIRS enabling users to query with concepts and image features used for further refining the concepts. For example, E-COIRS supports the query "retrieve images containing black home appliance to north of reception set. "The query includes two types of concepts: IS-A and composite. "home appliance"is an IS-A concept, and "reception set" is a composite concept. For evaluating such a query. E-COIRS includes three important components: a visual image indexer, thesauri and a query processor. Each pair of objects in an mage captured by the visual image indexer is converted into a triple. The triple consists of the two object identifiers (oids) and their spatial relationship. All the features of an object is referenced by its old. A composite concept is detected by the triple thesaurus and IS-A concept is recolonized by the fuzzy term thesaurus. The query processor obtains an image set by matching each triple in a user with an inverted file and CS-Tree. To support efficient storage use and fast retrieval on high-dimensional feature vectors, E-COIRS uses Cell-based Signature tree(CS-Tree). E-COIRS is a more advanced content-based image retrieval system than other systems which support only concepts or image features.

  • This paper discusses the use of the Digital Image Correlation (DIC) technique for the displacement and strain measurements of a wet lay-up composite wing. As opposed to classical strain gages, DIC allows to conduct full field strain analysis of simple to complex structural parts. In this work, wing-up bending tests and measurements of the composite wing of the Dardo Aspect by CFM Air are carried out through an ad-hoc test rig and the Q-400 DIC system by Dantec Dynamics. Also, the results are used to validate a finite element model of the structure under investigation.

  • The study considers the meaning of the composite images created when users capture present images over past images tagged location data in using the mobile augmented reality technology. The composite image through the location-based augmented reality technology is the result of matching the same location data between present images users are capturing and past images captured already. It is the new composite images that contain two different narratives-current and past in the same space and in real-time. We developed the mobile application implemented augmented reality technology and analysed the process that users create multi-layered narrative in the middle of capturing present image through augmented reality module. In addition, through the comparison with similar studies and applications of the augmented reality, we found that the key to give the multi-narrative in the composite images is the user's participation to put its personal intentions in real-time capturing process. In further development, we'll be able to utilize the application in order that users easily create multi-layered narrative composite image using cultural and personal records.

  • The fiber oriented condition inside fiber reinforced composite material is a basic factor of mechanical properties of composite materials. It is very important to meausure the fiber orientation angle for the determination of molding conditions, mechanical characteristics, and the design of composite materials. In the work, the fiber orientation distribution of simulation figure plotted by PC is measured using image processing in order to examine the accuracy of intersection counting method. The fiber orientation function measured by intersection counting method using image processing is compared with the calculated fiber orientation function. The results show that the measured value of fiber orientation function using intersection counting method is lower than the calculated value, because the number of intersection between the scanning line and the fiber with smaller fiber aspect ratio is counted less than with larger fiber aspect ratio.

  • As one of the pivotal techniques of image restoration, single-channel blind source separation (SCBSS) is capable of converting a visual-only image into multi-source images. However, image degradation often results from multiple mixing methods. Therefore, this paper introduces an innovative SCBSS algorithm to effectively separate source images from a composite image in various mixed modes. The cornerstone of this approach is a novel triple generative adversarial network (TriGAN), designed based on dual learning principles. The TriGAN redefines the discriminator's function to optimize the separation process. Extensive experiments have demonstrated the algorithm's capability to distinctly separate source images from a composite image in diverse mixed modes and to facilitate effective image restoration. The effectiveness of the proposed method is quantitatively supported by achieving an average peak signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 30 dB, and the average structural similarity index surpassing 0.95 across multiple datasets.
