ECC 날개벽 요소로 보강된 비내진상세를 갖는 철근콘크리트 골조의 내진성능 (The Seismic Performance of Non-Ductile Reinforced Concrete (RC) Frames with Engineered Cementitious Composite (ECC) Wing Panel Elements)

  • 본 논문에서는 고인성 시멘트 복합체(ECC)가 적용된 날개벽 요소의 면 접합방식에 따른 평가를 실시하였다. 또한 비내진상세를 갖는 RC 골조에 ECC날개벽 요소 보강하여 보강 유무에 따른 내진성능평가를 실시하였다. 면 접합 방법에 따른 거동 특성을 비교하기 위하여 2면 접합은 상 하부 보에 3면 접합은 상 하부 보 및 기둥에 접합하여 실험을 실시 하였다. 또한 비내진상세를 갖는 기존 구조체와의 일체로 거동하는 합성거동을 위해 3면 접합 방식으로 ECC날개벽 요소 보강을 실시하였다. ECC날개벽 요소 실험과 골조 실험은 점증되는 층간변위에 따라 2회씩 반복가력하여 실험을 진행하였다. 실험 결과 ECC 날개벽 요소 실험체의 경우 3면 접합이 2면 접합보다 우수한 내진성능 나타내었다. 각각의 실험체는 우수한 재료 특성으로 인하여 미세한 다수의 균열이 ECC날개벽 요소 전면에 폭넓게 분포하였다. 또한 보통 콘크리트와 달리 최대강도 이후 연성적인 거동을 나타내었으며, 이에 우수한 에너지소산능력을 나타내었다. ECC날개벽 요소를 보강한 실험체와 기존 골조에서는 ECC날개벽 요소 보강에 따른 최대강도 이후 연성적인 거동을 나타내었다. 이에 따라 에너지소산능력이 증가하였으며, 강성저하 또한 완만한 곡선을 나타내며 기존 골조보다 우수한 내진특성을 나타내었다. 이에 ECC 날개벽 요소의 보강이 비내진상세를 갖는 구조체에 우수한 내진 특성을 부여하는 판단된다.

복합재 틸팅열차 차체 구조물의 응력 및 모드 해석 (Structural and Modal Analysis of the Composite Carbody of Tilting Train)

  • The weight reduction of carbody structures is of great concern in developing high speed tilting train for the normal operation of tilting system. The use of composite materials for the carbody structures has many advantages due to their excellent material properties. In this paper, finite element analysis was conducted to analysis and design the composite structure of Tilting Train eXpress(TTX). According to JIS E 7105, static load tests were performed and the structural safety of the composite carbody structure was verified by conducting finite element analysis of the model to which reinforcing frame are added in the composite carbody structure. In addition, modal analysis was conducted to estimate the natural frequency of a train.

  • The weight reduction of carbody stl1lctures is of great concern in developing high speed tilting train for the normal operation of tilting system. The use of composite materials for the carbody structures has many advantages due to their excellent material propel1ies. In this paper, finite element analysis was conducted to verify the safety of the composite structures of Tilting Train eXpress(TTX). A train prototype with carbon/epoxy composite carbody was manufactured to perform static loading tests according to JIS E 7105. The loading tests were simulated by FE analysis to compare with the test results. To obtain more accurate and detailed result of stress distribution in local region of carbody, the submodeling approach was used. The submodeling analysis results showed the high levels of stress concentration occured on window frame part of TTX as the loading test results did.

  • Green Frame is a column-beam structure built by steel frame joints embedded in the columns and beams. Here, the steel frame embedded in the columns and beams is not a standardized product, instead it needs to be order-produced. The quantity for each steel frame size should be calculated to estimate the quantity of steel frames to be manufactured. However, it is highly time-consuming and requires a lot of effort in calculating the quantity of steel frames, for there are a wide range of steel frame types that are embedded in the columns and beams. To solve this problem, the study proposes an algorithm for calculation of the amount of steel frames with ease and promptness. When a program is developed using the algorithm proposed in the study in connection to the information on precast concrete members prepared in the design phase, it is anticipated that the manpower required as well as the manufacturing time will be decreased.

A simplified seismic design method for low-rise dual frame-steel plate shear wall structures

  • In this paper, a simplified seismic design method for low-rise dual frame-steel plate shear wall (SPSW) structures is proposed in the framework of performance-based seismic design. The dynamic response of a low-rise structure is mainly dominated by the first-mode and the structural system can be simplified to an equivalent single degree-of-freedom (SDOF) oscillator. The dual frame-SPSW structure was decomposed into a frame system and a SPSW system and they were simplified to an equivalent F-SDOF (SDOF for frame) oscillator and an equivalent S-SDOF (SDOF for SPSW) oscillator, respectively. The analytical models of F-SDOF and S-SDOF oscillators were constructed based on the OpenSees platform. The equivalent SDOF oscillator (D-SDOF, dual SDOF) for the frame-SPSW system was developed by combining the F-SDOF and S-SDOF oscillators in parallel. By employing the lateral force resistance coefficients and seismic demands of D-SDOF oscillator, the design approach of SPSW systems was developed. A 7-story frame-SPSW system was adopted to verify the feasibility and demonstrate the design process of the simplified method. The results also show the seismic demands derived by the equivalent dual SDOF oscillator have a good consistence with that by the frame-SPSW structure.

Experimental studies on steel frame structures of traditional-style buildings

  • This paper experimentally investigated the behavior of steel frame structures of traditional-style buildings subjected to combined constant axial load and reversed lateral cyclic loading conditions. The low cyclic reversed loading test was carried out on a 1/2 model of a traditional-style steel frame. The failure process and failure mode of the structure were observed. The mechanical behaviors of the steel frame, including hysteretic behaviors, order of plastic hinges, load-displacement curve, characteristic loads and corresponding displacements, ductility, energy dissipation capacity, and stiffness degradation were analyzed. Test results showed that the Dou-Gong component (a special construct in traditional-style buildings) in steel frame structures acted as the first seismic line under the action of horizontal loads, the plastic hinges at the beam end developed sufficiently and satisfied the Chinese Seismic Design Principle of "strong columns-weak beams, strong joints-weak members". The pinching phenomenon of hysteretic loops occurred and it changed into Z-shape, indicating shear-slip property. The stiffness degradation of the structure was significant at the early stage of the loading. When failure, the ultimate elastic-plastic interlayer displacement angle was 1/20, which indicated high collapse resistance capacity of the steel frame. Furthermore, the finite element analysis was conducted to simulate the behavior of traditional-style frame structure. Test results agreed well with the results of the finite element analysis.

35 kWh급 초전도 플라이휠 에너지 저장 시스템 프레임 설계 및 제작 (Design and Construction of 35 kWh Class Superconductor Flywheel Energy Storage System Main Frame)

  • A superconductor flywheel energy storage system (SFES) is an electro-mechanical battery which transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy for storage, and vice versa. The 35 kWh class SFES is composed of a main frame, superconductor bearings, electro-magnetic dampers, a motor/generator, and a composite flywheel. The energy storing capacity of the SFES can be limited by the operational speed range of the system. The operational speed range is limited by many factors, especially the resonant frequency of the main frame and flywheel. In this study, a steel frame has been designed and constructed for a 35 kWh class SFES. All the main parts, their housings, and the flywheel are aligned and assembled on to the main frame. While in operation, the flywheel excites the main frame, as well as all the parts assembled to it, causing the system to vibrate at the rotating speed. If the main frame is excited at its resonant frequency, the system will resonate, which may lead to unstable levitation at the superconductor bearings and electro-magnetic dampers. The main frame for the 35 kWh class SFES has been designed and constructed to improve stiffness for the stable operation of the system within the operational speed range.

합성반강접 CFT기둥-보 접합부 구조의 경제성 평가 (The Structural Economical Efficiency Evaluation of Partially Restrained Composite CFT Column-to-Beam Connection)

  • 연구대상은 콘크리트 충전강관 (Concrete Filled steel tube)기둥과 보의 접합부를 합성반강접으로 적용한 구조물의 설계 적용에 관한 것이다. 합성반강접으로 기둥접합부의 강성을 조절함으로서 구조적 안전성을 확보하고 경제적인 부재를 적용하고자 하였다. 저층건물을 모멘트골조로 구조물의 안정성을 검토한 결과 합성작용으로 인하여 합성반강접을 이용하면 횡강성이 증대하여 저층건물의 경우 특별한 횡 보강재 없이 저항할 수 있음을 확인 하였다. 고층건물의 경우 모멘트골조가 횡저항 분담이 10%정도 되었으며 반강접 비율은 60%정도가 적절하였다. 경제적인 면에서 보 부재는 등분포하중이 작용하는 경우는 반강접 효과가 크나 집중하중이 작용하는 보는 반강접 효과가 크지 않았으며 등분포의 경우 60% 반강접이 단부 모멘트 저감에 따른 경제성이 가장 좋은 것으로 분석되었다. 단부 모멘트는 약 25% 감소되는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다.

합성반강접 접합부를 갖는 2차원 8층 비가새 철골골조의 동적거동 (Dynamic Behavior of 2D 8-Story Unbraced Steel Frame with Partially Restrained Composite Connection)

  • 구조물의 지진응답은 구조물의 강성도에 영향을 미치는 접합부의 특성에 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 합성반강접 접합부를 갖는 2차원 8층 비가새 철골구조물에 대하여 동적 비선형 해석 프로그램을 이용한 푸쉬오버 해석과 시간이력해석을 실시하여 구조물의 거동을 예측하였다. 접합부 비선형 모멘트-회전 특성, 합성보 및 철골기둥의 재료 비선형 특성을 고려하여 구조해석을 실시하였다. 합성반강접 접합부를 완전 강접합부로 이상화하면 푸쉬오버 해석에서 구조물의 초기강성도와 종국강도가 증가되었고 시간이력해석에서는 밑면전단력, 최대층간변위, 보 및 기둥에 발생되는 최대 휨모멘트가 접합부 강성 및 이력거동의 영향을 받았다. 최대지반가속도가 0.4g인 지진파에 대하여 합성반강접 구조물에서는 FEMA 273의 최대 층간변위에 대한 인명손상방지 기준을 만족하였으며 보와 기둥이 비탄성 거동을 경험하지 않은 반면 완전 강접합부로 이상화한 구조물에서는 보 및 기둥이 비탄성 거동을 경험하였다.

WUF-B 접합부 및 합성슬래브로 설계된 철골모멘트골조의 에너지 기반 근사해석을 이용한 연쇄붕괴 저항성능 평가 (Evaluation of Progressive Collapse Resistance of Steel Moment Frame with WUF-B Connection and Composite Slab using Equivalent Energy-based Static Analysis)

  • The progressive collapse resistance performance of a steel structure constructed using the moment frame with the WUF-B connection and the composite slabs was evaluated. GSA 2003 was adapted for the evaluation. Additionally the structural robustness and the sensitivity against the progressive collapse were analyzed. In the numerical analysis, a reduced model comprised of the beam and spring elements for WUF-B connection was adapted. The composite slab was modeled using the composite-shell element. Instead of the time-consuming dynamic analysis for the effect of the sudden column removal, the equivalent energy-based static analysis was effectively applied. The analysis results showed that the structure was the most vulnerable to in the case of the internal column removal, however it satisfied the chord rotation criterion of GSA 2003 due to the contribution of the composite slab which improved the stiffness of structure. In the robustness evaluation, the structural performance showed more than 2.5 times of the requirement according to GSA 2003, and the structural sensitivity analysis indicated the decrease of 33% of the initial structural performance.
