  • This study is a first step toward reducing surge pressure, and it has another purpose, which is to developing an analysis model which can closely analyze a hydraulic circuit and be used in design. For development of analysis model, SimulationX, a commercial program, is used. The study progress methods are as follows. By analyzing the structure and operating mechanisms of each part of the hydraulic system of the pump truck and referring its parameters, develop a single component model. Assemble the developed single component model, and make an overall analysis the model. By comparing the similarities between the developed model and the actual system's test results, validate the reliability of the analysis model.

  • Vaccine is a protective clinical measure capable of persuading immune system against infectious agents. Vaccine can be categorized as live attenuated and inactivated. Live attenuated vaccines activate immunity similar to natural infection by replicating living organisms whereas inactivated vaccines are either whole cell vaccines, eliciting immune response by killed organisms,or subunit vaccines, stimulating immunity by non-replicating sub cellular parts. The components of vaccine play a critical role in deciding the immune response mediated by the vaccine. The innate immune responds against the antigen component. Adjuvants represent an importantcomponent of vaccine for enhancing the immunogenicity of the antigens. Subunit vaccines with isolated fractions of killed and recombinant antigens are mostly co-administered with adjuvants. The delivery system of the vaccine is another essential component to ensurethat vaccine is delivered to the right target with right dosage form. Furthermore, vaccine delivery system ensures that the desired immune response is achieved by manipulating the optimal interaction of vaccine and adjuvantwith the immune cell. The aforementioned components along with routes of administration of vaccine are the key elements of a successful vaccination procedure. Vaccines can be administered either orally or by parenteral routes. Many groups had made remarkable efforts for the development of new vaccine and delivery system. The emergence of new vaccine delivery system may lead to pursue the immunization goals with better clinical practices.

Strategic Considerations for Development of the ICT Industry in Korea: Exploratory Research Using Input-Output Analysis

  • This study compares the economic impacts among ICT sectors and derives strategic considerations for development of the ICT industry in Korea. Prior to analysis, this study classified ICT industry into four sectors: ICT equipment, components, service, and SW/system. This study conducted Input-Output Analysis on the four ICT sectors. An Input-Output Analysis is a quantitative economic technique that represents the direct and indirect interdependencies between different industries of a national economy. Features of each ICT sector were observed in the results. Within the ICT equipment sector, production is decreasing, import dependence is increasing, and employment size is very low, relative to the overall ICT industry. The component sector accounts for the over half of the output and value added of the ICT industry, but domestic production has recently declined. The subsector experienced decreasing production and increasing imports relative to the other ICT subsectors. In the service sector, output is small but its production and employment impact is very high. The fourth sector, ICT SW/system, has very low impact on production but high impact on employment. These features suggest two strategies to develop the ICT industry in Korea. First, the ICT component and service sectors should be promoted to stimulate growth of the national economy. Second, to encourage employment growth, policies should promote the ICT SW/system and service sectors.

Development of a New Non-invasive Fetal Hypoxia Diagnosis System (새로운 비관혈적 태아 저산소증 진단 방법개발에 관한 연구)

  • Diagnostics of unborn baby is mainly aimed at prediction and detection of occurrence of intrauterine hypoxia. Consequences resulting from fetal hypoxia appear in its heart activity. In this study, we have developed a new non-invasive system for fetal hypoxia diagnosis which provides systolic time interval(STI) parameters on the basis of analysis of electrical and mechanical heart activity together. For this we have worked on 1) the proper lead system for the acquisition of abdominal ECG, 2) the independent component analysis based signal processing and fetal ECG separation, 3) the development of a hardware which consists of an abdominal ECG amplifying module and an ultrasound module and 4) the detection of characteristic points of FECG and Doppler signal and the extraction of diagnostic parameters. The developed system was evaluated by the clinical experiments in which 33 subjects were participated. The acquired STI by the system were distributed within the ranges from the well-established invasive results of other researchers. From this, we can conclude that the developed non-invasive fetal hypoxia diagnosis system is useful.

  • Modern enterprise may be in need of developing the right application programs under rapidly changing business environment in fast time-to-market. But Most of enterprise without business process mechanism are very hard to develop the application needed in time when it will be changing their business. To solve this problem, we propose the business process framework based on the closed architecture. This approach is to develop the right application with reusing software modules in time and easily under rapid business process changing/improving through mapping BPM(Business Process Model), SOA(Service Oriented Architecture), and CBD(Component Based Development). we also define 5-Layers of BPF(Business Process Framework), and BNF(Backus Naur Form) for structuring BPF.

  • ISFRA (Integrated SFR Analysis Program for PSA) computer program has been developed for simulating the response of the PGSFR pool design with metal fuel during a severe accident. This paper describes validation of the ISFRA aerosol model against the Aerosol Behavior Code Validation and Evaluation (ABCOVE) experiments undertaken in 1980s for radionuclide transport within a SFR containment. ABCOVE AB5, AB6, and AB7 tests are simulated using the ISFRA aerosol model and the results are compared against the measured data as well as with the simulation results of the MELCOR severe accident code. It is revealed that the ISFRA prediction of single-component aerosols inside a vessel (AB5) is in good agreement with the experimental data as well as with the results of the aerosol model in MELCOR. Moreover, the ISFRA aerosol model can predict the "washout" phenomenon due to the interaction between two aerosol species (AB6) and two-component aerosols without strong mutual interference (AB7). Based on the theory review of the aerosol correlation technique, it is concluded that the ISFRA aerosol model can provide fast, stable calculations with reasonable accuracy for most of the cases unless the aerosol size distribution is strongly deformed from log-normal distribution.

A Realization of Real Time Algorithm for Fault and Health Diagnosis of Turbofan Engine Components (터보팬엔진의 실시간 구성품 결함 및 건전성 진단 알고리즘 구현)

  • An algorithm is realized for estimating the component fault and health diagnosis such as a deterioration. Based on the turbofan engine health diagnosis model, from the health parameters which are estimated by a real time tracking filter, the outliers are eliminated efficiently by an effective median filter to minimize an false alarm. The difference between the fault and deterioration trends is identified by the detection measure for abrupt change, thereby the clear diagnosis classifying the fault and the health condition is possible. The effectiveness of the algorithm for fault and health diagnosis is verified from the simulated results of engine component faults and deterioration.

  • This paper presents the development procedure and application of the generic component reliability data base considering the dependency among dependent generic compendia in NPPs (Nuclear Power Plants) PSA (Probabilistic Safety Assessment) under construction or without operating history. We use MPRDP (Multi-Purpose Reliability Data Processor) code developed in KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute) based on a PEB (Parametric Empirical Bayesian) procedure to estimate the reliability. The employed model in this study accounts for the relative credibility as well as the dependency among generic estimates. Numerical examples and the part of summarized reliability data table are provided as the application.

  • Today, Numbers of "0" and "1" which are represented as a digital code have a role of communicating with various media, result in the development of IT technology. With the changes of the times, new media is created and various contents and media are formed. There is convergence between exiting contents and media at the same time and also is in the rapid progress of unification and collapse between the boundary of the data. Under these digital circumstance, the amount of many data which are created and disappeared is rapidly changed as much as the remarkable growth of the digital technology. The purpose of this thesis is to make a classified method of a effective data component related to data management, data recycling and data copyright in 3D animation.

  • Recently, many researchers in the world are concentrated to develop the robot platform which is to reduce the developing cost by reusing existing softwares. In this paper, we describe that the 3 dimension recognition object components for OPRoS (Open Platform for Robotic Services) which is developed in Korea. We present that the structure of the component, disparity map and depth map algorithm for recognizing 3 dimension space. We used stereo matching and block matching method to produce the disparity map. We test the component on the computer with OPRoS platform and show the results of accuracy and performance time.
