한국형 미래전투체계 효과도 분석을 위한 회전익 무장체계 시뮬레이션 (A Simulation on the Weapon System of Rotorcraft for Improving the Effects of Korean Future Combat System(FCS))

  • This research is to develop a simulation framework to gauge the mission effectiveness of the rotorcraft system that will be a part of Korean future combat system. The rotorcraft system comprises of many subsystems that are very time-consuming and tedious to model. Each subsystem and its characteristics have been modeled using component-based modeling techniques, which enhances its reusability. The entire system is then constructed from the individually modeled component, which significantly reduces the modelling time. The mission effectiveness of the rotorcraft system is simulated using the developed models, and the output indicates that the methodology proposed in this study is useful, which will be suitable for the modeling and simulation of Korean future combat system.

  • Robot software components can be categorized into two types; the pure S/W component and the H/W-related one. Since interface testing of the robot software component is the labour-intensive and complicated work, an effective automated testing tool is necessary. Especially it is difficult to test all types of H/W-related components because it is hard work to prepare all H/W modules related to them. This paper proposes a new simulation-based interface testing automation tool(SITAT) which generates automatically test cases for interface testing of the robot software component and executes the interface test with the generated test cases where the simulator is used for simulation of the activity of a H/W module instead of the real H/W module. This paper verifies the effectiveness of the suggested SITAT with testing of the real H/W-related robot software component.

복합체계 개념에 기반한 국방체계 모델링 시뮬레이션 방법론 (Modeling and Simulation Methodology for Defense Systems Based on Concept of System of Systems)

  • A complex system such as defense systems is in a form of System of Systems (SoS) in which each component is a system being independent of other component systems. Dynamical behavior of SoS is represented by a composition of behaviors of component systems. Thus, a M&S tool/environment would not be efficient for development of heterogeneous models nor for simulation in a centralized environment. Moreover, such an environment restricts reusability and composability. This paper presents an interoperation method for M&S of defense systems as SoS. The approach first develops component system models using tools, each specialized to M&S of each component system. It then interoperates such simulations together to simulate a whole system as SoS. HLA/RTI is employed for such interoperation, which is a DoD/IEEE standard to support interoperation. We will introduce a case study for interoperable simulation of defense systems, which consists of a wargame simulator and a communication simulator.

  • 국방 M&S 분야에서 모의 기반 획득 방법이 필수적인 정책으로 인식되면서 획득 단계별 M&S 적용을 위한 협업이 필요해지고 M&S 컴포넌트를 쉽게 개발하고 공유하기 위한 공통 기반환경의 구축이 필요하게 되었다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 모델 개발 재사용성 향상을 위한 형식론 기반의 시뮬레이션 프레임워크와 신속 개발을 위한 GUI 기반 모델링 환경을 제안한다. 제안하는 프레임워크는 플러그인 기반으로 동작하며 XML 기반 객체 모델을 바탕으로 하고 있기 때문에 모델의 개발과 변경에 대해 유연한 설계를 할 수 있으며 외부체계 연동, 모델 데이터 로깅과 같은 시뮬레이션 지원 기능을 구현하는데 효과적이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 프레임워크 및 모델링 개발 도구의 구조와 기능 요소들에 대해 설명한다.

  • 시뮬레이션은 어떤 문제를 모의적으로 실험하여 그 특성을 파악하는 작업이다. 시뮬레이션 과정에서는 시뮬레이션 모델, 알고리즘, 입출력 데이터의 교체 및 변경이 빈번하게 발생한다. 특히 알고리즘의 교체를 통한 시뮬레이션 작업의 경우 알고리즘을 구현한 컴포넌트가 교체될 때 기능적으로 정확하게 동작하지 않는다면 시뮬레이션 작업을 성공적으로 수행하기 어렵다. 이 논문에서는 소프트웨어 기반 위성항법 시뮬레이션 환경에서 교체될 컴포넌트가 기능적으로 정확하게 구현되어 있는지를 검증하기 위한 테스트 프레임워크를 제안한다. 이 프레임워크는 컴포넌트가 교체되는 시점에서 교체되는 컴포넌트의 상황에 맞게 기능 테스트를 수행할 수 있게 해준다.

Simulation of a CIM Workflow System Using Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM)

  • Workflow is an ordered sequence of interdependent component data activities each of which can be executed on an integrated information system by accessing a remote information system. In our previous research [4], we proposed a distributed CIM Workflow system which consists of a workflow execution model called DAF-Net and an agent-based information systems called AIMIS. Given a component data activity, there needs an interaction protocol among agents which allocates the component data activity to a relevant information systems exist. The objective of this research is to propose and test two protocols: ARR(Asynchronous Request and Response)protocol and NCL(Negotiation with Case based Learning) protocol. To test the effectiveness of the protocols, we applied the PVM(Parallel Virtual Machine) software to simulate the distributed CIM Workflow system. PVM provides a distributed computing environment in which users can run different software processes in different computers while allowing communication among the processes.

A collaborative simulation in shipbuilding and the offshore installation based on the integration of the dynamic analysis, virtual reality, and control devices

  • It is difficult to observe the potential risks of lifting or turn-over operations in the early stages before a real operation. Therefore, many dynamic simulations have been designed to predict the risks and to reduce the possibility of accidents. These simulations, however, have usually been performed for predetermined and fixed scenarios, so they do not reflect the real-time control of an operator that is one of the most important influential factors in an operation; additionally, lifting or turn-over operations should be a collaboration involving more than two operators. Therefore, this study presents an integrated method for a collaborative simulation that allows multiple workers to operate together in the virtual world. The proposed method is composed of four components. The first component is a dynamic analysis that is based on multibody-system dynamics. The second component is VR (virtual reality) for the generation of realistic views for the operators. The third component comprises the control devices and the scenario generator to handle the crane in the virtual environment. Lastly, the fourth component is the HLA (high-level architecture)-based integrated simulation interface for the convenient and efficient exchange of the data through the middleware. To show the applicability of the proposed method, it has been applied to a block turn-over simulation for which one floating crane and two crawler cranes were used, and an offshore module installation for which a DCR (dual-crane rig) was used. In conclusion, the execution of the proposed method of this study is successful regarding the above two applications for which multiple workers were involved.

  • Farmer 모델에 의하여 정의된 망관리 시스템 에이전트의 구성모델을 인터페이스 명세모델로의 매핑에 대하여 서술하였다. 인터페이스 명세모델은 컴포넌트 기반 개발 (Component Based Development)에서 구현과 설계를 구분하기위하여 제시하는 모델로서 본 논문에서는 TMN 에이전트 설계의 예로서 설명하였다. 특히 Farmer 모델에서의 측면의 개념을 반영하기 위하여 측면 인터페이스(Aspect Interface)의 개념을 도입하였다.

  • A new mathematical simulation technique for physico-mechanical properties of multi-component powder materials is proposed in this paper. The main advantage of the technique is that finite elements representing different components are placed into a common mesh and may exchange their properties. The output data are properties of material after sintering. The technique allows us to investigate the influence of each component of a material on the properties and distribution of properties inside the sample. The comparative analysis of materials with different compositions is based on simulation results that are well concordant with the results of the laboratory experiments.
