A written association test has been conducted to establish the concept, the meaning and the process of hope. The test consists of the major question : List of three words related to “hope”. The question was given to 55 nurses(rehabilitation /cancer /internal medicine care wards units) and 61 patients. A total of 289 words have been collected, and the collection was analyzed with categorization by the value or meaning of listed words. The analysis yields three major categories, namely, componants of hope, metaphores /symbols, and synonyms. The three major categories may be further partitioned into subcategories. The results are significant to define the nature of the hope and process of the hope. These understanding will facilitate the development of effective methods of nursing or chronic or cancer patients disabled.

This study was designed to test the relationship between effectiveness of nursing organizations and structural and managerial variables of nursing organizations that are described in the Robbins Organizational theory model. The data were collected through self reported questionnaires from 605 nurses working in, and 782 patients hospitalized in, five tertiary hospitals in Seoul. Results showed that according to MANOVA there was a significant difference in nurses job satisfaction and patient satisfaction among the five hospitals. According to cluster analysis of the structural and managerial variables of nursing organizations, the five hospitals were divided into two clusters and there was no significant difference in nurses job satisfaction or patient satisfaction between the two clusters. According to canonical correlation analysis the formalization and centralization of structural variables were shown to be predicting variables for nurses job satisfaction, and the managing job design and managing Change of managerial variables were shown to be predicting variables for nurses job satisfaction.

As tools for machining precesion componants, end mills and ball end mill are widely used. For the end mill have longer cylindrical shape comparing diameter, they are liable to deflect when machining and induce geometrical error and deterioration of surface roughness. To improve the stiffness and the sharpness of the cutting edge of end mill, a software for manufaturing end mills are developed. The progeam predicts the result of helical flute grinding and the configuration of cutting edge which is located in cylindrical surface. Furthermore to facilitate the manufacturing end mill using CNC grinding machine, the setting conditions which satisfy the geometrical requirments like tool rake angle and stiffness are obtained.

As a part of search for new biologically active constituents from aloe, we have isolated a glycopeptide, called G1G1M1DI2, from the gel(G1) of Aloe vera. Chemical and spectroscopic evidence indicated that G1G1M1DI2 is a glycopeptide. The molecular weight of G1G1M1DI2 was about 5,500 daltons, and the carbohydrate and protein contents were 20.9% and 32.6%, respectively. Periodate oxidation and enzymic degradation gave peptide moiety and carbohydrate moiety, respectively. Carbohydrate moiety is composed of fucose, galactose, glucose and mannose in a molar ratio of 0.5:2.4;48.8:48.3. Peptide moiety is composed of fifteen amino acids, and glutamic acid and glycine were the major componants. The glycopeptide, G1G1M1DI2, stimulated thymidine uptake of SCC 13 cells about 6.5 times the control. This result suggests that this glycopeptide has a skin cell proliferating activity.

자체 제작된 승화법에 의한 결정성장 장치를 이용하여, 6H-SiC 단결정을 성장하였다. Acheson 법으로 얻어진 6H 결정을 seed substrate로 사용하였으며, SiC source 로부터 분해된 승화 증기가 seed상에서 육성되도록 흑연 도가니내의 온도구배 및 성장온도와 압력을 유기적으로 조절하였다. 성장 전 graphite 도가니 구성부와 SiC 원료에 대한 purification을 행함으로써 성장결정 내부로의 불순물 혼입이 억제되도록 하엿다. 결정 성장시의 육성조건으로 도가니 바닥의 온도는 $2300~2400^{\circ}C$였으며, 성장로 내부의 분위기 압력은 200~400 torr에서 양질의 단결정을 얻을 수 있었다. 성장된 결정을 두께 1.5 mm의 wafer로 제작하여 XRD와 optical microscope로 관찰하였고, FT-IR spectrum으로 분석하였다.
