휴대용 단말기를 위한 블레이드 하이브리드 안테나 (Vlade Hybrid Antenna for the Mobile Phone Handset Terminal)

  • 최근 휴대단말기는 다양한 기능이 첨가되고 슬림화와 소형화 추세에 따라 내장형 안테나의 수납공간이 더욱 협소해지고 있다. 또 안테나가 복잡한 부품으로 둘러싸인 단말기 내부의 좁은 공간에 수납됨으로서 대역폭 확보가 어렵고 임피던스가 낮아지게 된다. 게다가 주변의 부품들에 의한 편파 손실이 추가됨으로써 낮은 효율로 인해 원하는 안테나 이득을 발생시키는데 어려움이 따른다. IFA는 모노폴 안테나를 변형시킨 ILA(Inverted L Antenna)를 기본으로 하는 낮은 프로파일(low profile) 구조의 안테나로, 휴대폰 내장형 안테나에 적합한 여러 장점을 가지고 있으나 모노폴 안테나에 비해 이득이 떨어지고 대역폭이 좁은 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 커플링 급전 구조를 사용한 블레이드 하이브리드 안테나를 제안한다.

SBF Conceptual Representation을 활용한 초등학교 6학년 학생들의 자연현상 개념 분석 (An Analysis of the Conceptions about the Nature Phenomenon Using SBF Conceptual Representation in the 6th Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to analysis the 6th students' conceptions of the nature phenomenon focused on the systematic characteristics. For this study, 12 students of the 6th grades participated in special class for testing their conceptions about the water cycle in the earth system. And we analyzed the outcomes of students' conceptions based on SBF conceptual representation. The results indicate that most of the subjects perceived that the water cycle in earth system wasn't complex system maintaining its existence and functions as a whole through the interaction of its parts but simple system maintaining some actions between atmosphere and hydrosphere, geosphere, biosphere(biological world). And they didn't perceive the characteristics of the water cycle whose all parts must be presented the change of volume between vapor and water, glacier proposing the total hydro-volume are established in the earth system. Based on the results, it was suggested that the main goals of the schools' science education should be to provide students who understand the water cycle system as attaching importance to form with the skills needed to coherent understanding of the essential qualities for the nature phenomenon system.

마이크로 패턴 성형을 위한 인서트 코어 적용 µ-PIM 표준금형 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of µ-PIM standard mold with exchangable insert core in order to manufacture micro pattern)

  • Increased demand for parts with micro-pattern structure made of metals, ceramics, and composites in various fields such as medical ultrasonic sensors, CT collimators, and ultra-small actuator parts. Micro powder injection molding (PIM) is a technology for manufacturing micro size, high volume, complex, precision, net-shape components from either metal or ceramic powder. In the present study, a standard mold with a variable insert core capable of producing various micro patterns was investigated. An injection molding test was performed on a standard mold using a line type micro-pattern core having an aspect ratio of 2, a slenderness ratio of 70, a pattern size of $200{\mu}m$, and a pattern spacing of $150{\mu}m$. During the filling process, the deformation of the mold with large aspect ratio and slenderness ratio was analyzed by the experiment and the numerical simulation according to the position of the gate. We proposed a mold structure that minimizes mold deformation by gate modification and enables uniform pattern filling behavior.

Al-Si계 소실모형주조합금의 미세조직 및 인장성질에 미치는 주형재료의 영향 (Effect of Mold Materials on the Microstructure and Tensile Properties of Al-Si based Lost Foam Casting Alloy)

  • The effects of mold materials on the microstructure and tensile properties were investigated to develop a mass production technique of aluminum alloy parts with excellent mechanical properties using a lost foam casting method. The microstructures of the plate-shaped cast alloy showed a tendency to be finer in proportion to the thickness of the plate, and a remarkably fine structure was obtained by applying a steel chill or a ball as a mold material compared to general sand. When a steel ball was used, it was observed that the larger the ball, the finer the cast structure and the better the tensile properties. The microstructure and tensile properties of the cast parts with complex shapes were greatly affected by the gating system, but the positive effects of the steel chill and the steel ball as a mold material were clear.

Nelumbo nucifera Leaf Extract Regulates Lipid Metabolism and Differentiation in 3T3-L1 Adipocytes and db/db Mice

  • Obesity is a complex metabolic disorder that increases the risk for type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and atherosclerosis. In this study, we evaluated the anti-obesity effects of Nelumbo nucifera leaf (NL) extract in 3T3-L1 adipocytes and obese db/db mice. NL extract among various parts (leaf, seed, and root) of N. nucifera most effectively reduced adipogenesis via inhibiting CCAAT enhancer binding protein α (C/EBPα) and peroxisome proliferator activated receptor γ (PPARγ) expression in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. The addition of NL extract enhanced the protein expression of uncoupling protein 2 (UCP2) as compared to untreated 3T3-L1 adipocytes. The oral administration of NL extract (100 mg/kg BW) significantly reduced food efficacy ratio, body weight, and face or total cholesterol level in obese db /db mice. Also, administration of NL extract significantly decreased adipocyte size and C/EBPα or PPARγ expression in the adipose tissues as compared with control (obese db/db mice). Therefore, our results suggest that NL extract among various parts of N. nucifera could be used as a functional food ingredient for the prevention and treatment of metabolic diseases including obesity and diabetes.

Status of Pathology Services and Molecular Pathology in Sub-Saharan Africa: Implications for Combating Breast Cancer

  • African breast cancer patients benefit less from classical pathology services owing to the complex molecular and clinicopathological nature of the disease, poor quality of laboratory supplies, and shortage of experts in the field. This review presents evidence and confirms the need for improving anatomic pathology services in Africa. Peer-reviewed international journal articles available in Medline, Scopus, PubMed, and Google scholars, describing the status of pathology services in Africa, were included. Besides the late presentation of patients, anatomic pathology laboratories are accountable for the escalated mortality of breast cancer patients in several parts of Africa. Conversely, molecular diversity and biological heterogeneity of breast cancers, which disprove the one-size-fits-all therapeutic approach, have been reported from different parts of the continent. Irrespective of the geographical background, the choice of therapeutic options and predicting disease outcome depends on the right identification of the molecular signature of the cancer type. In conclusion, we propose that upgrading and integrating anatomic pathology with molecular diagnostic pathology is essential in order to provide better diagnostic results that will profoundly impact curbing mortality from breast cancers.

주행차량에 따른 개단면 강바닥판 교량의 국부거동 특성 (Characteristic of Local Behavior in Orthotropic Steel Deck Bridge with Open Ribs according to Running Vehicle)

  • 강바닥판 교량은 비교적 얇은 강판이 사용되며, 가로 세로리브 및 가로보 등의 구조부재가 용접에 의해 복잡한 형상으로 조립되므로 용접에 의한 변형과 결함이 발생할 가능성이 매우 높고, 용접연결부에서의 응력 상태가 매우 복잡하다. 또한 실제 강바닥판 교량에서의 피로균열은 주부재보다 2차부재와의 용접연결부에서 발생되고 있다. 그러나 강바닥판교량 설계시에는 대부분 주부재에 대한 응력 평가가 이루어지고 있으며, 피로균열이 발생하는 구조상세에 대한 상세 응력 평가 및 특성 분석은 거의 검토되고 있지 있다. 본 연구에서는 공용년수 29년된 개단면 세로리브를 가진 강바닥판을 대상으로 피로균열의 원인을 조사하고, 재하시험 및 실교통류 흐름하에서의 현장계측을 통하여 대상 교량의 피로안전성을 검토하였다. 또한 피로균열이 발생된 세로리브 및 다이아프램의 용접부를 대상으로 격자해석 및 상세해석 모델을 사용하여, 이들 구조상세에 대한 영향면해석을 이용하여 이동하중에 따른 거동 특성을 조사하고, 대상교량의 피로균열 발생 원인을 규명하였다.

SLM 기술을 이용한 Ti-6Al-4V 합금의 고속 적층 공정 최적화 연구 (Optimization for high speed manufacturing of Ti-6Al-4V alloy by a selective laser melting technique)

  • Selective laser melting(SLM)은 적층 제조 방법 중 하나로서, 분말을 선택적으로 용융하여 기능적이고, 복잡한 형상을 즉각적으로 제작 가능하다는 장점이 있다. Ti-6Al-4V 합금의 경우 높은 융점과 산화문제로 인하여 SLM 공정도입에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 연구에서는 SLM 장비를 사용하여 Ti-6Al-4V 파트를 성공적으로 적층하였으며 스캔속도, 레이저 파워의 변수를 조절하여 적층 가능 조건을 도출하였다. 또한 적층 된 Ti-6Al-4V 파트의 형상 정밀도, 면밀도 및 기계적특성 평가를 통하여 일반적으로 사용되는 공정조건(스캔 속도 200~700 mm/s)으로 제작된 제작품 물성치와 비교를 통해 Ti-6Al-4V 합금의 고속 적층 영역에서의 최적 공정을 확립하였다.

CAE 를 통한 하이브리드 용접 후 차체부품 변형예측 및 검증 (Prediction and Verification of the Twist Deformation of Automotive Structure Parts after Hybrid Welding Using CAE)

  • In recent years, laser-arc hybrid welding has begun to be adopted for assembly welding of automotive bodies and parts, because the hybrid welding process can weld lapped steel sheets having a larger gap than is possible with laser welding. In this paper, to predict the twist deformation by the hybrid welding when brackets are welded in B pillar of a passenger car, the residual stress using CAE is analyzed and the deformation result of CAE is compared with the measured deformation. First of all, after modeling heat source as intended to be expressed with laser-arc hybrid welding method, heat source fitting is done with welding conditions and a section of welding part obtained through specimen test. In case of heat source functions, laser used conical source and arc used double ellipsoid source. Through the local model analysis, elements which are located in the center of the model are selected. The elements are called WME(Welding Macro Element). This WME is extruded in the welding lines and welding phenomenon of complex parts is accomplished. The deformation amount after hybrid welding is got through a simulation, the validity of simulation is verified by measuring the panel and comparing with the simulation result.

압출적층조형 공정 기반 3D 프린팅 제품 기계적 특성의 지배적 공정인자 도출 및 최적화에 관한 연구 (Identification and Optimization of Dominant Process Parameters Affecting Mechanical Properties of FDM 3D Printed Parts)

  • 최근 다양한 분야에 적용되고 있는 적층 가공 기술(AM)은 복잡한 형상 제조 및 재료 비용 절감으로 인해 혁신적인 제품 생산 방법으로 각광을 받고 있다. 그 중에서도 압출적층조형(Fused Deposition Modeling, FDM) 공정을 통한 친환경 부품 제조는 의료 분야산업에서 많은 주목을 받고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 친환경 생분해성 재료인 Poly Lactic Acid(PLA)를 사용한 FDM 공정 실험을 수행하고 제작된 적층 시편에 대한 인장 시험을 적용하여 주요 FDM 공정 변수인 적층 두께, 적층 방향, 적층 충진량이 인장 시편의 기계적 성질에 미치는 영향을 정량적 및 정성적으로 분석하고 이를 극대화하는 각 공정 변수의 최적값을 도출하였다.
