The hazard ratio may be useful as a descriptive measure to compare the hazard experience of a treatment group with that of a control group. In this paper, we propose a kernel estimator of hazard ratio with censored survival data. The uniform consistency and asymptotic normality of the proposed estimator are proved by using counting process approach. In order to assess the performance of the proposed estimator, we compare the kernel estimator with Cox estimator and the generalized rank estimators of hazard ratio in terms of MSE by Monte Carlo simulation.

This paper is intended to research the speed response of switched reluctance motor (SRM) using sliding mode control method when load is changing. The simulation compare only control by PI controller with control by PI controller and sliding mode controller. It compare with speed response using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

The purpose of this study is to develop a computer software titled "Compare & Evaluation Program for Household Consumption". This software is developed in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0. For the data of this program, the family Income and Expenditure Survey(1998) produced by the National Statistical Office in Korea is used. This program compares income and consumption expenditure for each household with those for standard household according to income level and family life cycle. This program gives information and suggestion for household consumers to manage rational household consumption. Also this study investigates validity and usefulness of the software program by interviewing 20 households used this program.

We derive some approximate maximum likelihood estimators(AMLEs) and maximum likelihood estimator(MLE) of the scale parameter in the half-triangle distribution based on progressively Type-II censored samples. We compare the proposed estimators in the sense of the mean squared error for various censored samples. We also obtain the approximate maximum likelihood estimators of the reliability function using the proposed estimators. We compare the proposed estimators in the sense of the mean squared error.

In this paper to compare the economical efficiency of light sources for a tunnel lighting, we define a model tunnel and design tunnel lighting. And to examine economical efficiency of various tunnel lightings we compare the lighting expenses of tunnels. The results shows high pressure sodium lamps are more economical than fluorescent lamps.

This paper presents the results of experiments which compare the software complexity between programming languages, i.e, FORTRAN IV and FORTRAN 77, PASCAL and C language, respectively. Each experiment is performed to compare the complexity between programs of same problems using Halstead's method based on operator, and McCabe's based on data flow. As the results of 25 test programs experiments, FORTRAN 77 languages shows superiority to FORTRAN IV languages, and C than that of PASCAL languages, in the aspect of the global software complexity.

In this study, we compare the capabilities of the data mining tools of the most updated version objectively and provide the useful information in which enterprises and universities chose them. In particular, we compare the SAS/Enterprise Miner 3.0, SPSS/Clementine 5.2 and IBM/Intelligent Miner 6.1 which are well known and easily gotten.

We propose several estimators of the reliability function R of the two-parameter exponential distribution, and then compare those estimator in terms of the mean square error (MSE) through Monte Carlo method. We also consider the parametric bootstrap estimation. Using the parametric bootstrap estimator, we obtain the bootstrap confidence intervals for reliability function and compare the proposed bootstrap confidence intervals in terms of the length and the coverage probability through Monte Carlo method.

We shall propose several estimators and confidence intervals for the scale parameter in a uniform distribution with the presence of a generalized uniform outlier and obtain mean squared errors(MSE) for their proposed estimators. And we shall compare numerical MSE's for the proposed several estimators of the scale parameter. Also we shall compare numerically expected lengths of confidence intervals of the scale parameter in a uniform distribution with the presence of a generalized uniform outlier.
