  • This paper studies whether export diversification mitigated the negative effect of the global financial crisis on exports using the Korean case. Specifically, we use annual data on the exports of 24 Korean manufacturing industries from 2000 to 2016 and examine whether the negative effect of the crisis on exports was less prevalent in industries that were more diversified in terms of country and product. We also examine whether export competitiveness, as measured by the revealed comparative advantage index by industry, had a mitigating effect on trade during the crisis. In order to study these issues, we use panel regression with a fixed-effect model for 24 Korean manufacturing industries. From our empirical analysis, we find that country diversification weakened the negative impact of the global financial crisis on Korea's exports, whereas neither product diversification nor export competitiveness did so.

  • Chinese literature once had its splendid era in the Tang and Song Dynasties culminating in Tang poetry and influencing the literatures of its neighboring countries. However, during the past centuries, it has largely been "marginalized" on the map of world literature. On the one hand, large numbers of foreign literary works, especially those from Western countries, have been translated into Chinese, exerting a huge influence on the formation of a sort of modern Chinese literary tradition. On the other hand, few contemporary Chinese literary works have been translated into the major foreign languages. With the help of the rise and flourishing of comparative literature, contemporary Chinese literature has been moving toward the world and had its own Nobel laureate. The author, after analyzing the reasons why Chinese literature has been "marginalized," argues that Chinese literature will develop steadily in the age of globalization. Globalization in China has undergone three steps: first, it has made China passively involved in this irresistible trend; second, the country has then quickly adapted itself to this trend; and third, China has started to play an increasingly leading role in the first decade of the present century. In this way, contemporary Chinese literature and comparative literature studies will steadily develop with the help of the "Belt and Road" initiative.

However, this study approaches to house arrangement through understanding the base of each culture and people.

It means the quality of housing life of the aged has been raised and changed quickly as well as the O.D.L and I.D.L systems since the last year. These preliminary studies suggest that the aged people in the country suffer from insufficient O.D.L and I.D.L systems caused by nation-wide economic poverty compared with the aged people in Seoul. The information from the country has been restricted for several decades therefore some details of the results of the studies are at times difficult to believe and differ depending on the research methods. The purpose of this study is to clarify the quality housing life of the aged, based on the comparative analysis between the O.D.L and I.D.L systems. The quality of housing life of the aged in countryside has been revealed by the clarification of the conditions housing supply, facilities, and therefore housing the cost amount. The conclusions are as follows ; The quickly changing architectural O.D.L elements are presented below in 17 items, while the I.D.L elements are presented in 18 items.

  • This paper examines language policies of Ghana and Tanzania (former British Colonies) since independence. The view that language use in education is a problem for African countries is evident in the ever changing language in education policies in many African countries. Because of the inevitable multilingual situation in many African countries, there are unavoidable challenges in their quest to adopt a language policy that works for the entire country since it is not practical to adopt all the languages spoken in the country as Media of Instruction. Ghana is not immune to this challenge and has fallen victim to this tendency to change the language in education policy from time to time in an attempt to adopt a satisfactory policy which would yield the intended results. Tanzania, however, is one of the few African countries that have found a sustainable language in education policy since independence. Nonetheless, it has its fair share of challenges as a consequence of the perceived competition between Kiswahili and English as official languages. The paper discusses the challenges that both Ghana and Tanzania face against the background of colonization. The paper also offers a discussion on possible future perspectives for the two countries.

  • Most companies are achieving economic benefits by producing products in the form of bi-national products, but there are also negative consequences such as reduced brand power, so strategic bi-national product planning and branding is essential. In order to actively reflect these practical needs, this study conducted a comprehensive and easy-to-generalize evaluation of Bi-national products that has been somewhat underdeveloped in previous studies. To this end, the selection and evaluation criteria of the products to be investigated were differentiated. This is to classify the products by place of use and the purpose of use so that the majority of bi-national products can be included, and then use the combination to derive the specific products to be evaluated for bi-national products. The evaluation of the product identified the phenomenon of psychological conflict among consumers due to the country of origin discrepancy at the level of decreasing brand authenticity. The above research design is an evaluation method that can encompass bi-national products as a whole, rather than an evaluation of a specific product or product line that is mainly reported in previous studies, and it is also very easy to apply to practice because it allows us to more carefully identify changes in psychological attitudes.
