A Compact and Efficient Polygonal Mesh Representation (간결하고 효율적인 폴리곤 메쉬의 표현 구조)

  • Highly detailed geometric models are rapidly becoming commonplace in computer graphics and other applications. These complex models, which is often represented as complex1 triangle meshes, mainly suffer from the vast memory requirement for real-time manipulation of arbitrary geometric shapes without loss of data. Various techniques have been devised to challenge these problems in views of geometric processing, not a representation scheme. This paper proposes the new mesh structure for the compact representation and the efficient handling of the highly complex models. To verify the compactness and the efficiency, the memory requirement of our representation is first investigated and compared with other existing representations. And then we analyze the time complexity of our data structure by the most critical operation, that is, the enumeration of the so-called one-ring neighborhood of a vertex. Finally, we evaluate some elementary modeling functions such as mesh smoothing, simplification, and subdivision, which is to demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of our mesh structure in the context of the geometric modeling and processing.

  • A new impedance transforming balun scheme is presented based on the branch-line structure with stubs on the vertical branches. The stubbed vertical branch eliminates the unwanted even mode output and provides only the balanced output of the balun with opposite phase. Also, the use of stubs reduces the branch lengths by two times the stub length, which is useful for the compact balun design.

  • We have developed a compact high frequency switch mode converter (HFSMC) power supply with DC 50 kV output voltage and 10 kW output power. Since the inverter circuit uses 25 kHz rescharging scheme, the current is flowing with t kHz. For the efficient output voltage transform performed a simple design process using the transformer principle and the commercial specification. For the DC 50 kV output, we employed 7 pa windings of secondary coils for the series stac connection of the output with full-bridge rectifi In this paper the design detail and the test re the high frequency transformer together with HFSMC power supply are presented.

File Format Design for Interactive Music Service

  • This letter describes a file format designed for interactive music service where users are able to recompose music based on their own preferences. The proposed design utilizes the flexible features of the ISO base media file format (ISO/IEC 14496-12, ISO-BMFF). The techniques offered in the proposed file format enable compact storage and efficient preset management, allowing users to recompose music with ease and convenience. Additionally, an implementation scheme for an interactive music player is shown along with its results.

  • In this paper we propose high quality audio coding algorithm using psychoacoustic modelling and the adaptive wavelet Packet decomposition. The bit allocation scheme exploits the remnants of temporal correlations that exist in the wavelet packet coefficients by SPIHT. The proposed algorithm achieve almost transparent coding of monophonic compact disk(CD) quality signals at about 44 kbps.

  • We propose an improved stereovision scheme using a composite lens array and single camera. The use of a composite lens array makes it possible to construct a compact stereovision system and to improve the quality of the results by adopting image processing method. The principle of the proposed system is explained and the simulation and the experimental results are also presented.

Formulation of Joint Iterative Decoding for Raptor Codes

  • Raptor codes are a class of rateless codes originally designed for binary erasure channels. This paper presents a compact set of mathematical expressions for iterative soft decoding of raptor codes. In addition, an early termination scheme is employed, and it is embedded in a single algorithm with the formula. In the proposed algorithm, the performance is enhanced by adopting iterative decoding, both in each inner and outer code and in the concatenated code itself between the inner and outer codes. At the same time, the complexity is reduced by applying an efficient early termination scheme. Simulation results show that our proposed method can achieve better performance with reduced decoding complexity compared to the conventional schemes.

  • A new method for option pricing based on the trinomial tree method is introduced. The new method calculates the local average of option prices around a node at each time, instead of computing prices at each node of the trinomial tree. Local averaging has a smoothing effect to reduce oscillations of the tree method and to speed up the convergence. The option price and the hedging parameters are then obtained by the compact scheme and the Richardson extrapolation. Computational results for the valuation of European and American vanilla and barrier options show superiority of the proposed scheme to several existing tree methods.

  • In this paper, a novel new pulse power generator based on IGBT stacks is proposed for pulse power application. Proposed scheme consists of series connected 9 power stages to generate maximum 60kV output pulse and one series resonant power inverter to charge DC capacitor voltage. Each power stages are configured as 8 series connected power cells and each power cell generates up to 850VDC pulse. Finally pulse output voltage is applied using total 72 series connected IGBTs. The synchronization of gating signal is important for series operation of IGBTs. For gating signal synchronization, full bridge inverter and pulse transformer generates on-off signals of IGBT gating and specially designed gate power circuit was used. Proposed scheme has lots of advantages such as long lifecyle, compact size, flat topped pulse forming, small weight, protection for arc, high efficiency and flexibility to generate various kinds of pulse output.
