  • In this paper, smoothing plane connector have been proposed as the vehicle connector for the wireless access in vehicular environments (5.925GHz) communication. This smoothing plane connector is designed by considering the properties of critical parameter like smoothing distance of start to end point of contact area. The design simulation and results can be used to determine the most suitable smoothing plane wire dimensions for vehicle communication connector. The optimized WAVE connector inserted the smoothing plane wire has insertion loss less than-0.17dB at 5.925GHz. It provides 20% of insertion loss with good performance. Therefore, the simulated results can be effectively used for optimum design of high frequency connector for vehicle communication.

  • Assuming omnidirectional antenna reception, the ITU-R recently developed a new propagation model on building entry loss (BEL) for 5G millimeter-wave frequency sharing and compatibility studies, which is a simplified outdoor-to-indoor path loss model. Considering the utilization of high-gain narrow-beamwidth beamforming, the omnidirectional-based ITU-R BEL model may not be appropriate to predict propagation characteristics for directional beamforming scenarios. This paper studies the effects of beamwidth on the ITU-R BEL model. This study is based on field measurements collected with four different beamwidth antennas: omnidirectional, 10° horn, 30° horn, and 60° horn. The measurement campaigns were conducted at two types of building sites: traditional and thermally efficient buildings. These sites, as well as the measurement scenarios, were carefully chosen to comply with the ITU-R BEL measurement guidelines and the ITU-R building types. We observed the importance of accurate beam alignment from the BEL variation range. We were able to quantify the beamwidth dependency by fitting to a model that is inversely proportional to the beamwidth.

  • Current major photovoltaic (PV) market share (> 60%) is being occupied by the multicrystalline (mc)-silicon solar cells despite of low efficiency compared to single crystalline silicon solar cells. The diamond wire sawing technology reduces the production cost of crystalline silicon solar cells, it increases the optical loss for the existing mc-silicon solar cells and hence its efficiency is low in the current mass production line. To overcome the optical loss in the mc-crystalline silicon, caused by the diamond wire sawing, next generation texturing process is being investigated by various research groups for the PV industry. In this review, the limitation of surface structure and optical loss due to the reflectivity of conventional mc-silicon solar cells are explained by the typical texturing mechanism. Various texturing technologies that could minimize the optical loss of mc-silicon solar cells are explained. Finally, next generation texturing technology to survive in the fierce cost competition of photovoltaic market is discussed.

  • In this paper, we analyzed Alamouti based the MIMO-OFDM system in an underwater vertical communication channels. These in consideration both the transmission loss the multipath loss which is suitable for underwater environment are necessary method to improve the efficiency and communication performance in underwater communication. This paper is modeled in an environment that caused the error, considered each simulated the multi-path loss, transmission loss, the Doppler spread in order to implement a practical communication environment and simulated through the MIMO-OFDM system of Alamouti STBC method. The MIMO-OFDM system 2Tx-2Rx of Alamouti STBC scheme in underwater vertical communication system is obtained about 3~5 dB gain as compare with its 2Tx-1Rx scheme with reference $10^{-3}$ BER.

  • Data imbalance is a common issue encountered in classification problems, stemming from a significant disparity in the number of samples between classes within the dataset. Such data imbalance typically leads to problems in classification models, including overfitting, underfitting, and misinterpretation of performance metrics. Methods to address this issue include resampling, augmentation, regularization techniques, and adjustment of loss functions. In this paper, we focus on loss function adjustment, particularly comparing the performance of various configurations of loss functions (Cross Entropy, Balanced Cross Entropy, two settings of Focal Loss: 𝛼 = 1 and 𝛼 = Balanced, Asymmetric Loss) on Multi-Class black-box video data with imbalance issues. The comparison is conducted using the I3D, and R3D_18 models.

  • In this paper, control theoretic approaches are proposed to guarantee QoS (Quality of Series) such as packet delay and packet loss of real-time traffic in high-speed communication network. Characteristics of variable rate real-time traÆc in communication networks are described. The mathematical model describing networks including source and destination nodes are suggested. By a traffic control mechanism, it is shown that worst-case end-to-end transfer delay of traffic can be controlled and packet loss can be prevented. The simulation shows results of delay control and buer level control to raise QoS in realtime traffic.

  • Shingled technology is the latest cell interconnection technology developed in the photovoltaic (PV) industry due to its reduced resistance loss, low-cost, and innovative electrically conductive adhesive (ECA). There are several advantages associated with shingled technology to develop cell to module (CTM) such as the module area enlargement, low processing temperature, and interconnection; these advantages further improves the energy yield capacity. This review paper provides valuable insight into CTM loss when cells are interconnected by shingled technology to form modules. The fill factor (FF) had improved, further reducing electrical power loss compared to the conventional module interconnection technology. The commercial PV module technology was mainly focused on different performance parameters; the module maximum power point (Pmpp), and module efficiency. The module was then subjected to anti-reflection (AR) coating and encapsulant material to absorb infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV) light, which can increase the overall efficiency of the shingled module by up to 24.4%. Module fabrication by shingled interconnection technology uses EGaIn paste; this enables further increases in output power under standard test conditions. Previous research has demonstrated that a total module output power of approximately 400 Wp may be achieved using shingled technology and CTM loss may be reduced to 0.03%, alongside the low cost of fabrication.

  • In this paper, we consider the factors that affect a conversion loss performance in designing a single balanced diode mixer integrated with IRF(Image Reject Filter), based on the embedded electrical wavelength placed between the IRF and mixer, diode matching and LO drive amplifier. To evaluate the conversion loss performance, we suggest two types of a single balanced mixer using 90 degree branch line coupler, microstrip line and schottky diode. One is only mixer and the other is integrated with IRF and LO drive amplifier. The measured results of a single balance diode mixer integrated IRF show the conversion loss of 8.5 dB and the flatness of 1 dB p-p from 21.2 GHz to 22.6 GHz with 10 dBm LO. The measured input PI dB and IIP3 are 7 dBm and 15 dBm respectively under the nominal LO power level of 10dBm. The LO/RF and LO/IF isolation are 22 dB and 50 dB, respectively.

  • We measured the clutter loss (CL) and building entry loss (BEL) of signals in a low-rise high-density suburban environment. Three propagation models for BEL, CL, and a combination of BEL and CL were measured in the selected environment. We then derived the figures when the BEL was combined with the CL. At the two frequencies, the measured value of combination of BEL and CL is 27.55 dB and 26.12dB, respectively, and the differences between the measured value and the sum were -4.19 dB and 5.82 dB. Considering that the measurement was performed inside a building, such a difference seems to be small. Therefore, when BEL and CL were measured separately and summed, and then combined and summed, differences of -4.19 dB and 5.82 dB were apparent. This this result can be referenced when similar case of a propagation model was analyzed.
