  • Biosynthsis of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), the most common prostanoid with potent and diverse bio-activities, is regulated by three sequential enzymatic steps composed of phospholipase A2, cyclooxygenase (COX), and prostaglandin E synthase (PGES). Recently, three distinct PGESs have been identified; two of them are membrane-bound enzymes, mPGES-1 and mPGES-2, and the third one is a cytosolic enzyme, cPGES. (omitted)

  • Naturally occurring azasugar and homologous compounds have been the object of numerous synthetic efforts because these classes of compounds have interesting bioloical activities and the flexibility for the synthesis of chiral alkaloid comounds. As part of a program directed toward the preparation of glycosidase inhibitors, we prepared bicyclic perhydrooxazino- and oxazolopyridine from aminoalcohols and epoxyaldehyde as a common synthetic intermediate.

국내 닭 콕시듐균의 발생 현황과 방제대책 (A Review on Current Situation and Control of Avian Coccidiosis in Korea)

  • Several aspects about the epidemiological status of chicken coccidiosis, its control measures and recent research activities in Korea are discussed in this paper. Medication with different available anticoccidial drugs has been reasonably effective in treating and preventing serious outbreaks of coccidiosis in chicken, but the disease remains one of the most expensive and common diseases of popultry production in this country, and more recently its incidence is increasing, possibly due to the more intensive methods of husbandry and the immergence of resistant strains of coccidia. Therefore, this necessitates a continuous search for new methods such as medication program (shuttl and rotation program) and immunization using attenuated strains or parasite antigens.

  • This paper presents several important status and strategic rotes for APEC Engineer Framework. Every technologies and engineering services are opened to the world and freely competed under WTO system after 1995. Most developed economics have been organized and coordinated each other within the common economic zone, such as EU, NAFTA for the mutual recognition agreement for professional engineers . Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Engineers ( APEC Engineers) has been organizing to proceed the mutual recognition agreement for professional engineers among the Asia and Pacific economic including Korea from 1996. Therefore, Korean government and civil organization, such as KPEA must monitor and investigate the activities and managements of APEC Engineers.

  • The Assessment using the observation is one of the common ways to know what the student knows and dose not. Using the obserbational Assessment, Teachers, analyzing student's growth, provide appropriate feed-back, and so they try to record every activities. but, accumulatively recording the result of observational assessment face time·spacial limits. and it is difficult to apply in a real classroom situation. Taking these into consideration, I'd like to take a look at the idea of check-list assessment that could record data observing student and contrive a practical ways of application.

  • Polyketides are a class of structurally diverse natural products which possess a wide range of biological activities. These compounds are used throughout medicine and agriculture as antimicrobials, immunosuppressants, antiparasitics, and anticancer agents. While structurally diverse, polyketides are assembled by a common mechanism of decarboxylative condensations of simple malonate derivatives by polyketide synthases (PKSs) in a manner very similar to fatty acid biosynthesis (Fig 1).   • Depression is common psychiatric diseases characterized by diverse physical and emotional symptoms including low mood, loss of interest in pleasurable activities, and feelings of worthlessness. Depression causes of death and disability. The first antidepressant was created by the idea that central serotonin mechanism. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, fluoxetine is the first-line drug in the treatment of depressive disorder and their few side effects as opposed to tricyclic antidepressants. Not all people with depression respond adequately to standard treatments. Korean music playing/listening actions appear to be a reliable approach to developing recovery from depression.

경남지역 일부 산업간호사의 보건관리 업무 및 관련요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Health Care Activities of Some Industrial Nurses and their Related Factors in Kyungnam Area)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the performance of the role and function of some industrial nurses and to characterize the factors affecting the performance of their activities. Thus the results could be used to suggest the direction in the performance of industrials nurses' activities effectively. During a period from January 10 to March 31, 1994, the data were collected from 87 industrial nurses, who were working as health managers in the plants, in Ulsan city and the vicinity in Kyungnam province, using a structured questionnaire. The results were as follows : 1. The general characteristics of industrial nurses in this study were 82.8% being 30 years old or less, 60.9%, being not married, and 93.1% having eduction levels above junior college. 2. With respect to general work conditions, 94.3% were working in a separate room provided for health care division, 40.2% working under the safety and health department, and 98.9% working as common-level staffs. And 60.9% were working less than 44 hours a week, 70.1% had work experiences less than 5 years, and 50.6% had annual incomes ranging 10 to 14 million wons. 3. As work conditions related to health care activities, 49.4% performed the activities not related to health care as always or occasionally, and 87.4% answered that occupational physicians were appointed in their plant and among them, however, only 6.9% worked on full-time basis and 52.8% perform little activities as occupational physicians. For a decision related to health care activity, 69.0% discussed the problems with the supervisors, and 19.5% made decisions by themselves. 4. As for attitude and perception to their activities as health managers, 66.7% moderately recognized the importance of health manager in the workplace, with 63.2% being satisfied their wages and treatment from the company, 57.5% being satisfied with their job positions and 51.7% having positive attitudes as being health managers. 5. The degree of performance at least in one of health related activities were very high in activities such as general medical care(100%), general health examination(98.0%) and specific health examination(100%), and relatively high in health education(72%), new employee health examination(60.9%), document handling(79.3%) and activity for work environment(70.1%). However, the performance rate was very low in preparing protective equipment (20.8%). 6. The levels of activities related to health care were significantly high when making decisions by themselves, when occupational physicians not being full-time, and when satisfying their job positions, and, on the other hand, significantly decreased as work hours increased. 7. In addition to some kinds of periodic education asked by all of the nurses, 89.7% wanted a specialized licensing system for industrial nurse, and 97.4% wanted to apply for the license test. As a conclusion, it is suggested that industrial nurses should be given more authority and placed in more self-controlled system to perform health care and other activities more efficiently, and the role and function of the occupational physician should be clearly distinguished from that of the industrial nurse as a health manager to avoid an unnecessary overlapping.

재배온도에 따른 강낭콩 싹나물의 재배특성 및 항산화 활성 (Growth Characteristics of Sprouts and Changes of Antioxidant Activities in Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) with Cultivated Temperature)

  • 본 연구는 강낭콩 싹나물의 재배시 재배온도에 따른 싹나물의 재배특성 및 항산화 활성을 분석하여 강낭콩을 이용한 채소용 싹나물 재배방법 구명과, 강낭콩 싹나물이 가진 성분 및 활성 등을 분석하여 최적 재배 조건을 구명하기 위하여 수행하였다. 1. 강낭콩 싹나물 재배를 위하여 $20^{\circ}C$, $23^{\circ}C$$25^{\circ}C$의 온도에서 5일간 재배한 결과 전장 및 배축장은 $23^{\circ}C$에서 재배하였을 경우 가장 우수하게 재배되었으며, 배축직경의 경우는 온도와 상관없이 모두 유사하게 재배되었다. 2. 재배온도별 강낭콩 싹나물의 불완전발아율 및 수율을 측정한 결과 재배온도별로 큰 차이를 보였으며, $20^{\circ}C$$25^{\circ}C$에서 재배 시 50%가 넘는 불완전발아율을 보였으나, $23^{\circ}C$에서는 10% 내외로 나타났다. 3. 강낭콩 싹나물의 재배온도별 조지방 및 조단백질 함량을 분석한 결과 재배온도 및 강낭콩 품종에 따라 큰 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 4. 재배온도($20^{\circ}C$, $23^{\circ}C$$25^{\circ}C$) 및 일수(0일, 3일, 5일 및 7일)별 강낭콩 싹나물의 폴리페놀 함량 및 라디칼 소거능을 측정한 결과 재배온도 및 일수가 증가함에 따라 폴리페놀 함량 및 라디칼 소거능이 증가하였으며, 특히 $23^{\circ}C$에서 재배 시 가장 높은 폴리페놀 함량 및 라디칼 소거능을 나타냈다.
