Sentiment Analysis on Global Events under Pandemic of COVID-19

  • During last few years, pandemic of COVID-19 has been a global issue. Under the COVID-19, global events have been restricted or canceled to secure public hygiene and safety. Since one of the largest global events is Olympic Games, we selected recent Olympic Games as our case of analysis. Tokyo Olympic Games (TOG) was held in 2021, but it encountered a millennium disaster, the pandemic of COVID-19. In such a special period, it is of great significance to explore the emotional tendency of global views before and TOG via artificial intelligence. This paper vastly collects the TOG comment data of mainstream websites in South Korea, China, and the United States by implementing crawler program for sentiment analysis (SA). And we use a variety of sentiment analysis models to compare the accuracy of the experimental results, to obtain more reliable SA results. In addition, in the prediction results, to reduce the distortion of opinion by a minority, we introduce an algorithm called "Removing Biased Minority Opinions (RBMO)" and provide how to apply this method to the interpretation domain. Through our method, more authoritative SA results were obtained, which in turn provided a basis for predicting the sentiment tendency of countries around the world in TOG during the COVID-19 epidemic.

  • Public participation in the Environmental Impact Assessment(EIA) has been implemented since the August 1 of 1991 with the Environmental Policy Act promulgation in the August 1 of 1991. It is structured to comment on draft Environmental Impact Statement(EIS) through open reviewing, public meeting and hearing. Though public participation has an important role in determining environmental significance, it is room for improvement. With positive public participation and system development such as Environmental Impact Assessment Act on June 11 of 1993, the effectiveness of it will be improved. This article is composed of status of public participation, comparison with other countries, comparison analysis by items of EIS prepared before and after public participation, and contents of public opinions in EIS.

A Study on the Sentiment analysis of Google Play Store App Comment Based on WPM(Word Piece Model) (WPM(Word Piece Model)을 활용한 구글 플레이스토어 앱의 댓글 감정 분석 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 한국어 기본 유니트 단위로 WPM을 활용한 구글 플레이 스토어 앱의 댓글 감정분석을 수행하였다. 먼저 자동 띄어쓰기 시스템을 적용한 후, 어절단위, 형태소 분석기, WPM을 각각 적용하여 모델을 생성하고, 로지스틱 회귀(Logistic Regression), 소프트맥스 회귀(Softmax Regression), 서포트 벡터머신(Support Vector Machine, SVM)등의 알고리즘을 이용하여 댓글 감정(긍정과 부정)을 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 어절단위, 형태소 분석기보다 WPM이 최대 25%의 향상된 결과를 얻었다. 또한 분류 과정에서 로지스틱회귀, 소프트맥스 회귀보다는 SVM 성능이 우수했으며, SVM의 기본 파라미터({'kernel':('linear'), 'c':[4]})보다 최적의 파라미터를 적용({'kernel': ('linear','rbf', 'sigmoid', 'poly'), 'C':[0.01, 0.1, 1.4.5]} 하였을 때, 최대 91%의 성능이 나타났다.

TEM Stud of GaN Thick Film Crystals Grown by HVPE

  • Gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductor is intensively under investigation for commercialization of short wavelength light emitting devices and laser diodes. One of serious obstacles to overcome is to reduce the defect density in GaN film grown by various techniques such as MOCVD, HVPE, etc. Many research groups including SAIT are trying to improve the defect density to 106-107/cm2 from the level of 108-1010/cm2. We have investigated epitaxial growth behaviour of GaN thin and thick films under hidride vapour phase epitaxy (HVPE) condition. In this report, we present the microstructural and crystallographical characteristics of the GaN films grown on sapphire (0001) substrate which were studied by both conventional and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Also we present some microscopic analysis results obtained from GaN films grown by ELO(dpitzsial lateral overgrowth)-HVPE and from GaN quantum well structures grown by MOCVD. Another serious problem in growing GaN thick film by HVPE is internal micro-cracks. We also comment the origin of the micro-crack.

  • To attain the rich and comfortable human living, much development and economic growth are needed. But the radical development destroys natural environments or resources, and also the life environments are destroyed. How to maintain the balance between development and environments forms an important problem. Since 1955, a great deal of damage has been done to human being by the pollution of air, water or noise in Japan, for example, Minamata-byo (1956), arsenical poisoning by mkil (1955), Cd-I taiitai-byo (1955), asthma by air pollution, etc. Now, there are over 100,000 sick persons suffering from pollution in Japan. To prevent the pollution, the first act was made 1967, the kind of which were defined as follow:air, water, soil, noise, vibration ground subsidence, and bad smell. Laws on these were established 1970∼1981, and the environments here ave gradually being improved. The mentioned above gituation necsesitates the measuring or chemical analysis of pollution data, but the many cost is necessary to obtain such data. The special environment measuring certifier was needed and the Measurement Law was amended 1974. Some comment will be given of the present condition of environmental measuring certifier.

  • Re-consultation on Marine Environment Impact Assessment (MEIA) says that business operators are then licensed back from the disposition authorities undergoing a consultation process to change business plans. Marine Environment Management Act has provisions(Article 94) with respect to a case where the scale of business, the period of business, reflects the basic plan, including a plan to change a variety of reasons. But increasingly diverse types of businesses and projects which are the subject of MEIA, As it appears that the vulnerability issues and the problem of the re-consultation. In this study conducted an analysis of the literature review and comment on the re-consultation report four years. In addition, it presents a check to the problem through concrete examples related to the re-consultation and proposes improvement measures.

Technical lessons learnt from the case history of tunnel collapses (터널 붕괴사례로 부터의 기술적 교훈)

  • In this study, a database composed by 46 cases of tunnel collapses has been built up. Based on the database, comprehensive data analysis is carried out, providing us a number of the technical lessons, which can be considered in future design and construction to minimize possibility of tunnel collapse disaster. For making a better understanding, the technical lessons are given in two divisions: mountain tunnel and urban tunnel. Tunnel collapses taking place in the former tunnel are generally due to bad discontinuity condition of jointed rock mass. Otherwise, urban tunnel has weak condition generally on ground water and weathering of ground. Most of technical comments given in this paper are made based on the cases of tunnel collapses only used in this study, so that the comments seems to be hard to be available to all the tunnelling cases. However, the comment should be valuable technical lessons for tunnel engineers to consider in tunnel design or construction.

  • 본 논문에서는 JPEG 파일의 구조를 먼저 살펴하고, MS Windows 운영체제 상에서 비정상적인 JPEG 파일을 접근(open)할 때 발생할 수 있는 버퍼 오버런 취약성(MS04-028)을 재연하여 분석한다. JPEG 파일의 헤더에 코멘트(comment) 부분이 있을 경우 길이 필드가 잘못되어 있고 JPEG 파일의 몸체에 쉘코드(cmd.exe) 생성부분을 가지고 있을 경우, 버퍼(heap) 오버런 공격이 발생되어 예기치 못한 결과들이 발생 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 디버거(WinDBG) 및 역공학 도구(IDAPro)를 이용하여, 이러한 JPEG 파일 관련 취약성을 분석하면서 바이너리 코드만 주어진 경우의 취약성 분석 절차를 이해하고 보안 결함 부분을 추적하는 연구를 수행한다.

Emerging Gender Issues in Korean Online Media: A Temporal Semantic Network Analysis Approach

  • In South Korea, as awareness of gender equality increased since the 1990s, policies for gender equality and social awareness of equality have been established. Until recently, however, the gap between men and women in social and economic activities has not reached the globally desired level and led to social conflict throughout the country. In this study, we analyze the content of online news comments to understand the public perception of gender equality and the details of gender conflict and to grasp the emergence and diffusion process of emerging issues on gender equality. We collected text data from the online news that included the word 'gender equality' posted from January 2012 to June 2017 and also collected comments on each selected news item. Through text mining and the temporal semantic network analysis, we tracked the changes in discourse on gender equality and conflict. Results revealed that gender conflicts are increasing in the online media, and the focus of conflict is shifting from 'position and role inequality' to 'opportunity inequality'.
