가스터빈 기화기의 분무 가시화 연구 (Spray Visualization of the Gas Turbine Vaporizer)

  • Spray visualization of a vaporizer fuel injection system of a micro turbo jet engine was experimentally studied. The fuel heating by combustion was simulated by the high pressure steam generator and combustor inlet air from the centrifugal compressor was simulated by compressed air stored in the high pressure air tank. Spray visualization was performed with single vaporizer, and then six vaporizers which are same number of micro turbojet engine were used. As a results, the spray characteristics of the vaporizer were understood with pressure difference of the combustor inlet air and the fuel supply pressure. Spray angles with three types of vaporizer configuration were measured. In the results, guide vane configuration has a wider spray angle than the straight tube and smooth curve tube with a swirler, so it is expected that the fuel will be effectively distributed inside the combustor flame tube.

부력의 영향을 최소화한 조건에서 대향류 확산화염의 화염 소화에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Flame Extinction in Buoyancy-minimized Counterflow Diffusion Flame)

  • Experiments were conducted to clarify role of the outermost edge flame on low-strain-rate flame extinction in buoyancy-suppressed non-premixed methane flames diluted with He and $N_2$. The use of He curtain flow produced a microgravity level of $10^{-2}-10^{-3}g$ in $N_2$- and He-diluted non-premixed counterflow flame experiments. The critical He and $N_2$ mole fractions at extinction with a global strain rate were examined at various burner diameters (10, 20, and 25 mm). The results showed that the extinction curves differed appreciably with burner diameter. Before the turning point along the extinction curve, low-strain-rate flames were extinguished via shrinkage of the outermost edge flame with and without self-excitation. High-strain-rate flames were extinguished via a flame hole while the outermost edge flame was stationary. These characteristics could be identified by the behavior of the outermost edge flame. The results also showed that the outermost edge flame was not influenced by radiative heat loss but by convective heat addition and conductive heat losses to the ambient He curtain flow. The numerical results were discussed in detail. The self-excitation before the extinction of a low-strain-rate flame was well described by a dependency of the Strouhal number on global strain rate and normalized nozzle exit velocity.

Passive open-path FT-IR spectrometer를 사용한 원거리 화재 연소 가스 정량 분석 (The quantitative analysis of combustive gases on fire by remote passive open path FT-IR spectrometer)

  • 본 연구에서는 대기오염 및 화산활동에 의한 분출가스의 원거리 가스검출에 제한적으로 사용된 개방형 푸리에 변환 분광 분석기(open path FT-IR spectrometer)를 사용하여 적외선광원을 사용하지 않는 passive mode로 $CO_2$, CO, $SO_2$에 대한 정량 분석을 시도하였다. 표준가스를 이용하여 제작된 적외선흡수 스펙트럼으로 $CO_2$, CO, $SO_2$ 다중 회귀 곡선(MLR)을 사용한 농도 별 검량선 작업 결과, $CO_2$, CO는 결정 계수가 0.90 이상으로 선형성이 좋았으나, $SO_2$는 0.88로 비교적 낮은 선형성을 확인할 수 있었다. 실제 화재 실험을 통하여 3가지 가스에 대해서 측정한 결과 $CO_2$는 높은 농도를 확인하였으나, CO, $SO_2$는 확인되지 않았다. 이 결과를 통해서 적외선 광원 없이 개방형 푸리에 변환 분광 분석기를 활용하여 화재시 배출되는 가스의 원거리측정이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • 항공기 엔진 등 연소기의 표면온도는 연소성능과 관련된 중요한 측정인자 중의 하나이나 통상적인 온도측정 기술로는 연소화염이나 진동, 분진 등의 열악환경으로 인해 측정오차가 매우 큰 측정량이다. 이를 해결하기 위한 기술로 형광체의 온도에 따른 감쇠광의 파장변화 혹은 감쇠시간 변화를 이용하여 실시간으로 연소기 표면온도를 측정할 수 있는 기술이 개발되었다. 본 연구에서는 스크렘젯 연소기 내부 표면온도르르 in-situ 상태에서 측정할 수 있는 기술을 개발하기 위한 일환으로 355 nm 파장의 레이저로 여기된 Dy:YAG 형광체의 온도에 따른 분광특성을 최대 $800^{\circ}C$까지 측정하였고, 전기로 내에서 교정된 열전대를 이용하여 형광온도계의 교정곡선을 구하였다.

밀폐용기 연소실험 시 센서위치에 따라 변화하는 압력 진동에 대한 수치적 연구 (A CFD Study on the Combustion Pressure Oscillation by a Location of a Pressure Transducer inside Closed Vessel)

  • 밀폐용기 내 Zirconium/Potassium Perchlorate의 연소를 수치적 모델링을 통해 전산해석을 수행하였다. 5차 WENO 공간차분법과 improved delayed detached eddy (IDDES) 난류모델을 사용하여 충격파가 동반되는 내부 유동구조를 모사하였고, 라그랑지안 연소모델을 통해 화약 입자를 계산하였다. 옆면 중앙에 센서가 설치된 원통형 밀폐용기 내부 유동분석을 통해 압력 진동이 발생하는 원인을 규명하였다. 또한 센서 다이어프램 깊이 변화에 따라 측정되는 압력 데이터를 실험값과 비교분석 하였다. 그 결과 센서 탭의 깊이가 약 2.36 mm 이상으로 커지면 유동속도가 아음속으로 감쇠하고 복잡한 eddy가 발생하여 측정값에 큰 불규칙성을 야기하는 현상을 관측하였다.

항공우주용 리오셀계 탄소/페놀릭 복합재료의 내열 성능 평가 (Evaluation of Heat Resistance of Lyocell-based Carbon/Phenolic for Aerospace)

  • 리오셀계 탄소/페놀릭 복합재료의 항공우주용 내열 부품 적용 가능성을 확인하기 위하여 내열성능 평가 및 열 해석을 수행하였다. 탄소/페놀릭의 열반응 평가는 내열성능평가모터(Thermal Protection Evaluation Motor, TPEM)로 수행되었다. 본 논문에서는 열 해석을 위해 유체의 경계층 해석을 고려한 경계층 적분 코드와 삭마 및 열분해를 고려한 MSC-Marc 2018 코드를 사용하였다. 추진기관의 압력 곡선, 연소 시험 후 절개된 목삽입재 시편을 통하여 삭마 및 단열성능을 분석하였고, 리오셀계 탄소/페놀릭 복합재료의 열반응은 레이온계 탄소/페놀릭 재료와 유사하였다. 연소시험을 통한 결과를 바탕으로 국산 리오셀계 탄소/페놀릭의 항공우주용 내열 부품으로의 적용 가능성을 확인하였다.

온침 열특성의 기류 영향에 관한 연구 (Study of Air Flow Effects on Heat Characteristics of Warm Needle Acupuncture)

  • Objectives : To characterize the thermal properties of traditional warm needle and new warm needle with various air flows as an important environmental factor and to suggest the necessity of maintaining suitable environment of clinics to maximize their efficacy. Methods : We measured the temperature characteristics of traditional moxa warm needle and new moxa charcoal warm needle by applying an automatic temperature acquisition system with thermocouples while external various air flows were supplied. Temperatures of two positions at the needle body were measured while a moxa cone burned. Typical temperature characteristics like peak temperature, duration, curve shape and the efficiency of the heat stimuli by heat amount analysis were executed. Results : Both warm needles showed similar temperature curve with an increase in the air flow. Peak temperature and duration of effective heat decreased with the air flow, as shown in indirect moxibustion on garlic. The temperature change pattern by the air flow became more apparent when the total combustion heat was compared with the effective heat. The values from two positions on the needle body were significantly different, showing a distance dependency from the heat source of warm needle acupuncture. Conclusions : Thermal properties of warm needle acupuncture was observed variously with surrounding air flow of 0.0 - 0.7 m/s. It emphasized the importance of environmental control as well as the warm needle itself such as heat source and needle. The latter has already been known to deliver designated heat to subjects. It also indicated the importance of education and skill of the practitioners of warm needle acupuncture.

석탄연소재의 산도조절을 통한 농업적 활용 가능성 (Feasibility of Coal Combustion Ash on Acidity Regulation for Agricultural Use)

  • BACKGROUND: Coal ashes generated from thermal power plants have been known as beneficial materials for agricultural use because of their nutrient elements. However, there is limitation to recycle them due to their alkalinity. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness or safety of the coal ashes for their heavy metals on agricultural recycling when adjusted to pH of 5 with sulfuric acid. METHODS AND RESULTS: Concentration of hydrogen which is needed to adjust pH of coal ash was estimated by using a buffering curve and then the amount of sulfuric acid was changed by the estimation before incubation. Each of fly ash (FA) and bottom ash (BA) was collected from both thermal plants of Yeongdong (YD) and Yeongheung (YH). The pH values of coal ashes increased to 4.76 (from 4.34) after incubation with sulfuric acid for 56 days, closer to the targeted pH. Coal ashes also increased the contents of available phosphorus by 2-fold (165 mg/kg) and 11-fold (1,137 mg/kg) for YDBA and YDFA, respectively, compared to the control. CONCLUSION: The utilization of coal ash with its acidity regulation would be very beneficial to agriculture sector and further suggest promising environmental safety against heavy metals.

Characteristics Evaluation on Welding Metal Zones Welded with Inconel 625 Filler Metal to Cast Steel for Piston Crown Material

  • Since the oil price has been significantly jumped for several years, a heavy oil of low quality has been mainly used in the diesel engine of the merchant ship. Thus, a combustion chamber of the engine has been often exposed to severely corrosive environment more and more because temperature of the exhaust gas of the combustion chamber has been getting higher and higher with increasing of using the heavy oil of low quality. As a result, wear and corrosion of the engine parts such as exhaust valve, piston crown and cylinder head surrounded with combustion chamber are more serious compared to the other parts of the engine. Therefore, an optimum repair welding for these engine parts is very important to prolong their lifetime in a economical point of view. In this study, Inconel 625 filler metal were welded with GTAW method in the cast steel which would be generally used with piston crown material. And the corrosion properties of weld metal, heat affected and base metal zones were investigated using electrochemical methods such as measurement of corrosion potential, anodic polarization curves, cyclic voltammogram and impedance etc. in 35% $H_2SO_4$ solution. The weld metal and base metal zones exhibited the highest and lowest values of hardness respectively. Furthermore, the corrosion current density of the weld metal zone revealed the lowest value, having the highest value of hardness. The corrosive products with red color and local corrosion like as a pitting corrosion were considerably observed at the base metal zone, while these morphologies were not wholly observed in the weld metal zone. In particular, the polarization characteristics such as impedance, polarization curve and cyclic voltammogran associated with corrosion resistance property were well in good agreement with each other. Consequently, it is suggested that the mechanical and corrosion characteristics of the piston crown can be predominantly improved by repair welding method using the Inconel 625 electrode.

자동차 배기성능개선을 위한 확장형 공동파이프에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Expansion Cavity Pipe for Performance Improvement of Exhaust System in Automotive)

  • The temperature of exhaust gas was raised by increasing of engine movement on developing engine. Thermal of high temperature and pressure reverse in bellows, because of increasing of engine movement and the thermal performance of converter in combustion. As a result, thermal loss is increased and thermal efficiency is decreased rapidly in bellows, it can occur to damage in mechanical structure. In this study, it was necessary to analyze back pressure performance and thermal characteristic on driving condition in exhaust system. It was adapted braid type bellows and straight type exhaust pipe. It was compared with curve type exhaust pipe for lay-out on considering to design of exhaust system. It was necessary to improve thermal characteristic and back pressure performance so that expansion cavity pipe(ECP) was installed between bellows and catalyst convert. Not only decreasing back pressure was solved but also thermal characteristic problems in exhaust pipe because of increasing capacity. According to this study, the basis of data is presented when new exhaust system is designed.
