As an alternative way to overcome the weakness of the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) in hostile situation, a gravity gradient referenced navigation (GGRN) has been developed. This paper analyzed the performance of GGRN with respect to the initial errors, DB resolution as well as update rates. On the basis of simulations, it was found that the performance of GGRN is getting worse when initial errors exist but the navigation results are rapidly converged. Also, GGRN generates better results when DB resolution is higher and update rates are shorter than 20 seconds. However, it is difficult to deduce the optimal parameters for the navigation because some trajectories show better performance in case low-resolution DB is applied or long update rate is supposed. Therefore, further analysis to derive specific update conditions to improve the performance has been performed. Those update conditions would not be generalized for all cases although maximum improvement rate is over 200% in certain case. In the future, some more developments and tests on the combination of various geophysical data and/or algorithms are necessary to construct more stable and reliable navigation system.
It is difficult to obtain high-resolution images by 3D gravity inversion, because the problem is extremely underdetermined - there are too many model parameters. In order to reduce the number of model parameters we propose a 3D gravity inversion scheme utilising Euler deconvolution as a priori information. The essential point of this scheme is the reduction of the nonuniqueness of solutions by restricting the inversion space with the help of Euler deconvolution. We carry out a systematic exploration of the growing body process, but only in the restricted space within a certain radius of the Euler solutions. We have tested our method with synthetic gravity data, and also applied it to a real dataset, to delineate underground cavities in a limestone area. We found that we obtained a more reasonable subsurface density image by means of this combination between the Euler solution and the inversion process.

This paper is to provide a reference surface geoid for geodetic applications of satellite altimeter data. The paticular satellite alone or the combination with other altimeter data could be used for the recovery of geoid un-dulations and gravity anomalies in the ocean areas. This paper also describes the geoidal undulation in the ocean area of Korean Peninusla using Geosat, ERS-1 and Topex/Poseidon data. The results show that the quasi-stationary sea surface topography (557) is estimated to be less than 10 cm RMS value in the ocean area of Korean Peninsula. This can be considered as an altimeter geoid.
General physical properties and radiation durabilities of some domestic woods and imported lauans were measured and discussed as a preliminary study on the preparation of W. P. C. The data obtained indicate that 1) the hardness of wood is generally proportional to the specific gravity and to the bending strength, 2) the hardness of wood measured in tangential direction to the annual ring increases along with the distance from the center of the annual ring to the peel, 3) the changes of specific gravity under 100 Mrad gamma irradiation are not remarkable, 4) the hardnesses of the soft woods are decreased more -readily than those of the hard woods, but the decreases of hardnesses are not extreme upto 10 Mrad sugges ting that the woods are sufficiently durable to gamma irradiation of below 10 Mard in the preparation of W. P. C.

The new gravity field combination models are expected to improve the knowledge of the Earth's global gravity field. This study evaluates six global gravity field models derived from gravimetry and altimetry surface data in a comparison with ground truth in South Korea. For calculating a more accurate estimate of the geoid heights from the height anomalies, the terrain corrections due to the terrain masses over geoid have considered, the model for the topographic correction is a spherical harmonic expansion of the ETOPO2 DTM model. Geoid heights obtained from GPS and levelling in land area of South Korea are compared with those from the EGMs. The results show that EIGEN-CG03C EGM and EIGEN-GL04C EGM displayed the nearest results to GPS/leveling, and also confirmed the importance of terrain correction for geoid height in case of the uneven topography.

Recently. as the alternatives to preserve environment such as effective usage of wastes or unusable resources are drawing attentions, researches and measures for the two tasks, which are reuse of waste wood and development of eco-friendly materials, are being examined and established in various fields. However, they are still insufficient. Therefore, in this study, for the efficient application of waste woods and eco-friendly effects, mortar was produced using sawdust af the waste wood and mineral material cement for combination, in order to produce inorganic boards using waste woods, which were made when sawing. The present study purposed to analyze the physical and dynamic characteristics of woody cement boards, which were made by modifying water-cement ratio for each wood inclusion rate based on a hardening-accelerator inclusion rate set in previous studies and, based on the findings. to provide basic data about the physical properties of inorganic boards made of waste wood, in order to Produce woody cement boards using waste wood, which has problems in being used in the manufacturing of woody cement boards.
We are currently living in the era of the wide field cosmological surveys, either spectroscopic such as Dark Energy Spectrograph Instrument or photometric such as the Dark Energy Survey or the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope. By analyzing the distribution of matter clustering, we can use the growth of structure, in combination with measurements of the expansion of the Universe, to understand dark energy or to test different models of gravity. But we also live in the era of multi-tracer or multi-messenger astrophysics. In particular, during the next decades radio surveys will map the matter distribution at higher redshifts. Like in optical surveys, there are radio imaging surveys such as continuum radio surveys such as the ongoing EMU or spectroscopic by measuring the hydrogen 21cm line. However, we can also use intensity mapping as a low resolution spectroscopic technique in which we use the intensity given by the emission from neutral hydrogen from patches of the sky, at different redshifts. By cross-correlating this maps with galaxy catalogues we can improve our constraints on cosmological parameters and to understand better how neutral hydrogen populates different types of galaxies and haloes. Creating realistic mock intensity mapping catalogues is necessary to optimize the future analysis of data. I will present the mock neutral hydrogen catalogues that we are developing, using the Horizon run 4 simulations, to cross-correlate with mock galaxy catalogues from low redshift surveys and I will show the preliminary results from the first mock catalogues.
To obtain basic data for the utilization of saltwort (Salicornia herbacea L.) as a functional ingredient in steamed foam cake, the optimum component ratios for major raw ingredients (saltwort, salt, and wheat flour) as independent variables that affect the product quality were scientifically determined using RSM (response surface methodology) technique. A three-factor and five-level rotational central composite design was used for treatment arrangement. The complete design consisted of 16 experimental points. The three independent variables selected for the RSM experiment were amounts of saltwort (X$_1$, 5${\sim}$25 g), salt (X$_2$, 0${\sim}$10 g), and wheat flour (X$_3$, 470${\sim}$530 g). The optimum responses in specific gravity of the batter and volume, color, texture, and sensory evaluation result of the cake were obtained. The specific gravity and viscosity of the batter at p<0.01 was verified from the regression curve. The characteristic of the batter was influenced by all independent variables, but was extremely dependent on the amount of saltwort ordinary points of the surface responses from the batter formed the minimum points for specific gravities of the batter while viscosities of the batter appeared with the saddle points. Analysis of the response indicated that the amount of saltwort was the most influential factor over the physical properties of the cake, among the dependent variables. Ordinary points of the surface responses from the cake formed the maximum points for loaf volume, hardness gumminess, and chewiness, while Hunter colorimetric parameters appeared with the saddle points. The result indicated that level of the saltwort deviating more or less from the optimal amount decreased the volume and increased the specific gravity with less tender product. Ordinary points of the surface responses of the sensory evaluation scores from the cake formed the maximum points for appearance, flavor, softness, and overall acceptability, while color values appeared with the saddle points. The result also indicated that the level of the saltwort deviating more or less from the optimal amount reduced the preference for the product. Integration of the optimum responses common to all dependent variables that overlapped all the contour maps finally indicated that the combination of 8.3${\sim}$13.8 g saltwort, 2.5${\sim}$6.6 g salt, and 486.5${\sim}$511.5 g wheat flour under the selected preparation recipe optimized the physical and sensory properties in the teamed foam cakes. Practical preparation of the product with median amounts of the ingredients, i.e., 11.0 g saltwort, 4.6 g salt, and 499.0 g wheat flour resulted in similar qualities to the predicted responses. In conclusion, these study results indicated that preparation of steamed foam cake with added saltwort ingredient could potentially produce a more nutritious product with less salt. Further research is required to acquire the optimum levels for sub-ingredients to improve the product quality.

Infra-gravity waves (IGWs) with a period of 1~3 minutes are a factor that directly influences the motion analysis of moored ships inside a harbor and longshore sediment transport analysis. If significant levels of IGWs from far seas are transferred to a harbor and amplified, they may cause downtime of large ships and induce economic loss. In this study, transfer characteristics of the IGWs intruding from outside to inside Pohang New Harbor were analyzed using statistical analysis and transfer function of wave data measured at both outside and inside the harbor for around 5 years. Transfer characteristic analysis was limited to events where IGWs had wave heights above 0.1 m. The wave height distribution of inside the harbor was similar to that of outside the harbor, while the wave period variance of the former was larger than that of the latter. The parameters of the transfer function was optimally estimated according to each event. The estimated average RMS error of the wave height inside the harbor was around 0.013 m. The estimated parameters had a strong correlation with the linear combination information of IGW wave height, period, and direction (R = 0.95). The transfer function suggested in this study can quickly and easily estimate information on IGWs inside the harbor using IGW information predicted beforehand, and is expected to reduce damage due to unexpected restrictions on harbor usage.

Ground-based interceptors(GBI) comprise a major element of the strategic defense against hostile targets like Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles(ICBM) and reentry vehicles(RV) dispersed from them. An optimum design of the subsystems is required to increase the performance and reliability of these GBI. Propulsion subsystem design and optimization is the motivation for this effort. This paper describes an effort in which an entire GBI missile system, including a multi-stage solid rocket booster, is considered simultaneously in a Genetic Algorithm(GA) performance optimization process. Single goal, constrained optimization is performed. For specified payload and miss distance, time of flight, the most important component in the optimization process is the booster, for its takeoff weight, time of flight, or a combination of the two. The GBI is assumed to be a multistage missile that uses target location data provided by two ground based RF radar sensors and two low earth orbit(LEO) IR sensors. 3Dimensional model is developed for a multistage target with a boost phase acceleration profile that depends on total mass, propellant mass and the specific impulse in the gravity field. The monostatic radar cross section (RCS) data of a three stage ICBM is used. For preliminary design, GBI is assumed to have a fixed initial position from the target launch point and zero launch delay. GBI carries the Kill Vehicle(KV) to an optimal position in space to allow it to complete the intercept. The objective is to design and optimize the propulsion system for the GBI that will fulfill mission requirements and objectives. The KV weight and volume requirements are specified in the problem definition before the optimization is computed. We have considered only continuous design variables, while considering discrete variables as input. Though the number of stages should also be one of the design variables, however, in this paper it is fixed as three. The elite solution from GA is passed on to(Sequential Quadratic Programming) SQP as near optimal guess. The SQP then performs local convergence to identify the minimum mass of the GBI. The performance of the three staged GBI is validated using a ballistic missile intercept scenario modeled in Matlab/SIMULINK.
