벤츄리 스크러버 내의 액체 분사 미립화에 대한 수치적 해석 (Numerical Simulation for Atomization of Liquid Jet in Venturi Scrubber)

  • Liquid injection in a Venturi Scrubber creates great effect on the dust-collection efficiency and operation cost of venturi scrubbers. We have developed a model that can numerically simulate atomization of the liquid jet in the Venturi Scrubber. This simulation consists of models on liquid column, jet surface breakup, column fracture and secondary droplet breakup. These models have been embedded in the KIVA3-V code. We have calculated such parameters as the jet penetration, jet trajectory, droplet size, velocity field and the volume flux distribution. The results are compared with the experimental data in this paper.

  • 아음속 공기유동으로 수직분사하는 액체제트에 대하여 오리피스 형상이 달라질 경우, 분무특성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 실험적으로 연구하였다. 서로 다른 오리피스 길이 대 직경비와 타원형 노즐의 종횡비를 갖는 분사기들을 제작하여 수직분사 실험을 진행하였다. 원형노즐과 타원형 노즐에서의 분열길이를 비교하였으며, 타원형 노즐에서의 분열길이는 모든 실험조건에서 원형노즐에 비해 줄어들었다. 캐비테이션과 수력튀김 현상이 분사기 내부에 발달되는 분무차압 조건의 경우, 두 노즐 모두 분열길이가 감소하였다. 액주궤적의 경우, 장축으로부터 분무되는 액체제트가 횡방향 공기유동에 수직으로 부딪혀 나가는 경우가 액주의 궤적이 단축에 비해 더 휘어지며, 침투높이가 낮아진다.

  • The spray characteristics of liquid jet minted in subsonic cross-flow were investigated numerically and experimentally. The behaviors of column, penetration and breakup of plain liquid jet in non-swirling cross-flow of air have been studied. Numerical and physical models are based on a modified KIVAII code. The primary atomization is represented by a wave model based on the KH(Kelvin-Helmholtz) instability that is generated by a high interface relative velocity between the liquid and gas flows. CCD camera has been utilized in oder to capture the spray trajectory. The nozzle diameter was 0.5 mm and its L/D ratios were between 1 and 5. Numerical and experimental results indicate that the breakup point is delayed by increasing gas momentum ratio, the penetration decreases by increasing Weber number and the turbulent or nonturbulent liquid jet is obtained at different L/D ratio.

수영만 인공어초 해역에서 소너에 의한 어군의 유영행동 추적 (Acoustic Tracking of Fish Movements in an Artificial Reef Area Using a Split-beam Echo Sounder, Side-scan and Imaging Sonars at Suyeong Man, Busan, Korea)

  • The movement patterns of fish aggregations swimming freely near artificial reefs on August 24, 2006, at Suyeong Man, Busan, Korea, were acoustically investigated and analyzed. Acoustic surveys were conducted using a 70kHz split-beam echo sounder, 330 kHz side-scan sonar and a 310 kHz imaging sonar. Algorithms for tracking the movement of fish aggregations swimming in response to artificial reefs were developed. The travel direction and the swimming speed for two aggregations of fish were estimated from the trajectory orientations of echo responses recorded by the imaging sonar.The first group was floating just above the reef structure, while remaining in the midwater column, and the second group was swimming through and around artificial reefs near the seabed. The mean swimming speed was estimated to be 0.40 m/s for the midwater fish aggregation and 0.17 m/s for the bottom aggregation close to artificial reefs. These results suggest that the swimming behavior of fish aggregations passing close to artificial reefs near the seabed displayed a slower moving pattern than fish floating just above the reef structure in the midwater column.

  • 4성분계 다중반응이 반응증류 탑 내에서 발생할 때 증류거동의 변화를 시각화 방법을 통해 분석하였다. 시각화 방법이란 단순 증류의 물질수지에 각 반응에 의한 벡터를 추가하고 이를 공간상에 표현하는 것으로 각 단에서 혼합물의 조성 변화 및 반응의 진척도를 직관적으로 알 수 있다. 또한 이를 통해 주어진 운전조건에서 필요한 총 단수 및 최적반응 단의 위치를 결정할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 에틸렌글리콜(Ethylene glycol) 생산공정을 시각화 방법을 통해 분석하였다. 제안된 시각화 방법을 사용하여 복잡한 실험이나 공정모사 없이 4성분계 다중반응증류 공정에 대한 타당성 평가 및 분석이 가능하다.

Characteristics of Droplet Properties in the Two-Phase Spray into a Subsonic Cross Flow

  • The spray cross-section characteristics of two-phase spray that using external-mixing nozzle injected into a subsonic cross flow were experimentally studied with various ALR ratio that is $0{\sim}59.4%$. Suction type wind tunnel was used and experiments were conducted to ambient environment. Several plain orifice nozzles with L/d of 30 and orifice diameter of 0.5 mm and orifice length 1.5 mm were tested. Free stream velocity profiles at the injection location were measured using hot wire. Spray images were captured to study collision point and column trajectory. Phase Doppler particle analyzer(PDPA) was utilized to quantitatively measuring droplet SMD, volume flux. Measuring probe of PDPA positions was moved 3-way transverse machine. SMD distributions were layered structure and peaked at the top of the spray plume and low value at bottom of the spray. Volume flux of spray was distributed to the two side region and volume flux quantity decreased when ALR ratio increased. It was found that the perpendicularly injected two-phase spray jet of external mixing into a cross flow showing that mistlike spray moved away from the test section bottom region.

오리피스 내부 유동조건에 따른 수직분사제트의 분열특성에 대한 연구 (Effects of Orifice Internal Flow on Transverse Injection into Subsonic Crossflows: Cavitation and Hydraulic Flip)

  • 본 연구에서는 인젝터 형상에 따른 캐비테이션과 같은 유동 현상이 수직 분사된 액체 제트의 분열에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 오리피스의 지름과 길이대 지름비(L/d) 및 입구의 형상이 다른 인젝터에서 압력을 변화시켜가며 내부 유동 변화를 살피고 수직분사 시 액주의 분열 거리와 궤적을 구하여 기존의 연구 결과와 비교하고 분석하였다. 실험 결과 곡률이 없는 경우(sharp edged)의 오리피스에서는 어느 정도 이상의 압력에서 모두 캐비테이션이 발생하였고 곡률이 없는 경우 중 길이대 지름비가 작은 오리피스에선 더 높은 압력에서 캐비테이션 성장에 의한 수력튀김(hydraulic flip)현상도 관찰할 수 있었다. 수직분사 시 곡률이 있는 경우와 없는 경우 모두 동일한 모멘텀 플럭스 비(q)에 대해 거의 같은 궤적 형상을 보였으나 캐비테이션이 일어날 경우 교란에 의해 액주의 분열 거리는 감소하였고 수력튀김 또한 제트 단면적의 감소 및 제트의 확산으로 분열거리가 감소하였다.

항공기를 이용한 온실가스 CO2와 CH4의 연속관측: 안면도 겨울철 연직분포사례 분석 (Airborne In-situ Measurement of CO2 and CH4 in Korea: Case Study of Vertical Distribution Measured at Anmyeon-do in Winter)

  • A new Korean Meteorological Administration (KMA) airborne measurement platform has been established for regular observations for scientific purpose over South Korea since late 2017. CRDS G-2401m analyzer mounted on the King Air 350HW was used to continuous measurement of CO2, CH4 and CO mole fraction. The total uncertainty of measurements was estimated to be 0.07 ppm for CO2, 0.5 ppb for CH4, and 4.2 ppb for CO by combination of instrument precision, repeatability test simulated in-flight condition and water vapor correction uncertainty. The airborne vertical profile measurements were performed at a regional Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Anmyeon-do (AMY) station that belongs to the Total Carbon Column Observing Network (TCCON) and provides concurrent observations to the Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite (GOSAT) overpasses. The vertical profile of CO2 shows clear altitude gradient, while the CH4 shows non-homogenous pattern in the free troposphere over Anmyeon-do. Vertically averaged CO2 at the altitude between 1.5 and 8.0km are lower than AMY surface background value about 7 ppm but higher than that observed in free troposphere of western pacific region about 4 ppm, respectively. CH4 shows lower level than those from ground GAW stations, comparable with flask airborne data that was taken in the western pacific region. Furthermore, this study shows that the combination of CH4 distribution in free troposphere and trajectory analysis, taking account of convective mixing, is a useful tool in investigating CH4 transport processes from tropical region to Korean region in winter season.
