The color appearance of a yarn-dyed woven fabric depends on the color of the yarn as well as on the weave structure. Predicting the final color appearance or formulating the recipe is a difficult task, considering the interference of colored yarns and structure variations. In a modern fabric design process, the intended color appearance is attained through a digital color methodology based on numerous color data and color mixing recipes (i.e., color prediction models, accumulated in CAD systems). For successful color reproduction, accurate color prediction models should be devised and equipped for the systems. In this study, the final colors of yarn-dyed woven fabrics were predicted using six geometric-color mixing models (i.e., simple K/S model, log K/S model, D-G model, S-N model, modified S-N model, and W-O model). The color differences between the measured and the predicted colors were calculated to evaluate the accuracy of various color models used for different weave structures. The log K/S model, D-G model, and W-O model were found to be more accurate in color prediction of the woven fabrics used. Among these three models, the W-O model was found to be the best one as it gave the least color difference between the measured and the predicted colors.
Clarified fruit and vegetable juices (apple, carrot and tangerine) were produced using ultrafiltration and their color change due to the mixing ratio were evaluated. clarification was carried out by passing he supernatant of extracted juice through a filter and also by using a membrane of molecular weight cut-off 10,000 Daltons to obtain the juice ultrafiltrates. The mixing ratio between apple and carrot juices was kept constant at 1:1 while increasing the amount of tangerine juice according to 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50% an stored at 4$^{\circ}C$ prior to the color measurement. Hue angle ({TEX}$h_{ab}${/TEX}) and {TEX}$L^{*}${/TEX}-value increased as the tangerine mixing ratio increased. The color difference indicated by ΔE-value also increased as the amount of tangerine increased indicating that the color of the mixed juice became pale and the changes were slight but distinctive. On the other hand, chroma ({TEX}$C^{*}${/TEX}), {TEX}$La{*}${/TEX}- and {TEX}$b^{*}${/TEX}-values decreased as the tangerine mixing ratio increased indicating that the color of the mixed juice became slightly more grayish and the samples were becoming les yellow. A simple mathematical model to predict each color characteristic is proposed.

This research investigated the effect of individual yarn colors on the perception of overall colors of yarn-dyed woven fabrics. The way the colors of yarn-dyed woven fabrics are perceived is known as visual color mixing: when the different colored yarns juxtaposed on the fabric surface are observed from some distance away, they are visually mixed in our eyes and perceived as a solid color. However, we can still see individual yarn colors that make the fabrics look obviously different from actual solid colors. To quantify this visual color mixing effect, twenty-one sateen fabrics were produced in a wide range of colors using cyan, magenta, and yellow yarns, and the colors were measured instrumentally. The obtained colorimetric values were converted into solid color images on a CRT monitor. Then, the physical fabrics were scanned, and the scanned images were displayed on the monitor with solid color images in pairs for visual color difference evaluation. The woven and solid colors in each pair were of physically identical color; however, the visual color difference was as large as $4.81{\Delta}{E^*}_{ab}$ on average. A visual color difference model was proposed by considering this parametric effect of individual yarn colors.
With the development of package printing technology, the package has expanded from the basic function of protecting products to the marketing function through package design. Color, the visual element that composes the package design, is delivered to the consumer most quickly and effectively. As color marketing of these package designs expands, accurate color reproduction that the product wants to express is becoming more important. The color of an object is transmitted by absorption and scattering of light. Spectral reflectance refers to the intensity of light reflected by an object at different wavelengths by the spectral effect. As a result, the color of the object is expressed in various colors. Packaged printing inks have their own absorption and scattering coefficients, and the Kubelka-Munk model for color reproduction and prediction defines the relationship between these correlation coefficients through reflectance. In the Kubelka-Munk model for color reproduction and prediction, the relationship between the absorption and scattering coefficients (K/S) of printed material is predicted as the sum of the K/S values according to the mixing ratio of all color ink used. In this study, the reflectance of the measured print is reversely calculated at the mixing ratio of print ink using the Kubelka-Munk model. Through this, the relationship value of the ink-specific absorption/scattering coefficient constituting the final printed material is predicted. Delta E is derived through the predicted reflectance, and the similarity between the measured value and the predicted value is confirmed.

Aspirating or swallowing foreign bodies is a common occurrence. If they are wholly or partly radiopaque, their localization in and progress through the gastrointestinal tract can be more effective. Of the dental origin foreign materials swallowed, the most common things are fragments of anterior maxillary partial denture. But the radiopacity of denture base resins is not sufficient to determine the location of the objects. The purpose of this study was to develop a radiopaque dental acrylic resin, which has clinically detectible radiopacity with minimal change of mechanical properties and color. The radiopacity, color change(CIE 6..E) and microhardness of acrylic resins were determined after mixing barium sulfate or iodide compound. Thermocycling course was conducted to determine the change of characteristic of resins after using for a long time in the mouth. Five or ten percent of barium sulfate to total weight of cured material was mixed with heat curing dental acrylic resin or chemically curing orthodontic resin. In the case of iodide compound, the mixing ratio was two or three percent. After mixing the high radiopaque materials, resin was cured to 20×20×2 mm plate, polished with #600 sand paper and finally polished with Microcloth(Buehler). The specimens were thermocycled in 5 and 55 t distilled water for 2,000 times, and the measurement of radiopacity, color and Vickers hardness was repeated every 500 times thcrmocycling. The radiopacity of specimens on the X -ray films was measured with densitometer(X-rite). The color change was detennined with differential colorimeter(Model TC-6FX, Tokyo Denshoku), and the Vickers hardness number was measured with microhardness tester(Mitsuzawa). The following results were obtained : 1. All the three variables, the kinds of acrylic resins, the mixing or the kinds of high radiopaque materials and thermocycling, had combined effect on the radiopacity of the dental acrylic resins(p<0.0l). 2. The two variables, the mixing or the kinds of high radiopaque materials and thermocycling, influenced on the radiopacity of the dental acrylic resins(p<0.01). But the kinds of acrylic resins did not influence on the color change of mixed dental acrylic resins(p>0.05). 3. Each of the three variables, the kinds of acrylic resins, the mixing or the kinds of high radiopaque materials and thermocycling, influenced on the radiopacity of dental acrylic resins(p<0.0l). 4. The high radiopaque materials used in this study did not yield clinically usable radiopacity, and the color change was great after mixing those materials.

Experimental and computational studies were carried out to confirm the turbulent enhancement of the cooling system of nuclear reactor by large scale vortex generation in nuclear fuel bundle. The large scale vortex motions were generated by rearranging the inclination angles of mixing vanes to the coordinate directions. Axial development of mean and turbulent velocities in the subchannels were measured by the 2-color LDV system. Eddy diffusivity heat flux model and $k-varepsilon$ model were employed to analyze the turbulent heat and fluid flows in the subchannel. The turbulence generated by split mixing vanes has small length scales so that they maintain only about $10 D_H$ after the spacer grid. On the other hand, the turbulences generated by the large scale vortex continue more and remain up to $25 D_H$after the spacer gird.

The color measuring/matching expert system is implemented with a new color measuring method that combines intelligent algorithms with image processing techniques. Color measuring part of the proposed system preprocesses the scanned original color input images to eliminate their distorted components by means of the image histogram technique of image pixels, and then extracts RGB(Red, Green, Blue)data among color information from preprocessed color input images. If the extracted RGB color data does not exist on the matching recipe databases, we can measure the colors for the user who want to implement the model that can search the rules for the color mixing information, using the intelligent modeling techniques such as fuzzy inference system and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system. Color matching part can easily choose images close to the original color for the user by comparing information of preprocessed color real input images with data-based measuring recipe information of the expert, from the viewpoint of the delta Eformula used in practical process.

As production cycle has become more and more shorter, the demand of rapid prototyping technology has increased largely. There are many methods for rapid prototyping technology, such as SLA. SLS, FDM. INK JET, LOM and so on. Of all methods, SLA has been most widely used for fabricating precision parts. But products manufactured by this method have limitation of single color and single material. So the principal purpose of this study is to overcome the limit of single color product. If the internal structure of manufactured product is visible with multi-color characteristic, it is possible to check easily the designed model with reality. In order to give multi-color characteristic to the product, photocurable resin mixed with pigment is used in this study. First, transparency of photocurable resin without pigment is evaluated, and then color characteristic and curing characteristic of the mixture is evaluated changing mixing ratio. Through the basic experiments, it becomes possible to fabricate multi-color 3D prototype without assembly.
The study aimed to determine the optimal mixing ratio of two different amounts of Letinus edodes powder and egg for preparation of pasta. The complete analysis was conducted using the Design Expert 7 program (State-Easy, Minneapolis, MN). Response surface methodology revealed 10 experimental points, including two replicates for L. edodes powder and egg. L. edodes pasta formulation was optimized using rheology. Lightness and redness displayed a lineal model pattern, whereas yellowness was represented by a quadratic model. The sensory evaluation parameters of texture, color, flavor, appearance and overall quality showed significant differences for color (p<0.01), flavor (p<0.05), texture (p<0.05) and overall quality (p<0.05). All sensory parameters showed significant values in a quadratic model. The optimum formulations processed by numerical and graphical optimization were determined as 15 g of L. edodes powder and 37.5 g of egg.

Experimental and computational studies were carried out to investigate the turbulent heat transfer enhancement of the cooling system in nuclear reactor by large scale vortex generation. The large scale vortex motion was generated by rearranging the inclination angels of mixing vanes to the coordinate direction. Axial development of mean and turbulent velocities in the subchannels were measured by the 2-color LDV system. Eddy diffusivity concept based on $\kappa{-}\varepsilon$ model was employed to calculate the turbulent heat and momentum transfers in the subchannel. The turbulences generated by split mixing vanes has small length scales so that they maintain only about $10D_H$ after the spacer grid. On the other hand, the turbulences generated by the large scale vortex motions continue longer and remain up to $25D_H$ after the spacer grid.
