Estimation of surface color with use of subjective feeling: On the influence of contrast by complementary color

  • The unique colors of paper, that is, blue, green, red, and yellow were used in the estimation of color from the subjective feeling. The monochrome with unique color or the unique color surrounded with the background color was presented. Subject gazed the monochrome or the unique color, which was called target color. The target and background color were the complementary color each other. The various ratios of the area of gazed color and background were taken. Subject answered the level of subjective feeling consisted of pair of adjective items for unique color presented. With the use of the subjective feeling fer the target color presented, the estimation of the unique color was carried out due to Fuzzy theory and neural networks. The results of color difference between unique color presented and the estimated color gave very small value for the case without background, while the results of the case with background color depended on the ratio of area of presented color and background color till the ration of 2:1, The relation showed the Kirschman's law. The color difference saturated in the increase of area of background with the ratio more than 2:1.

  • Emotion recognition and regular controls are concentrated interest in computer studies to emotional changes. Thus, the quantified by objective assessment methods are essential for application of color sensibility computing situations. In this paper, it is applied to a digital color image emotion emotional computing calculations numbered recognized as one representation. Emotional computing research approach consists of a color attribute to the image recognition focused sensibility and emotional attributes of color is the color, brightness and saturation separated by. Computes the sensitivity weighted according to the score and the percentage increase or decrease in the sensitivity property tone applied to emotional expression. Sensitivity calculation is free-degree (X), and calculates the tension (Y-axis). And free-level (X-axis) coordinate of emotion, which is located the intersection of the tension (Y-axis) as a sensitivity point. The emotional effect of the Russell coordinates are utilizing the core (Core Affect). Tue numbers represent the size and sensitivity in the emotional relationship between emotional point location and quantified by computing the color sensibility.

  • A new paradigm is urgently needed to create the textile product that appeal to human Kansei or Gosei. A future of textiles depends heavily on this new paradigm. In order to create new paradigm Kansei color designs by pleasant sound are tried. These computing color designs are treated by the method of Fast fourier Transformation. As several result good color designs are given in forms of ring color patterns and band. But these judgments depend finally on human kansei. These new technology give us good hints in order to create new paradigm that appeal to Kansei goods. This new concept should be developed to higher level by additional improvements.

  • 소비의 패턴이 이성소비에서 감성소비로 전환되면서 오감이 중요한 마케팅 요소로 등장하고 있다. 특히 시각적 요소는 인간이 사물을 인지하는데 있어서 83%정도의 영향력을 발휘하기 때문에 매우 중요하게 고려된다. 따라서 본 연구는 Color Code를 토대로 사용자의 성격을 분류하고 동시에 사용자가 선호하는 색상을 이용하여 색채배색을 제안하는 방법을 설명하고 있는데 성격을 RED, BLUE, WHITE, YELLOW의 4개의 컬러코드로 분류하기 위해서 ‘The Hartman Color Code Personality Profil’을 이용하였다. 조사결과 사용자의 컬러코드 중 가장 많은 코드는 BLUE코드였으며 선호도도 가장 높았다. 이러한 BLUE 코드의 특징 중 색채와 대응할 수 있는 감성어휘를 중심으로 색채배색안을 제시하고 이를 주택상품의 컬러마케팅에 이용하고자 하는 것이 본 연구의 목표이다.

  • The objectives of this study were to evaluate color sensation for yellowish natural dye fabrics using magnitude estimation to determine physical colorimetric factors significantly related to human sensibility by establishing power function in psychophysical analysis. Fourteen different yellowish fabrics dyed with natural colorants were selected as stimuli and subjective color sensations including brightness, heaviness, softness, strength, warmth, activeness, classicalness, femininity, and pleasantness for each stimulus were evaluated. As results, yellowish natural dye fabrics in general seemed to evoke feeling of brightness, femininity, and pleasantness more strongly than that of heaviness and classicalness. Most of color sensation were significantly related with more than one of physical color properties, which leads to establishing reliable power functions between them. In the power functions, these relationships could be utilized to design color-sensible natural dye textiles.

  • In the 21st century, university library is changing into a new paradigm. Among others, color image emerges as an important aspect of the library. Up to now, studies on colors of indoor space have been limited on partial and specific spaces. But, this study, using the tool of emotional evaluation, aims to do a comprehensive research on color image of the whole space. This research uses the H University library completed in March 2015. This research is performed in the following procedure. First, previous related researches for the past ten years from 2005 to 2015 is examined, which will help understand the trends in this kind of research, and set up the concrete goal of research. By literature review, color image is established in the environmental psychological aspect. Second, to analyze colors, all the spaces of the library from the entrance lobby are filmed. Filmed images are changed into mosaic, and color palettes are composed, and color values are calculated using the Munsell color system. Third, emotional words are extracted, and emotional evaluation is made. Using the Semantic Differential scale method, emotional differences among subjects are compared, and the validity of the survey data is tested using the statistical program SPSS 18.0. As the outcome of the research shows, the color image and emotion in space are closely related. And, through emotion, it is possible to get color image, and this aspect can be scholastically systemized and developed.

  • Graphical expressions are continuously improving, spurred by the astonishing growth of the game technology industry. Despite such improvements, users are still demanding a more natural gaming environment and true reflections of human emotions. In real life, people can read a person's moods from facial color and expression. Hence, interactive facial colors in game characters provide a deeper level of reality. In this paper we propose a facial color adaptive technique, which is a combination of an emotional model based on human emotion theory, emotional expression pattern using colors of animation contents, and emotional reaction speed function based on human personality theory, as opposed to past methods that expressed emotion through blood flow, pulse, or skin temperature. Experiments show this of expression of the Facial Color Model based on facial color adoptive technique and expression of the animation contents is effective in conveying character emotions. Moreover, the proposed Facial Color Adaptive Technique can be applied not only to 2D games, but to 3D games as well.

  • In this paper, we propose the technique for recognizing the human emotion by using the color image. To do so, we first extract the skin color region from the color image by using HSI model. Second, we extract the face region from the color image by using Eigenface technique. Third, we find the man's feature points(eyebrows, eye, nose, mouse) from the face image and make the fuzzy model for recognizing the human emotions (surprise, anger, happiness, sadness) from the structural correlation of man's feature points. And then, we infer the human emotion from the fuzzy model. Finally, we have proven the effectiveness of the proposed method through the experimentation.
