후각구 형성부전을 동반한 칼만증후군 1례 (A Case of Kallmann's Syndrome with Hypoplasia of Olfactory Bulb)

  • Kallmann's syndrome has both a general and specific connotation in describing general condition of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) deficiency or a particular cluster of anomalies associated with primary eunuchoidism. The familial occurrence of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism associated with anosmia, color blindness, synkinesia, and mental defect is the classic Kallmann's syndrome. Interestingly, anosmia, or lack of smell, was not found in the absence of gonadal deficiency in the original study of this disorder. This disorder was found on both sexes, but the male to female ratio was 11:1, and Kallmann's syndrome is more often listed under disorders of male hypogonadism for this reason. Gross anatomy has shown disorders of the olfactory bulbs associated with Kallmann's syndrome and it was demonstrated a failure of GnRH-containing cells to migrate from the olfactory placode to the hypothalamus and preoptic area. We have experienced a case of Kallmann's syndrome which showed a hypoplasia of olfactory bulb in MRI during the workup of primary amenorrheic patient. So we report this case with a brief review of literatures.

바다부유물질로 만든 퇴비를 시용한 토양에서 발생한 딸기의 질소결핍증 해결 사례연구 (Case Study of N Deficiency Symptom of Strawberry in the Soil Applied with Sea Deposit Compost)

  • pH가 높은 바다부유물질로 만든 퇴비를 시용한 토양은 암모니아 휘산이 야기되어 토양 중 질산태 질소함량이 낮고, 딸기는 질소를 흡수하지 못하여 생육이상증상이 유발되었다. 이 토양의 pH를 질산을 처리하여 낮추어 주고 부족한 질소와 인산 및 칼륨을 공급한 결과 회복되었다. 이 결과로부터 pH가 높은 토양에서 발생하는 질소결핍증은 토양의 pH를 낮추어 주어야 회복시킬 수 있다고 판단되었다.

누에 고치색 유전자 발현의 다양성 검정 및 색채과학적 해석 (Genetic Expression of Color Approved by Color Qualities of Munsell System on the Cocoon of Silkworm, Bombyx mori)

  • 각종 고치색을 검정하여 Pink계, Orange Yellow계, Yellow계, Yellow Green계, White계 등 5계통으로 정리하고, Munsell 부호와 한국표준색표 일련번호를 명시하는 동시에 영어 및 한국어 색이름을 규정하였다. 色 이론을 도입한 표색계에서는 공시한 21종의 유색견 고치색은 Pink계 1종, Orange Yellow~Yellow계 12종, Yellow Green계 3종으로서 16종이 확인되었다. Pink계는 노랑띤 분홍색; Orange Yellow계는 등황색, 금잔화색, 치자색, 계란색; Yellow 系는 해바라기색, 노른자색, 노랑, 벼색, 네이플즈 엘로, 황수선화색, 땅콩색, 크림색; Yellow Green계는 청포도색, 백연두색, 백합꽃색이 확인되었다. 관용 색이름인 肉色繭은 F 유전자가 지배하는 치자색 및 살색으로 세분되며, 藁色繭은 C$^{st}$는 벼색, 땅콩색 등을 포함하는 부류로 간주할 수 있었다. 고치색 유전자와 관련된 색파장 범위는 Pk가 593 nm, F는 580~593 nm, Grc 및 Ga Gb Gc 계열은 567~570 nm였으며, Y 유전자는 가장 폭넓은 575~593 nm의 색파장에 관여하였다. 가시광선 스팩트럼 593~567 nm 범위에 7종의 파장을 기본으로 18종 이상의 고치색이 성립되며, 특히 575~584 nm 영역은 유색견 21계통 중 78% 가 포함되어, 580 nm를 중심으로 色彩識別역이 예민한 색파장 영역에서 최소폭의 변화로 다양한 고치색 발현이 가능한 것으로 밝혀졌다. 중부견사선 외층세리신이 정상인 멧누에와 집누에 교잡종($+^Y+^C/Y^AYmc$)은 고유의 멧누에고(5Y9/4) 외에 황수선화색(5Y8.5/8)이 분리되었다. YC 발현에서 Y와 동일한 연관군 및 좌위(2~25.6)인 Y$^A,\;Y^D$ 등은 누에계통별 특이 인자가 관여한 결과로 추정되며, 이와같이 C$^1,\;C^{st}$도 C와 동등한 유전자일 가능성이 제기되었다. 녹색견은 Grc와 관계되는 2종의 청포도색, 독립유전 녹색견 Gc와 유사한 백연두색, Ga 또는 Gb와의 관련성이 추정되는 백합꽃색이 확인되었다. Pink계${\times}$Yellow계 고치색은 가법혼색의 경향을 보이고 , Yellow계의 "매우 진한 노랑" 고치 간의 교잡에서는 해바라기색이 우위로 발현되었다. 그러나, 일반적으로 유색견 원종 간의 F1 고치색은 감법혼색의 결과와 유사하며, 교잡종 고치색은 양친의 평균과 비교하여 색파장은 단파장 쪽으로 이동하고 명도와 채도가 저하되는 경향을 나타내었다.

한방진단설문지 DSOM (r) S.1.1의 Upgrade를 위한 신뢰도 연구 (Reliability Study for Upgrade of Diagnosis System of Oriental Medicine DSOM(r) S.1.1)

  • DSOM(Diagnosis System of Oriental Medicine), questionnaire for oriental medical(medicine) diagnosis is an online survey system containing 152 questions for female, 149 questions for male that asking the basic symtoms of 16 pathogenic factors(病機). The result of DSOM denotes reliability according to the level of major symptoms of each pathogenic factor. Standard level of reliability is equal to all 16 pathogenic factor basically except phlegm(痰). In case of phlegm(痰) we give different weight depending on whether the factor includes gray color under the orbit(痰飮氣) or not. To examine reliability of DSOM, statistical analysis has been done to the data of felmale 10101, male 1564 except for bad responses and stored between 1st April 2000 to 3rd June 2011. Based on the study, the conclusions were as follows. Reliability of DSOM. For female, all pathogenic factors showed over 85% confidence level except for phlegm 82.6%. For male, all pathogenic factors showed more than 90% confidence level except two factors, phlegm(痰) indicates 87.% and damp(濕) indicates 89.8%. HH rates among pathogenic factors were more than 50 points. For female, HH rates of other 14 pathogenic factors were all over 80% except for heat(熱) 78.2% and insufficiency of Yang(陽虛) 75.3%. For male HH rates of all pathogenic factors were more than 80% except HH rates of heat 78.2% and damp 77.8%. Research based on a degree of satisfaction of reliability derived from pathogenic factors with scores of HH results in for all 16 pathogenic factors showed over 85% of relatively high level of satisfaction for both sexes whose reliability standard come under 5~4 points. Comparing appearance frequency of pathogenic factors for both sexes. Male only displays higer than female in heat(熱). Whereas female were higher than male for other 15 pathogenic factors and the difference was biggest in heart(心) and least in insufficiency of Yin(陰虛). Comparing appearance frequency order of pathogenic factors for both sexes. Female outdistanced male in blood stasis(血瘀) coldness(寒) blood-deficiency(血虛) phlegm(痰), while male outdistance female in heat(熱) insufficiency of Yin(陰虛) deficiency of qi(氣虛). Male had lower average of each pathogenic factors than female except heat(熱) as well as deficiency of qi(氣虛).

내상병에 대한 형상의학적 치료 -위질환을 중심으로 (Treatment on Internal Damage Disease in Hyungsang Medicine)

  • Review on internal damage disease(disease of the spleen and stomach) in Hyungsang medicine is as follows; In case of woman, Disease of the spleen and stomach is caused mostly a excessive thought. In case of man, Disease of the spleen and stomach is related to the genitals's disease for man is based on the kidney and body. In shapes of the Jung(精), Ki(氣). Shin(神) and Hyul(血), the seven feelings(emotions) in the Ki(氣) and Shin(神) types and deficiency of essence and blood in the Jung(精) and Hyul(血) types induce mostly diseases of the spleen and stomach. Treatments are used frequently to promote the normal flow of Ki(行氣), promote digestion and remove food stagnancy(消導), resolve phlem(化痰) and check upward perverted flow of fire(降火) in the Ki(氣) and Shin(神) types and tonity the essence(補精), tonity the blood(補血) and replenish Ki(補氣) in the Jung(精) and Hyul(血) types. The main parts to appear outside diseases of the spleen and stomach are face color, depression condition of eyes, lips' condition, LU10(魚際)'s color and the rise and fall of flesh etc. Shapes of the six meridians have to treat to divid shapes and symtoms of the six meridians according to 'deviation of Ki and blood' and 'the expression part of symtoms'.

Correction of microtia with constriction features using a superficial temporal fascial flap combined with a rib cartilage graft

  • Background Microtia with constricted features is characterized by a short helical length of variable severity, upper antihelical or scaphal deficiency, and a downfolded upper ear. No consensus has been reached regarding the most appropriate surgical method for this condition. In this study, we aimed to introduce a simple and safe surgical method for the correction or reconstruction of upper helix ear deformities. Methods Between February 2011 and June 2014, eight patients with microtia with constricted upper helix ear deformity underwent reconstruction of the ear deformity. The upper ear helical framework was constructed by carving and curving the eighth rib cartilage harvested from the ipsilateral chest wall, covering this cartilage with a superficial temporal fascial flap, and adjusting the skin graft to align with the ear contour. To evaluate their satisfaction, patients were asked to complete a questionnaire regarding ear shape, symmetry, position, color, and overall outcome scored on a 5-point scale at 12 months postoperatively. Results None of the patients experienced severe complications in the reconstructed ear. The preoperative and postoperative vertical ear length ratios were 0.88 and 1.02, respectively. And the mean patient satisfaction scores for shape, symmetry, position, color, and overall outcome were 4.2, 4.5, 4.7, 4.4, and 4.6 out of 5 points, respectively. All patients expressed a high level of satisfaction at 12 months postoperatively. Conclusions Our technique provides a good alternative method for the reconstruction of moderate constricted upper helix ear deformities in patients who meet the surgical indications with satisfactory outcomes and few complications.

감마선 및 EMS처리에 의한 유채(Brassica napus L.)와 갓(Brassica juncea L.)의 유묘 감수성 평가 및 형태적 변이체 선발 (Determination of Seedling Sensitivity and Selection of Morphological Mutants by Treatments of Gamma-Ray and EMS in Rapeseed and Leaf Mustard)

  • This study was aimed to select useful mutants of rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) and leaf mustard (Brassica juncea L.), the seeds of three lines S-14, S-27, and S-28 were treated with gamma-ray and EMS. The optimum ranges of gamma-ray dose and EMS concentration to enlarge the characteristic morphological variations were also separately investigated. The survival rates of S-28 only linearly decreased with increasing the gamma-ray dose. The overall growth parameters decreased of gamma-ray dose in all three lines of S-14, S-27, and S-28. The reduction dosage 50 of gamma-ray was identified as 1,200 Gy for S-14 leaf mustard, while those of S-27 and S-28 rapeseed lines were appeared as same 1,000 Gy. The emergence rates of S-14 and S-27 showed no significant differences by EMS treatment, while the growth of all three lines were significantly decreased. The reduction concentration 50 in S-14 could not be determined, demonstrating that this leaf mustard line is presumably insensitive to mutagenic EMS, while those in S-27 and S-28 were identified as 3.0 and 2.5%, respectively, showing that these rapeseed lines possess higher sensitivity to EMS than S-14. Various morphological characteristics of $M_1$ generation obtained from mutagen treatment were elaborately investigated for further maintenance of $M_2$ generation. In $M_2$ generation variants showing short stem, yellow color in seed coat, chlorophyll deficiencies in leaf or pod, abnormal flower color were selected as potentially useful mutants for breeding.

의료시설의 치유적 환경을 위한 자연광조명시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on Daylighting Systems for Therapeutic Environments of Healthcare Facilities)

  • Chronic patients and staffs in healthcare facilities cannot avoid long-term stays indoors. Therefore, they need to get adequate amounts of sunlight to prevent diseases caused by vitamin D deficiency. This is a case study on the advanced daylighting systems installed to healthcare facilities for therapeutic environments as serving natural light therapy and a pleasant atmosphere. This paper shows daylighting devices that overcome the structural limits of architectural design solutions for inducing natural light. This study presents appropriate daylighting technologies to the purpose and types of healthcare facilities by analyzing therapeutic environmental factors. Natural light delivered through daylighting devices help directly patients recover. In addition, it can improve healthcare providers' performance and productivity, and reduce their errors, thereby creating therapeutic environments for patients, indirectly. Excellent color rendering of solar illumination is also a powerful tool for navigation and wayfinding in the buildings, and for aesthetic treatment in dental office. Furthermore, daylighting systems are streamlined and require the least material and space to attract sunlight up to the deeper inside. But because of expensive cost, they have not yet been widespread. Though daylighting devices are typically more expensive than artificial illuminations to install, the running cost savings can compensate for the initial installation cost. With the development of technology in the future, the market price of them is expected to be formed properly.

왕호고(王好古)의 음증학설(陰證學說)에 대한 연구(硏究) (The Research of Wang HaoGu's Eum Syndrom Theory)

  • Eum Syndrom include symptoms which is because by the cold thingsand by the infection of SamEum of TaeEum, SoEum, GualEum in Treatise On Exogenous Febrile Diseases(傷寒論). After Wang HoGo, many medical people had proceed the research of Eum Syndrom, but recently, we have almost never or no nothing research about that. So, I want to make modern base of Eum syndrom, and researched mainly for the "YinZhengLueLi". That can be summarized like below. Eum Syndrom shows firstly red face, tremor, waist-and-leg heaviness, lastly body heaviness, fatigue, narcolepsy, congestion of the pupils because of from exogenous attack of wind-cold, impairment of spleen due to Cold things, and dew and mist and rain and damp's invation by mouth and nose, greedy of sexual desire, So, in the diagnosis of Eum Syndrom, we have to look over precisely the color and pulse, especially, by pulse. We can know that, he used the prescription which are have heating kidney function, Byuklyuksan, Jungyangsan, Huahamsan, Huiyangdan, Baneumdan etc, and the prescription which are have strengthening spleen and kidney, Bujasan, Yukgyesan, Bakchulsan etc. So, we can know that he was very interested in deficiency and cold of kidney's function. While, he newly made the prescriptions of Sinchultang, Bakchultang, Huanggitang, Jujunghuan, and he used various prescriptions.

$Bi_{12}GeO_{20}$단결정 육성 및 표면탄성파 소자 제조 (Growth of Optical Quality $Bi_{12}GeO_{20}$ Crystals and Preparation of SAW-Filter)

  • The effects of compositional variation, rotation speel and pulling rate on the growth of optical quality Bi120e02(1 crystals were examined. It was found to flatten the shape of crystal-melt interface for yowing a single crystals less than about 30mm in diameter at the rotation speed of 50rpm. Diameter of crystals with flat interface was increased as the pulling rate. The precipitation of Bi40e3012 phase set limits to pulling rate of BGO crystals. Precipitate-free BGO crystals were grown under pulling rate of 2mm l hr which released the stress resulted from too hi어 Pulling rate, and from 6. IBi203·GeO2 batch composition obtained by addition of 0.1 mole Bi203 into Bi-deficient melts to fill up the deficiency resulted from gradual volatilization of Bi2O). The pale-yellow colored crystals had good quality in that dislocation density was less than 103pits/cm, and it also exhibited transmittance of 70% and optical activity of 23°/mm. and SAW velosity was measured 1700m/sec on 111 cut 110 propagating BGO crystals. The SAW filter with electrode thickness of 9.8um was fabricated by using the electron beam and dry etching technique, it makes Bi12GeO20 devices intersting for color TV IF with half device size.
