The collaboration productively interacting between multi-agents has become an emerging issue in real-world applications. In reinforcement learning, multi-agent environments present challenges beyond tractable issues in single-agent settings. This collaborative environment has the following highly complex attributes: sparse rewards for task completion, limited communications between each other, and only partial observations. In particular, adjustments in an agent's action policy result in a nonstationary environment from the other agent's perspective, which causes high variance in the learned policies and prevents the direct use of reinforcement learning approaches. Unexpected social loafing caused by high dispersion makes it difficult for all agents to succeed in collaborative tasks. Therefore, we address a paradox caused by the social loafing to significantly reduce total returns after a certain timestep of multi-agent reinforcement learning. We further demonstrate that the collaborative paradox in multi-agent environments can be avoided by our proposed effective early stop method leveraging a metric for social loafing.
Operational Transformation (OT) algorithms for real-time collaborative editing systems are becoming increasingly important due to the increased demand for collaborative data processing. The operational transformation algorithm is a technique for real-time concurrency control and consistency maintenance with non-locking technique, and many studies have been conducted to overcome three issues of convergence, causality-prevention, and intention-prevention. However, previous work has the disadvantage of wasting memory by storing all operations that occurred during an edit operation in the history buffer to solve this problem. Therefore, we propose a memory-saving real-time collaborative editing system that maintains a constant memory space and concurrency control through a method of applying the valid-time to each user-generated operation in order to reduce memory waste. This system prevents long-term memory occupation of client-generated operations, thus it reduces the space and time complexity even with low-rate of collaboration work, so that the performance degradation avoids.

2D/1D coupling method is an important neutron transport calculation method due to its high accuracy and relatively low computation cost. However, 2D/1D coupling method may diverge especially in small axial mesh size. To analyze the convergence behavior of 2D/1D coupling method, a Fourier analysis for k-eigenvalue neutron transport problems is implemented. The analysis results present the divergence problem of 2D/1D coupling method in small axial mesh size. Several common attempts are made to solve the divergence problem, which are to increase the number of inner iterations of the 2D or 1D calculation, and two times 1D calculations per outer iteration. However, these attempts only could improve the convergence rate but cannot deal with the divergence problem of 2D/1D coupling method thoroughly. Moreover, the choice of axial solvers, such as DGFEM SN and traditional SN, and its effect on the convergence behavior are also discussed. The results show that the choice of axial solver is a key point for the convergence of 2D/1D method. The DGFEM SN based 2D/1D method could converge within a wide range of optical thickness region, which is superior to that of traditional SN method.

In this paper, a robot automation methodology for chemical drum assembly in semiconductor industries are presented. Robot automation is essential to resolve safety issues in which operators are directly or indirectly exposed to chemicals or fumes in assembling dispense heads on chemical drums. However, the chemical drum assembling process involves complex and difficult tasks, such as mating male/female keycodes and fastening screws with large-diameter, which may be very difficult to be performed by a single-arm robot with a commercial rigid F/T sensor. In order to solve the problems, a method for assembling a chemical drum using dual-arm collaborative robot system, compliance F/T sensor, robot vision and gripper is presented.

This letter presents a model for a dynamic collaboration (DC) platform among cloud providers (CPs) that prevents adverse business impacts, cloud vendor lock-in and violation of service level agreements with consumers, and also offers collaborative cloud services to consumers. We consider two major challenges. The first challenge is to find an appropriate market model in order to enable the DC platform. The second is to select suitable collaborative partners to provide services. We propose a novel combinatorial auction-based cloud market model that enables a DC platform among CPs. We also propose a new promising multi-objective optimization model to quantitatively evaluate the partners. Simulation experiments were conducted to verify both of the proposed models.
In this paper, the numerical inverse kinematics analysis is presented for a collaborative robot with an offset wrist. Robot manipulators with offset wrist are widely used in industrial applications, due to many advantages over those with wrist center and those with three parallel axes such as simple mechanical design, light weight, and so on. There may not exist a closed-form solution for a robot manipulator with offset wrist. A simple numerical method is applied to solve the inverse kinematics with offset wrist. Singularity is analyzed using Jacobian matrix and the numerical inverse kinematics algorithm is implemented on the real-time controller.
