  • This paper proposes a HPPS(Hybrid Preference Prediction System) design using the analysis of user profile and of the similarity among users precisely to predict the preference for custom-tailored service. Contrary to the existing NBCFA(Neighborhood Based Collaborative Filtering Algorithm), this paper is designed using these following rules. First, if there is no neighbor's commodity rating value in a preference prediction formula, this formula uses the rating average value for a commodity. Second, this formula reflects the weighting value through the analysis of a user's characteristics. Finally, when the nearest neighbor is selected, we consider the similarity, the commodity rating, and the rating frequency. Therefore, the first and second preference prediction formula made HPPS improve the precision by 97.24%, and the nearest neighbor selection method made HPPS improve the precision by 75%, compared with the existing NBCFA.

  • Currently the mobile web service is growing with a tremendous speed and mobile contents are spreading extensively. However, it is hard to search what the user wants because of some limitations of cellular phones. And the music is the most popular content, but many users experience frustrations to search their desired music. To solve these problems, this research proposes a hybrid recommendation system, MOBICORS-music (MOBIle COntents Recommender System for Music). Basically it follows the procedure of Collaborative Filtering (CF) system, but it uses Contents-Based (CB) data representation for neighborhood formation and recommendation of new music. Based on this data representation, MOBICORS-music solves the new item ramp-up problem and results better performance than existing CF systems. The procedure of MOBICORS-music is explained step by step with an illustrative example.

  • With the advent and popularity of e-commerce, an increasing number of consumers prefer to order tourism products online. A recommender system can help these users contend with information overload; however, such a system is affected by the cold start problem. Online tourism destination searching is a more difficult task than others on account of its more restrictive factors. In this paper, we therefore propose a tourism destination recommender system that employs opinion-mining technology to refine user preferences and item opinion reputations. These elements are then fused into a hybrid collaborative filtering method by combining user- and item-based collaborative filtering approaches. Meanwhile, we embed an artificial interactive module in our recommender system to alleviate the cold start problem. Compared with several well-known cold start recommendation approaches, our method provides improved recommendation accuracy and quality. A series of experimental evaluations using a publicly available dataset demonstrate that the proposed recommender system outperforms existing recommender systems in addressing the cold start problem.

  • Scholarly information has increased tremendously according to the development of IT, especially the Internet. However, simultaneously, people have to spend more time and exert more effort because of information overload. There have been many research efforts in the field of expert systems, data mining, and information retrieval, concerning a system that recommends user-expected information items through presumption. Recently, the hybrid system combining a content-based recommendation system and collaborative filtering or combining recommendation systems in other domains has been developed. In this paper we resolved the problem of the current recommendation system and suggested a new system combining collaborative filtering and Naive Bayes Classification. In this way, we resolved the over-specialization problem through collaborative filtering and lack of assessment information or recommendation of new contents through Naive Bayes Classification. For verification, we applied the new model in NDSL's paper service of KISTI, especially papers from journals about Sitology and Electronics, and witnessed high satisfaction from 4 experimental participants.

  • Recommender systems use data from customers to suggest personalized products. The recommender systems can be categorized into three cases; collaborative filtering, contents-based filtering, and hybrid recommender system that combines the first two filtering methods. In this work, we introduce and compare deep learning-based recommender system using autoencoder. Autoencoder is an unsupervised deep learning that can effective solve the problem of sparsity in the data matrix. Five versions of autoencoder-based deep learning models are compared via three real data sets. The first three methods are collaborative filtering and the others are hybrid methods. The data sets are composed of customers' ratings having integer values from one to five. The three data sets are sparse data matrix with many zeroes due to non-responses.

  • Recently, client computing trend has been changed from server oriented information application to network based P2P(Peer to Peer) services. The conventional client/server method has the merit of accessing abundant information, on the other side P2P has the merit of synchronized community support and information exchange. P2P has four meaning of point to point, peer to peer, person to person and path to profitability. In manufacturing system field, the second meaning is interested. P2P is classified to three type such as conventional client/server, hybrid P2P and pure P2P. The third is really peer to peer concept. The related technologies with P2P are P2P searching, XML, cooperation, IPv6, computing sharing and P2P communication. This paper describes the scheme of P2P and related contents. And through the P2P based technology, a P2P-based collaborative machine and a vertical portal machine are introduced in this paper. The scheme of the machines mentioned above is suggested for cooperation in manufacturing system and u-Manufacturing.

  • Recommender systems are a personalized information filtering technology to help customers find the products they would like to purchase. Collaborative filtering is the most successful recommendation technology. Web usage mining and clustering analysis are widely used in the recommendation field. In this paper, we propose several hybrid collaborative filtering-based recommender procedures to address the effect of web usage mining and cluster analysis. Through the experiment with real e-commerce data, it is found that collaborative filtering using web log data can perform recommendation tasks effectively, but using cluster analysis can perform efficiently.

  • In this study, with the goal of developing a deep learning-based product recommendation model for effective matching of influencers and products, a deep learning model with a collaborative filtering model combined with generalized matrix decomposition(GMF), a collaborative filtering model based on multi-layer perceptron (MLP), and neural collaborative filtering and generalized matrix Factorization (NeuMF), a hybrid model combining GMP and MLP was developed and tested. In particular, we utilize one-class problem free boosting (OCF-B) method to solve the one-class problem that occurs when training is performed only on positive cases using implicit feedback in the deep learning-based collaborative filtering recommendation model. In relation to model selection based on overall experimental results, the MLP model showed highest performance with weighted average precision, weighted average recall, and f1 score were 0.85 in the model (n=3,000, term=15). This study is meaningful in practice as it attempted to commercialize a deep learning-based recommendation system where influencer's promotion data is being accumulated, pactical personalized recommendation service is not yet commercially applied yet.

  • Collaborative filtering recommendation creates similar item subset or similar user subset based on user preference about items and predict user preference to particular item by using them. Thus, if preference matrix has low density, reliability of recommendation will be sharply decreased. To solve these problems we suggest Hybrid Preference Prediction Technique Using Weighting based Data Reliability. Preference prediction is carried out by creating similar item subset and similar user subset and predicting user preference by each subset and merging each predictive value by weighting point applying model condition. According to this technique, we can increase accuracy of user preference prediction and implement recommendation system which can provide highly reliable recommendation when density of preference matrix is low. Efficiency of this system is verified by Mean Absolute Error. Proposed technique shows average 21.7% improvement than Hao Ji's technique when preference matrix sparsity is more than 84% through experiment.
