In this study, we analyzed two types of cold forging dies commonly used for manufacturing general nuts and screws to investigate the differences in WC powder according to the lifespan. For both Type I and Type II dies, it was observed that as the lifespan of the molds increases, the area fraction of Co becomes larger and the size of the powder becomes smaller. Moreover, there is a trend where the strength also increases as the lifespan gets longer. Actually, the hardness value of the sample with the longest lifespan is ~ 131 HV higher than the specimen of the shortest lifespan, It is noted that the reduction in toughness of the WC-Co mold is caused by insufficient Co and the decrease in contact surface area of WC-Co results in a reduced bonding surface area. The lifespan of cold-working WC molds increases when the W content and the volume fraction of WC are high, and the size of the WC powder is small. The results can significantly enhance producing high-quality molds with an extended lifespan using WC powder for cold forging.
Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy of Sasang constitutional herb medicine for the treatment in postmenopausal women having various complaints. Methods From December 2016 to July 2017, four cases of women having climacteric complaints were extracted. Results Their main symptoms were hot flush, insomnia, sweating, cold sensation, and excitation. Their Sasang constitutional types were 2 Soyangin and 2 Taeeumin. Conclusions Their symptomolgies of Soyangin and Taeeumin lied in the Interior disease rather than Exterior disease, in the Advanced disease rather than Mild disease. It could show that Sasang constitutional medicine and management is possible to be indicated in climacteric disorders.
The current five-stage cold extrusion process to produce an axle-housing is investigated for the purpose of improved process. The main goal of this study is to obtain an appropriate reduced process sequence which can produce the required part most economically without tensile crack-ing workpiece buckling and overloading of the tools. The current process sequence is simulated and design criteria are examined. during the simulation several remeshings are done due to severe mesh distortions, Based on the results of simulations of the current five-stage process, design strategy for improving the process sequence are developed using the thick hollow pipes. The finished product of an axle-housing is produced in two operations and one annealing treatment while the conventional sequence consists of five operations and one annealing treat-ment. Also die loads of the new process are compared with those of the current one.
This study was conducted to determine the effects of storage conditions on apples treated with postharvest fungicides, benomyl and bitertanol. The fungicideds were applied to control Postharverst disease in apples during CA and cold storage. The stored Apple were tested monthly for weight loss, flesh firmness, titratable acidity, prix and free sugar. Relative to the control group, the pstharvest fungicide stoup had less disease. The fungicide treated apples stored in CA had a higher measured weight, better firmness and maintained acidity, prix and free sugar when compared to the control stoup monthly and after 200days. The fungicide treated apples in cold storage maintained their quality for 120days.
The automatic forming sequence design system can determine desirable operation sequences even if they have little experience in the design of cold forging process. This system is proposed, which generates forming sequence plans for the multistage cold forging of zxisymmetrical solid products. Since the process of metal forming can be considered as a transformation of geometry, treatment of the geometry of the product is a key in planning processes. Forming sequence for the part can be determined by means of primitive geometries such as cylinder, cone, convex, and concave. By utilizing this geometrical characteristics(diameter, height, and radius),the product geometry is expressed by a list of the pnmitive geometries. Accordingly, the forming sequence design is formulated as the search problem which starts with a billet geometry and finishes with a given product one. Using the developed system, the sequence drawing with all dimensions, which includes the proper sequence of operations for the part, is generated under the environment of AutoCAD. The preliminary choice of some feasible forming sequences can verify by using the finite element simulation.

Forged gears have the obvious advantages with the greater utilisation of raw material and high productivity over the machined gears. The forged bevel gear has been used in differential gear for automotive with a high reliance. On the other hand, the studies have been continued to improve the accuracy and expand the applying areas. In this paper, a whole manufacturing process for forged gear from die design and cold forging to heat-treatment was introduced. The stress and elastic deformation for forging die have been analysed by the 3D-FEM-package. The real elastic deformation of die was measured by the strain-gages. The elastic deformation of die was reached to 1mm, in terms of the present study. The analysed quantitative dimension of die was taken into consideration into the CAD/CAM data for forging die.
Cold forging is a special type of forging process in which metal is forced to flow plastically under compressive force into a variety of shapes in room temperature. Gear blank, which is produced by cold forging, is concerned with the production method of transmission gear. Based on the results of simulation of the current four-stage process, the gear blank forging process for improving the conventional process sequence is designed. The rigid plastic finite element analysis for improving the conventional process. The new process consists of three stage operations with one annealing treatment after first operation. Based on the results of simulation of the proposed process, a required equipment could be selected. The new designed process appears to be more economical in producing the gear blank.
For bioassay of the various extracts of ginseng, the growth determination method using Saccharomyces cerevisiae which was cultured with various doses of the extracts, was studied The water extract, Powder. and ethanol extract were more effective (about 45∼ 110% increase) than saponins or its fractions (about 20∼35% increase). The cold methanol residue showed a increase effect but it was not significant. The bioassay curves for the water extract, ethanol extract, the butanol extracted saponins and the cold methanol- residue were made from the experimental data. From these curves it is possible to find the relation between dose and effectiveness and the optimal doses of various ginseng extracts, and the amount of extract in a sample can be estimated The .angers of sample amount were 0.01% (100ppm) ∼0.32% (3200ppm) fo. the water extract, 0.025% (150ppm)∼0.1% (1000ppm) for the ethanol extract, and 0.008% (80ppm)∼0.016% (160ppm) for the saponins. It was impossible to determine the range for the cold methanol- residue, The acceleration effects on the cell proliferation by a only 0.0008% (8ppm) of the diol- and triol-saponin were measurable in earlier Period (24 hour treatment).
Purpose: Frostbite is a hazard to people exposed to cold environments. With the progression of modern industrial development and change of leisure behavior encountering cold environments, frequent accidental exposure to frostbite injury during work and human behavior is increasing, and the predisposing factors of frostbite were greatly changed than before. The purpose of this study was to make epidemiological analysis, and to review the treatment outcomes of frostbite. Methods: From March 2010 to February 2021, this study has included 27 patients with second- to third-degree frostbite injuries in Advanced Burn Reconstruction Center, Bundang Jesaeng Hosptial. A retrospective study was made about the distribution of age, gender, predisposing factors, prevalent area, type of managements, and the length of treatment period. Results: In our institution, acute management of frostbite patients has included rewarming, anticoagulation therapy (acetylsalicylic acid), and agents to improve vascular perfusion (lipo-prostaglandin E1 [Eglandin®]). The 25 frostbite patients with second-degree frostbite (92.6%) were successfully managed by the conservative treatment alone with a mean of 20.3 days healing time. Two patients with third-degree frostbite (7.4%) also showed good outcomes after surgical reconstruction with a mean of 59 days healing time. In our clinical experiences of third-degree frostbite, definitive surgical reconstruction should be recommended to wait for more than 4~6 weeks for identification of clear demarcation of necrotic tissue caused by frostbite. In this study, 43 frostbite injuries site in 27 frostbite patients occurred. Among them, 15 patients (55.6%) had multiple-site frostbite injury. The most common predisposing cause of frostbite was refrigerant gas accidents (44.4%), followed by outdoor activity in cold environments (40.8%), misapplying ice pack for treatment purposes (7.4%), barefoot walking on the cold ground (3.7%), and loss of consciousness in cold grounds (3.7%). The most prevalent sites of frostbite injuries revealed as the hand (58.1%), followed by the foot (32.6%), face (7.0%), and abdomen (2.3%). And in the winter season from the November to March, the incidence rate of frostbite injuries was high at 74.1%. Conclusion: This study included 27 frostbite patients with 43 frostbite sites since last decade in a single institution at the community hospital. The frostbite patients with second-degree frostbite (92.6%) were successfully healed by the conservative treatment alone with a mean of 20.3 days healing time. The most common predisposing cause of frostbite was refrigerant gas accidents (44.4%), followed by outdoor activity in cold environments, etc. The most prevalent site of frostbite injuries was the hand (58.1%). And the most prevalent seasonal incidence of frostbite was from November to March (74.1%).
