냉복도 밀폐시스템을 적용한 서버실의 실내온도조건 (Server Room Temperature Condition in Data Center with Cold Aisle Containment System)

  • In this study, a cold aisle containment system was proposed among various strategies to reduce the energy waste by recirculation air from the hot aisle. To verify the effectiveness of the cold aisle containment system, a test bed which is similar to an actually existing server room was set up in the Internet Data Center(IDC) building. Comparative experiments, conventional open type cooling system and cold aisle containment system were carried out under actual conditions. The result revealed that the range of inlet temperature of the server system was $20{\sim}25^{\circ}C$ in an existing cooling system and the range of inlet temperature dropped below $20^{\circ}C$ by the cold aisle containment system. After all, cold aisle containment system was proved to be the solution for energy saving cooling system.

  • As the large Coolant amount used of a machine holds mass serious trouble recently, an environment pollution is increased, and a machine is conquering large specific gravity in an empty cost plane. It is the stage that must reexamine the parts washing that processing is later with this current way or a problem of a liquid waste treatment back. The environmental problems by using coolant demanded the new cooling methods. As one of them, the studies on the grinding with compressed cold air and oil mist have been done. The cooling method using compressed cold air was effective through going down the temperature of compressed air supplied below -$25^{\circ}C$ and increasing the amount of compressed cold air, but had not enough cooling effect due to the low performance of lubrication. Therefore, the cooling methods using oil mist newly were suggested. This method can satisfy both cooling effect and lubrication with only small amount of coolant, also have the benefit in the point of decreasing the environmental pollution. This paper focused on analyzing the grinding characteristics of the cooling method using oil mist. The grinding test according to compressed cold air and oil mist supply direction were done.

  • In this work, a study for the reduction of the electric power consumption has been estimated in main air compressors in the air separation unit through cryogenic distillation columns with PRO/II with PROVISION V10.2 at AVEVA company. Both required LNG mass flow rate and cold heat contained in 1 ton of LNG were also predicted using Peng-Robinson equation of state with Twu's new alpha function. Through this work, we concluded that 32.33-48.69% of electric power could be saved by using LNG cold heat.

보텍스튜브의 노즐홀수가 에너지분리에 미치는 영향 (The effect of the number of nozzle holes on the energy separation)

  • The vortex tube is a sample device for separating a compressed gaseous fluid stream into two flows of high and low temperature without any chemical reactions. The phenomena of energy separation through the vortex tube were investigated experimentally, to see the effects of the number of nozzle holes on the energy separation. The experiment was carried out with the number of nozzle holes from 1 to 10 by varying inlet pressure and cold mass fraction. The experimental results were indicated that the effective number of nozzle holes for the best cooling performance was found as 4. Also, to find effective use in a given operation conditions, the temperature difference of cold air and the cooling capacity of vortex tube was compared. The result is that cooling capacity was more important than temperature difference of cold air.

냉각에너지를 활용한 바람길 구성요소 분류 - 대구광역시를 사례로 - (Classification of Wind Corridor for Utilizing Heat Deficit of the Cold-Air Layer - A Case Study of the Daegu Metropolitan City -)

  • 최근 산림청이 기후 변화 대응 대책으로써 지자체 바람길숲 조성 사업을 시행함에 따라 다양한 바람길에 대한 연구가 수행되어 오고 있다. 바람길숲 조성을 위해서는 바람길 기능에 대한 평가가 선행되어야 한다. 하지만, 현재 바람길을 직접적으로 평가하고, 바람길의 유형에 따라 공간을 구분할 평가 지표가 없어 간접적인 지표를 기준으로 분석을 수행하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 냉각에너지 분석을 찬공기 생성에 대한 평가 지표로 활용함으로써 바람길을 평가 및 분류하는 방법을 제안하였다. Kaltluftabflussmodell_21(KLAM_21)이라는 찬공기 분석 모형을 활용하여 냉각에너지 분석을 하였다. 그리고 시뮬레이션 분석 결과에 따라 바람길을 찬공기 생성지역, 찬공기 취약지역, 찬공기 유동지역으로 분류하였다. 냉각에너지량을 기준으로 상위 5퍼센트를 찬공기 생성지역, 하위 5퍼센트를 찬공기 취약지역으로 분류하였다. 또한 찬공기 유동지역은 찬공기 생성지역에서 이동하는 찬공기의 흐름을 파악하여 분류하였다. 분석 결과, 대구광역시의 바람길 6개의 바람 생성지역이 존재하며, 찬공기 취약지역은 시가지 내부에 집중되어 있었고, 찬공기 유동지역은 대구광역시의 주요 하천과 도로를 따라 형성되어 있었다. 본 연구의 방법론을 통해 바람길의 효과를 정량적 평가 방법으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 또한 바람길숲 조성 사업지 선정에 제시할 수 있는 평가 지표로 활용될 것으로 판단된다.

  • The present study has been conducted to reduce the cold air drying rate. According to the cold air drying method, the quality-excellent product could be made and there would be little change of color, taste and smell. As compared with the hot air drying, the cold air drying equipment has the superior dehumidification in a constant drying zone. However, in a falling drying zone that equipment is not energy-efficient because the drying period could be longer by the dehumidificated.

  • This paper examines the critical air temperature at which frost formation does not occur on a cold plate in order to improve the efficiency of a heat pump. The critical air temperature on test points is obtained from numerical analysis and a correlation of the critical air temperature is derived as a function of frosting factors (air absolute humidity, air velocity, and cold plate temperature) by least square method. Experiments are carried out to verify the correlation proposed in this study, and the prediction obtained with the correlation agrees well with the experimental data. Based on the correlation, we propose the non-frosting regions according to frosting factors.

  • This paper presents some design guidelines for using cold air/water distribution to cool commercial and industrial buildings. Cold air /water distribution systems provide primary air/water for space conditioning at nominal temperature between $3^{\circ}C$ and $10^{\circ}C$ ($4{\sim}5^{\circ}C$ might be recommendable for better selection). By using lower temperature primary air/water equipment could be downsized, means lower first costs, and often reduce annual energy costs up to 50% less than that of the conventional ($13^{\circ}C$) system. This concept takes full advantages of the $2{\sim}4^{\circ}C$ chilled water (brine) available with ice storate systems.

  • In this paper, emission analysis during cold start period of CVS-75 mode in LPG vehicle was performed to find out proper operating conditions of SAI(Secondary Air Injection) system. In order to meet SULEV target, the simulated emission system had a SAI system as well as a MCC(Manifold Catalytic Converter) and a UCC(Under body Catalytic Converter). Using commercial 1-D code AMESIM, in which 7 step global surface chemical reactions of Langmuir-Hinshelwood type were adopted, transient emission analysis in the exhaust system during cold start period of CVS-75 mode were carried out to figure out the effects of flow rate, duration of supply air on HC, CO, NO emission.

  • The purpose of this study was the influence of cold weather ready mixed concrete quality according to needs of customer were investigated by measurements of slump, air content, temperature and compressive strength. As a results, cold weather ready mixed concrete using high standard admixtures, high early strength admixtures and cold weather concrete plant were similarly to slump, air content, temperature and compressive strength.
