Development of Prepolarization Coil Current Driver in SQUID Sensor-based Ultra Low-field Magnetic Resonance Apparatuses (SQUID 센서 기반의 극저자장 자기공명 장치를 위한 사전자화코일 전류구동장치 개발)

  • SQUID sensor-based ultra low-field magnetic resonance apparatus with ${\mu}T$-level measurement field requires a strong prepolarization magnetic field ($B_p$) to magnetize its sample and obtain magnetic resonance signal with a high signal-to-noise ratio. This $B_p$ needs to be ramped down very quickly so that it does not interfere with signal acquisition which must take place before the sample magnetization relaxes off. A MOSFET switch-based $B_p$ coil driver has current ramp-down time ($t_{rd}$) that increases with $B_p$ current, which makes it unsuitable for driving high-field $B_p$ coil made of superconducting material. An energy cycling-type current driver has been developed for such a coil. This driver contains a storage capacitor inside a switch in IGBT-diode bridge configuration, which can manipulate how the capacitor is connected between the $B_p$ coil and its current source. The implemented circuit with 1.2 kV-tolerant devices was capable of driving 32 A current into a thick copper-wire solenoid $B_p$ coil with a 182 mm inner diameter, 0.23 H inductance, and 5.4 mT/A magnetic field-to-current ratio. The measured trd was 7.6 ms with a 160 ${\mu}F$ storage capacitor. trd was dependent only on the inductance of the coil and the capacitance of the driver capacitor. This driver is scalable to significantly higher current of superconducting $B_p$ coils without the $t_{rd}$ becoming unacceptably long with higher $B_p$ current.

  • This paper is aimed to develop the circuit of a coil-type oil sensor packaged to the automotive engine oil monitoring the deterioration in the driving condition and let a driver notify the optimized time for the exchange of engine oil. By applying the principle which the deterioration of automotive engine oil can be expressed to the dielectric constant, the capacitance bridge circuit and the integrator circuit are designed and packaged to a coil-typed engine oil. In this study. the range of operating temperature of engine oil is experimentally recommended within 55$^{\circ}C$ for the stability of a sensor designed. It is concluded that the characteristics of output voltage converted from the dielectric constant are linearly distributed.

  • The back-light inverter used in the laptop computer is designed in this paper. It has been difficult for electromagnetic transformer to enhance the efficiency and compact profile of the inverter. In this paper, (1) the piezoelectric transformer (PT) is used for reducing the loss; (2) the volumes of core and winding coil are used in electromagnetic transformer, and (3) the half-bridge series parallel resonant circuit is used in the driver of the inverter. The modified PT for this paper and the equivalent circuit are supported by the simulation program. The result of the experiment shows more than 91% improvement in terms of the efficiency.

  • This paper presents a digital based input/output interface circuit for controlling and monitoring the Diesel Engine Generator for Emergency. In order to monitor and control of the Emergency Diesel Engine Generator, controlling and monitoring circuits need 5 analog input channels, 2 pick-up coil measuring circuits, 10 digital input channels containing Broken Wire Detect function, and 7 relay control signal output channels. This system performs signal processing of input signal taking advantage of simple filter circuit, photo-coupler and comparator circuit at analog input parts, and output signals for main relay is designed acting by double control, so it prevents malfunction completely. And it improves accuracy of speed input signal by applying digital circuit that processes pick-up coil signal.

The modified PT for this paper and the equivalent circuit are supported by the simulation program. ZVS is achieved by Half-Bridge inverter circuit. The result of the experiment shows more than 91% improvement in terms of the efficiency.

  • The modelling and controller design of the EMV(electro-magnetic valve) for vehicle engine are considered in this paper. For the analysis and controller design, the governing equation of the EMV system is derived. For a good performance of the system, the start control, the holding control and the swing control are included in the controller design of the EMV system. In order to reduce landing speed of the valve, the on-time delay control which mainly come from the optimal control theory is employed. In order to reduce the power consumption of the system, the pick-up and hold operation has been used for the magnetic coil. The simulation and experimental results are presented to show the validity of the control method.

Switching-Mode BJT Driver for Self-Oscillated Push-Pull Inverters

  • Self oscillating current fed push pull resonant inverters can be controlled without using special drivers. Dc current flows through the choke coil and the power switches, although the driving signals of the power switches are sinusoidal. When the base current is near zero, the transistors cannot be operated in switching mode. Hence higher switching power losses and instantaneous peak power during off transitions are observed. In this study, an alternative design has been proposed to overcome this problem. A prototype circuit has been built which provides dc bias current to the base of the transistors. Experimental results are compared with theoretical calculations to demonstrate the validity of the design. The proposed design decreases the peak and average power losses by about 8 times, when compared to conventional designs.

  • The reactor protection system (RPS) of HANARO is a safety class system. The reactor is tripped by dropping four shut off rods (SOR). The SOR system consists of a SOR, hydraulic pump, hydraulic cylinder, solenoid valves and a power supply unit which has the AC coil contactor as a switching component. The hydraulic pump lifts up the SOR. The SOR drops by loss of the hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic circuit at the occurrence of voltage sags or interruptions. From this experiment, we knew that the magnitude of the voltage sag which impacts on this system is 70V, 500msec. The reactor regulation system (RRS) of HANARO has four CARs which are connected to the driver through a magnetic clutch. The CAR drops by loss of electromagnetic force of the magnetic clutch when the deeper voltage sags to lower than 10V, 500msec.

  • 본 논문에서는 LCD TV의 인치에 따라 다르게 적용되는 기존의 전원 구동 분리형 시스템과 전원 구동 IP 시스템을 검토하여, 두 시스템의 장점만을 모아 LCD TV 전원 시스템의 표준화가 가능한 새로운 방식의 구동 전원 통합 시스템을 제안한다. 제안 시스템은 가격 및 효율이 우수한 2단 구성으로 이루어져 있고, 안전규격을 만족하기 위하여 EMI측면에 유리한 1:1 Trans.를 사용하였다. 인버터 부의 최적 동작을 위해 인버터 구동신호의 주파수와 시비율을 고정하고 펄스 개수를 제어하는 Pulse Count Modulation(PCM)방식을 채용 하였다. 제안 시스템의 인버터단은 전 부하 범위에서 영전압 스위칭이 가능하여 스위치의 발열이 우수하고, 별도의 전류 평형 Trans.가 필요치 않으므로 Balance Coil의 삭제가 가능하다. 이로 인해 신뢰성이 높은 제품 구성이 가능하고, PCB Size 축소 및 제품 제작 단가가 낮아지는 장점을 갖는다. 최종적으로 제안 시스템을 기존 시스템과 비교 및 실험적 검증을 통하여 제안 시스템의 그 우수성을 확인한다.
